Background / History

Smile was born Alice-Salatila into the fallen family founded by the God of Red Sands. During her childhood, she survived as a thief and learned to treat personal value as protection against stronger people. She adopted the name “Smile” as a reminder to face danger and ambition without hesitation. 498

Kane Bisadas located her as a potential Divine Son and brought her to Punk to negotiate access to the God of Red Sands’ legacy. Though only a Journeyman rogue, Smile withstood Punk’s killing intent and resisted his attempt to reduce her to a puppet, correctly recognizing that magical control would prevent her from entering the Divine Kingdom. 498 499

She used the ancestral legends of her family to negotiate for the divine office rather than ordinary treasure. The legends taught that the Judgment Eye Contract was the only trustworthy contract and that the Divine Kingdom held the means for a descendant to become powerful. 499 500

During the search for the legacy, Smile was captured by Claire but escaped after killing him. She later restored her divine bloodline by devouring souls and entered the God of Red Sands’ Divine Kingdom, though control of that kingdom belonged to Kane under their contract. 559 563 564 567

After ascending directly from a weak rogue to divinity, Smile struggled with the divine office’s influence on her personality. Her faith and divine authority encouraged an arrogant “Queen” persona, although she retained enough self-awareness to recognize and restrain these episodes. 690 724

Appearance

Smile appears as a beautiful young woman of about nineteen, with an outwardly proud and enigmatic bearing. Her appearance remains youthful even after becoming a deity. 498 1210

  • Light pink or crimson twin-tailed hair. 498 711 1210
  • Blood-red, ruby-like eyes. 498 711
  • Pale, white-jade skin. 498
  • Usually wears short leather clothing rather than formal royal or divine attire. 498 690 711
  • Her later divine attire includes crimson-patterned leather clothing and a red trench coat. 690 711

Personality

Smile is intensely ambitious and regards power as the only reliable escape from vulnerability. She stated that if she could not become a powerhouse, she would rather die, and repeatedly accepts danger in pursuit of advancement. 499 500

Despite her bravado, she is calculating rather than reckless. As a weak rogue, she survived through negotiation, careful evaluation of stronger opponents, and an understanding that usefulness can secure safety. Her later plans against Punk likewise rely on manipulation and indirect tactics rather than direct confrontation. 498 1210 1211

Her divine office amplifies her pride into an aloof, queenly personality. She can become hostile, arrogant, and unstable, but her strong will allows her to regain rationality after recognizing the change. 690 711

  • Curious about unfamiliar things, including Vector, the talking magic crow. 499
  • Resilient under threats, torture, and mental coercion. 498 499
  • Greedy and impatient when seeking resources or treasure. 567 1313
  • Aware of her shortcomings when confronted with genuinely experienced Legendary combatants. 724
  • Detached from her worshippers and angered by the brutality of her own cult. 815

  • Devoured multiple souls to complete four bloodline restorations. 564
  • Devoured the soul of a Master-level stealth expert with Punk’s assistance. 564
  • Soul-devouring carries the risk of a clash of wills and loss of identity, but Smile relies on exceptional willpower to endure it. 520

Rogue and Stealth Techniques

Smile began as a rogue and favors stealth-assassination tactics, though she initially lacked combat experience and reliable mastery of shadow skills. 498 546 713

  • Uses a Legendary Divine Spell to conceal herself for a short period. 713
  • Her concealment is comparable to the hiding methods of Legendary rogues when properly maintained. 779
  • Her stealth can be overcome by highly capable diviners, including Azterlan and Punk. 714 777
  • Initially had no equipment and could fail even basic shadow-skill use under combat pressure. 546

Divine Spells

Transcendent Divine Power

Smile’s highest-grade divine spells require Transcendent Divine Power, a limited strategic resource.

  • She accumulated only thirteen portions over ten thousand years. 746
  • Two portions were consumed during the Netheril ruins expedition, leaving eleven. 746
  • Unlike Punk and Kane, she cannot freely expend finishing techniques without serious cost. 746

Strategy and Deception

Smile compensates for unfavorable strength gaps with indirect tactics and careful battlefield planning. 1210 1211

  • Investigated Altar Canyon covertly after suspecting Kane’s involvement in its abnormalities. 714

  • Divine curse potion — Used to severely weaken Keishanoa and Ditben without immediately killing them. 1210

Relationships

  • Punk / “Whispers of Destruction” — Former ally and frequent adversary; he initially treated her as a useful tool, later became the target of her schemes and attacks. 498 499 1210 1215
  • Kane Bisadas — Contract-bound ally who found Smile and helped her pursue the God of Red Sands’ legacy; their relationship is mutually useful but distrustful. 498 691 711
  • Claire — Captured Smile after recognizing her importance; Smile later escaped and claimed to have killed him. 546 559 563
  • Golan Ya — Smile’s former savior became her High Priestess and built a harsh cult in Smile’s name, provoking Smile’s anger. 815
  • Azterlan — A Legendary mage who exposed Smile’s stealth, attempted to recruit her, and offered help with the punishment imposed by her divine office. 777 779 780
  • Vector — A talking magic crow whose curiosity drew Smile’s interest; later assigned as her protector. 499 506

God Country and Divine Office Crisis

As the God of Red Sands, Smile ignores her believers while Golan Ya consolidates the Red Stone Plane under an oppressive cult. Meanwhile, leaving her Divine Kingdom too long exposes her to punishment from her divine office, which drains her divine power. 764 815

God of Slaughter
