"Honored Envoys, my name is Gerda. I wasn't supposed to leave the village, but Lola is about to die."
Under Mash's questioning—or perhaps because of their identities as Envoys—the girl quickly revealed her name and why she had come here. A friend of hers in the village was gravely ill. Since she could not wait for the Envoys to come and treat her, Gerda had sneaked out to gather medicinal herbs and bring them back to cure her friend.
"Where are the adults?" Mash asked in confusion.
"The adults all have things to do. Aren't the Envoys cold? This is my first time outside. I heard it was very cold out here, so I dressed warmly." Gerda looked extremely excited.
Mash and Ritsuka had been listening to her talk about things they did not understand with smiles on their faces, but then they both let out deep sighs. Gerda was adorable, but the more adorable she was, the sadder they felt. Once the Lostbelt was severed, this lovely girl would disappear.
"Don't look so gloomy. I might not be able to save everyone, but saving one or two people won't be a problem. Think about A-Nui and Tasuke."
Seeing their expressions turn so serious, Shen Fei smiled as he spoke. Unlike the Yaga from the previous Lostbelt, the people in this Lostbelt were human. Taking some of them away would not be a problem.
The biggest issue with the Yaga was that their appearances differed too greatly from humans. If they appeared in Pan-Human History, it would cause enormous problems. This was not the world of Arknights, where no one cared what race you were. If Terra did not have Oripathy, Seaborn, Fiends, and the like, it would have been a world capable of embracing every race.
"Really? Thank you."
