Gu Lingyuan publicly held the position of Old Clan Mother of the Chen Clan and was treated as Chen Badao’s mother. She regarded Chen Wen as disobedient and repeatedly sought to suppress or kill him, claiming her actions protected the Chen Clan’s greater interests. Chen Badao ultimately condemned her for personally intervening twice to kill his son. 130 131

After learning that Chen Wen could defeat a Triple Nirvana Realm cultivator in one move and break through four minor realms consecutively, she was visibly shocked. Even so, she attended the Ye Clan’s Inheritance Assembly specifically to see him fail and openly mocked him. 117 123

Chen Wen’s acquisition of the Chaos Inheritance overturned her expectations.
