Background / History

Saiyans originated as a warrior race on Planet Vegeta. Their original society was rigidly stratified by combat power at birth: low-level warriors were typically sent on missions, mid-level warriors trained on the homeworld, and high-level warriors formed prestigious noble families. Few Planet Vegeta Saiyans ever surpassed 10,000 combat power. 2

Their traditional growth method depended on harsh combat, routinely forcing potential out through life-or-death battles. This gave Saiyans extensive combat experience and courage, but left their development dependent on violence and survival. 46

Before Planet Vegeta was destroyed, Xiaya began secretly relocating Saiyans away from Frieza and King Vegeta's political crisis. More than 3,000 were transferred to Planet Red Mountain, forming the foundation of a surviving Saiyan branch. 66 Xiaya later evacuated additional survivors through Instant Transmission, preserving the race after Planet Vegeta's destruction. 65 86
