Chaya and Selyne left Planet Vegeta for Selma, then traveled to Earth to strengthen their Ki and martial arts under Korin, Kami, and Mr. Popo. After training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and meeting Mutaito, they returned to Selma to retrieve their spacecraft and prepare to go back to Planet Vegeta.

• Chaya and Selyne trained on Planet Selma, where Selyne transformed into a Giant Ape and seriously injured Chaya before he cut off her tail to end the transformation.
• Chaya developed time-freezing, teleportation, and Space Slash, then used Instant Transmission to take Selyne to Earth and seek out Korin's Holy Land.
• Korin and Kami sent Chaya and Selyne to the Sacred Temple, where Korin and Mr. Popo taught them to control and conceal their Ki.
• Chaya collected Korin's Senzu Beans, and Selyne emerged from the Hyperbolic Time Chamber with her power near 10,000 before Chaya entered it with Mr. Popo.
• After a year of training in the chamber, Chaya emerged with a battle power of 12,862, surpassing Selyne and approaching King Vegeta's strength.
• Chaya and Selyne gathered treasure and food on Earth, built a cabin on an island, and met Mutaito without fighting him.
• Chaya told Selyne to hide her strength when they returned to Planet Vegeta, then used Instant Transmission to take her to Selma and retrieve their spacecraft.

Chaya returned to Planet Vegeta, formed a squad, and uncovered the scale of Frieza’s threat while secretly preparing to preserve the Saiyans. After rescuing the Fidayans from Xitaxi on Planet Frieza, he arranged to evacuate them under his protection.

• Chaya and Selyne returned to Planet Vegeta, where Chaya warned Adri and Rebecca that Frieza might destroy the Saiyans and that their Scouters could be monitored.
• Chaya and Selyne joined a mission squad on Dotalia Planet, where Chaya proved his strength, led the team through the extermination mission, and returned with them to Planet Vegeta.
• Chaya told Adri and the former Adri Squad members that Ginyu and Frieza possessed overwhelming power, then proposed secretly evacuating promising Saiyans to save their bloodline.
• Chaya transported the group to Barren Planet and revealed his and Selyne’s hidden strength, gaining Adri and Beruk’s support for his plan.
• Chaya and Adri trained on Barren Planet while secretly preparing for the Saiyans’ survival, and Chaya chose missions that could help him find technology and potential allies.

Chaya defeated Zarbon, helped the Fidayans flee, and organized a Saiyan settlement on Red Mountain Star while preparing for Planet Vegeta’s destruction. After Beerus’s visit prompted an early evacuation, Chaya’s group remained on a barren planet as Frieza’s threat persisted.

• Chaya killed Zarbon and his forces on Planet Fidaya, prompting Frieza to send the Ginyu Force there.
• Chaya evacuated the Fidayans and helped them build gravity chambers, then trained with his allies until his battle power reached 120,000.
• Chaya chose Red Mountain Star as a new home for the Saiyans and moved more than three thousand of them there in batches.
• Chaya gathered the Dragon Balls and wished for the Saiyans on his roster to be transferred to Red Mountain Star when Planet Vegeta was destroyed.
• Beerus nearly destroyed Planet Vegeta after Myers insulted him, but Chaya placated him with Earth food and Beerus spared the planet for the moment.

After Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta, Chaya rescued Bardock and Myers and brought them to Red Mountain Star, where the Saiyans began rebuilding and training. Chaya defeated Cooler’s Armored Squadron and traveled with his companions to Planet Yardrat to study its techniques, while Frieza and Cooler investigated the squad’s deaths.

• Bardock foresaw Frieza’s attack, sent Kakarot to Earth, and fought to defend Planet Vegeta as Frieza’s forces invaded.
• Chaya arrived during the invasion, rescued Myers, and tried to stop Frieza’s Planet Destroyer, but the blast destroyed Planet Vegeta and pulled Chaya, Bardock, and Myers into a spatial rift.
• Chaya developed Spacetime Energy, escaped the rift with Bardock and Myers, and brought them to the Saiyans gathered on Red Mountain Star.
• Chaya rallied the survivors to train, formed the Red Mountain Star Guard and Special Combat Team, and Bardock chose not to retrieve Kakarot from Earth because he believed Kakarot would defeat Frieza.
• Chaya traveled to Planet Yardrat with Selyne, Myers, and Bardock, where he killed Dore, Neiz, and Salza after they attacked him and Selyne.
• On Planet Yardrat, Bardock began studying the True Spirit Technique to address the Kanassan Curse, while Chaya, Selyne, and Myers studied Instant Transmission.
• Cooler, King Cold, and Frieza learned that the Armored Squadron had been wiped out, and Frieza suspected the Fidayans’ Ancient Warrior was responsible.
