As the name implied, it was an exam that allowed those who passed to advance to S-Class Mage, the highest rank within the guild.
In Fairy Tail, there were only four active S-Class Mages.
Erza, Mira, Gildarts, and Laxus—four in total.
Every one of them possessed extraordinarily formidable strength.
Among them, Gildarts and Laxus even had the potential to become figures on the level of the Ten Wizard Saints.
Erza was not far from reaching the level of the Ten Wizard Saints either.
Even Mira possessed powerful strength that the other mages of Fairy Tail lacked. Her combat ability was beyond doubt.
Becoming an S-Class Mage meant stepping onto the same level as those four.
