The Most Yin Energy

Stepping out of his bedroom and looking up, Zhou Yi saw that the sacred aura hadn't yet begun to glow. It seemed he wasn't too late; he definitely didn't want to be late on his first day of duty.

Zhou Yi pushed open the courtyard gate and headed towards the Provincial Governor's Office.

Upon arriving at the East Courtyard, Zhou Yi saw Uncle Du already standing in the plaza. Scattered around the plaza were a few other people.

Zhou Yi walked towards Uncle Du, greeted him, and then quietly stood to the side.

Du Wei also nodded at Zhou Yi before lowering his head and drawing something on a piece of paper.

Gradually, as time passed, more and more people gathered in the plaza. Eventually, they divided into five small teams, each with about twenty-odd people, standing distinctly in the plaza.

Zhou Yi observed the leaders of the other teams. They were all around Uncle Du's age, seemingly having earned their positions through sheer longevity.

Next, the captains gathered, divided the patrol territories, and then separated to return to their respective teams.

Du Wei also walked back to his team and began assigning patrol duties. This was similar to Green Bamboo Village, but with a difference: Luoshi City was too large, and the Provincial Governor's Office didn't have many personnel. Thus, patrols were usually conducted alone.

Zhou Yi also received his patrol assignment for the night. He had been worried about getting lost since he wasn't familiar with the routes, which would be embarrassing. But just as he was about to set off, Du Wei called him back and handed him the paper he had been drawing on earlier.

Zhou Yi took it and saw it was a route map, with all the street names clearly marked. A wave of gratitude washed over him.

"Uncle Du, thank you," Zhou Yi said, holding up the route map to Du Wei.

Du Wei simply waved his hand. "You're my nephew, what's there to thank? Alright, hurry along now."

Zhou Yi nodded and prepared to leave. Just as he was about to depart, Du Wei called him again, pulled him aside, and whispered, "If you encounter any Weirdness, remember to protect yourself first. Don't try to be a hero."

"Understood!" Zhou Yi said solemnly.

This time, Zhou Yi finally walked out of the Provincial Governor's Office. He held the route map in front of him, checking the street names as he walked to ensure he wouldn't get lost.

Afterward, Zhou Yi began his patrol along the designated streets. After the first round, he had already memorized his patrol route.

He then put away the route map and prepared for his second patrol. It was already deep into the night.

As Zhou Yi was on his second patrol, he felt a gust of cold wind. Instantly, his body flickered, and he was no longer in his original spot.

Turning around, he stared at the empty space in front of him. There was nothing there, yet Zhou Yi's spiritual sense kept warning him that something was present.

Within his perception, Zhou Yi "saw" what appeared to be a mud-like creature in front of him, constantly dripping something from its entire body, which made Zhou Yi feel disgusted.

Zhou Yi couldn't tell which end was the head or the tail of this Weirdness.

The monster seemed to realize Zhou Yi could see it and turned to flee into a nearby alley.

Zhou Yi used his footwork to pursue, but once inside the alley, he lost sight of the Weirdness.

Just then, another cold wind swept over him. Zhou Yi turned his head, dodging the attack. He then realized the direction the Weirdness had attacked from was the wall.

At this point, Zhou Yi was somewhat annoyed by the Weirdness's surprise attacks. He couldn't help but stimulate his Vital Energy and threw a punch at the wall.

After the punch, the wall was covered in cracks. Simultaneously, a roar echoed in Zhou Yi's ears. It seemed the Weirdness was indeed hiding within the wall.

Zhou Yi's punch had forced the Weirdness out, allowing him to perceive it with his mental energy again.

Seeing that Zhou Yi was blocking the alley entrance, the Weirdness roared at him. The sound of its roar entered Zhou Yi's mind, feeling incredibly grating.

Immediately, Zhou Yi used his Vital Energy to block his ears. Once he could no longer hear the Weirdness's cries, Zhou Yi began to activate his Indestructible Golden Body, intending to end this quickly.

Zhou Yi's body rapidly grew, quickly exceeding two meters. His massive frame almost filled the entire alley, his muscles bulging, veins surfacing on them, like a living King Kong.

Seeing that its roars no longer affected Zhou Yi, the Weirdness charged at him. As it neared Zhou Yi, it suddenly rose, attempting to leap over him and escape.

Zhou Yi wouldn't let it succeed. He immediately extended his palm, as large as a fan, and swung it upwards.

"Got you!!!"

Zhou Yi roared. The sensation in his hand was strange; the Weirdness was slippery, constantly secreting some substance, but under Zhou Yi's immense strength, it couldn't break free.

He grabbed the Weirdness and slammed it onto the ground. The blue stone bricks shattered. The Weirdness struggled even more violently in Zhou Yi's grasp after being attacked, but Zhou Yi wouldn't let it go. He gathered all his Vital Energy into his fist and punched the Weirdness.

This Weirdness was clearly not as durable as the one from yesterday. After just one punch, it stopped struggling, as if dead.

However, Zhou Yi hadn't heard the system notification. He continued to throw punch after punch at the Weirdness in his hand.

The Weirdness seemed to shrink with each blow. By the end, only something resembling a layer of skin remained in Zhou Yi's hand.

"Yin Energy +800"

At this moment, the system notification finally sounded. The Yin Energy obtained from this Weirdness was actually three hundred more than the one from yesterday, yet Zhou Yi felt this one was much easier to deal with, not even causing much of a disturbance. Zhou Yi was puzzled.

After collecting the layer of skin dropped by the Weirdness, Zhou Yi left the area. As for the destruction caused by the fight, it was typically handled by the authorities.

At this point, Zhou Yi noticed that the door to a house by the roadside was wide open. Before he could get close, he smelled a scent of blood.

Inside, the room was filled with minced meat and blood. A family of three sat around a table, covered in wounds. Their eyeballs were long gone, yet they were still feeling around the table with their hands, picking up pieces of flesh and stuffing them into their mouths.

Zhou Yi's eyes turned bloodshot at the sight. Hearing a sound from above, he looked up and saw a Weirdness, like a child, sitting on the roof beam, cackling at the scene below.

It then turned its head towards Zhou Yi. This Weirdness also had no eyes, but its dark, hollow sockets stared at Zhou Yi, making his hair stand on end.

Zhou Yi clenched his fists tightly, directly activating his Indestructible Golden Body form. He crouched down and leaped towards the roof beam. Seeing Zhou Yi jump, the Weirdness didn't dodge. Zhou Yi's fist passed right through it.

Zhou Yi roared as he attacked the Weirdness, which was now being toyed with like a plaything.

"Feel their fear."

Zhou Yi said calmly.

Then, the Dragon-Elephant phantoms behind Zhou Yi rushed towards the Weirdness. A dragon and an elephant tore at its body until it was ripped to shreds, and then swallowed the torn pieces. Only a terrified head remained.

"Yin Energy +1500"

A wave of weakness washed over Zhou Yi's body. It seemed that using Divine Abilities still placed too much of a burden on his current body.
