Seeing the two hotheaded men curse at each other and start looking ready to fight again, Smile sensed trouble and hurriedly stepped forward, placing herself between them.
There was no helping it—they could not fight anymore. If they kept going, the newly opened relic gate would be repaired by the Legendary Level magic array itself.
Besides... when Smile had landed on the battlefield just now, although Punk and Kane had both stopped attacking in time, several spells from the Legendary spellcaster had still struck the maiden goddess head-on.
Even now, Smile could still feel a dull ache in her internal organs. She had no desire to go through another experience like this.
So, before the atmosphere could grow any tenser, Smile, still standing between the two powerhouses, quickly shouted:
"Shut up, both of you! Are you still going to fight? If you do, I won't keep helping you put divine protection around that relic to shield it from the aftermath of your battle!"
All right, Smile's words really were the most effective way to stop a fight. Without her helping to clean up afterward, the Legendary Mage and Legendary Knight truly could not keep fighting. Going all out beside a dangerous and mysterious relic? Was that some efficient method of mutual destruction?
Therefore, after the maiden goddess issued her "final warning," Punk and Kane stopped provoking each other.
As always, it was precisely because both of them were, in a sense, madmen of the Chaos Faction that they were wary of each other. Angering a powerful madman was dangerous at any time. It simply was not worth it over the outcome of a verbal clash.
"The relic will probably remain open for around three minutes, but because of a certain idiot's actions, we've already wasted a great deal of time.
