Let Universe 10 choose, giving up its own exemption from erasure? How could that be allowed? Wouldn't that give Universe 10 even greater authority?
Some of the gods wanted to object, but upon seeing the imposing Grand Minister and the innocent-looking Grand Zeno, they suddenly sighed. Forget it, let it be. If they spoiled Grand Zeno's mood and angered the two great beings, they could immediately face the risk of being erased. Besides, compared to the original outcome, where only three universes would survive if Universe 10 won, the current plan at least added one more universe.
Though it was not what they had hoped for, at least it was not the worst possible outcome!
It was just that Universe 10's authority had become far too great.
Seeing that none of the gods had any further objections, the Grand Minister took out a scroll from thin air, unfurled it, and read aloud:
"By Grand Zeno's decree, at the eighty-fourth hour of the 664th day of the 3,550,000,000th year of the King's Calendar, Grand Zeno's grand martial arts competition, the 'Tournament of Power,' will be held in the World of Void. The competition will be divided into two stages."
"Stage one will be a battle among the mortals of the twelve universes. Each universe will send ten contestants and compete in a free-for-all. Points will be awarded accordingly: knocking a contestant from an opposing universe out of the arena earns one point, while having one of your own members knocked out loses one point.
