The booming voices rang out in unison. These were the highest-ranking deities from across the universes, each holding immense authority in their own universe. Yet before Grand Zeno and the Grand Minister, they could only lower themselves.
Smiling at all the deities, the Grand Minister stood beside Grand Zeno and announced why they had been summoned.
"You have all been gathered here because Grand Zeno believes that the twelve universes are too numerous. Furthermore, the standards of the universes have shown no improvement over the past several tens of millions of years. Therefore, Grand Zeno intends to conduct a selection among your universes. Those that fail to qualify will be eliminated."
"What?"
"Eliminate universes?!"
The Grand Minister's words were like a boulder thrown into a placid lake, instantly stirring up towering waves. All the deities were startled, then began discussing it among themselves, terrified that their own universes would be wiped out.
"Grand Zeno intends to clear out universes? I wonder how he plans to select them?"
"What do we do? My universe is ranked rather low!"
"We're finished, we're finished." The Supreme Kais of several universes with mediocre overall strength wore miserable expressions. If Grand Zeno truly intended to eliminate a batch of universes, then regardless of the rules, weaker universes would certainly be at a disadvantage.
Chaya stood amid the crowd with Kusu, Tapion, and the others. While everyone else discussed the matter, they spoke quietly among themselves as well. Though they had already been speculating about why Grand Zeno had summoned them, they had never expected that some backward universes were going to be eliminated.
