Background / History
First Life
Ji Ye was a modern office worker before transmigrating into the body of a weak scholar in the collapsing Great Liang Dynasty. Unable to secure work or survive through learning alone, he became the beggar leader “Dog-Scraps” in Black Stone County, learning cruelty and manipulation to survive. A barbarian assault eventually destroyed his refuge and forced him south. 1
He later worked as a night watchman and practiced stolen basic martial techniques in secret. After fifteen years, he cultivated a trace of Qi sense, only to be beaten and discarded in a mass grave after defending the mute girl who depended on him. At death, the Reincarnation System offered him another life and the Savage Bull Strength talent. 1
Second Life
Reborn into his earlier frail scholar body with enhanced strength, Ji Ye immediately reversed his fate against One-Eye, crushing the bully's wrist and taking his clothing, money, and dagger. He entered the Black Stone County yamen after lifting a hundred-jin stone lock and was assigned to Team D under Zhao Ba Pi. 2 3
Ji Ye purchased the Mountain Splitting Saber Technique from Wang Meng, then earned fear and authority in the Ghost Market by defeating Iron Pagoda and forcing the Black Tiger Gang to retreat. He pursued stronger body-tempering methods as the gang's retaliation escalated. 5 6 8
After intercepting the Black Tiger Gang's medicinal shipment, Ji Ye freed trafficked children and retained weapons proving the gang's barbarian connections. He used the stolen medicine to strengthen himself, fought beside Wang Meng during the yamen assault, and killed Zhao Hei Hu. 10 12
Ji Ye seized the Black Tiger Gang's wealth and manuals, trained local private soldiers, and entered the Bone Forging Realm. During the barbarian war, he fought Hulei despite the gap between Bone Forging and Organ Tempering, then joined Qin Wuji's Assault Camp as a Centurion in exchange for the latter half of the Tiger Roar Golden Bell Shield. 13 14 21 23
After Qin Wuji's adjutant sacrificed the Assault Camp for merit, Ji Ye killed the adjutant in revenge. Qin Wuji then killed him with a sword strike infused with peak Organ Tempering Internal Strength. 28
Third Life
Ji Ye selected three copies of the Purple Rare talent Martial Arts Through Divinity for his third life. Rather than relying on brute strength, he non-lethally incapacitated One-Eye through precise control and chose to build power through skill, knowledge, and resources. 29
He defeated Wang Meng with a dry twig, healed Wang's crippled leg, completed and improved the Severing Gate Saber, and used the county yamen's authority to seize Crimson Blood Ginseng from the Black Tiger Gang. The medicine allowed him to repair his body and enter early Skin Grinding. 30 31 32 33
After taking the Black Tiger Gang's assets, Ji Ye anticipated Black Stone County's fall and left Wang Meng to organize an evacuation. Traveling under the name Ye Wen, he spent two years challenging martial arts schools and absorbing their techniques. 37
In Tiandu City, Ji Ye entered Grand Princess Xiao Hongxiu's service to gain access to the Imperial Palace's Grand Library. He killed the barbarian spy Tuli, studied the Supreme Induction Chapter in Tianlu Pavilion, and was appointed Xiao Hongxiu's Sword Attendant. 40 41 42 43
Ji Ye publicly defeated Qin Wuji at the Qin family's banquet, leaving a scar on his face. The Qin family then arranged for him to command the undermanned Divine Machine Battalion at Luoyan Pass, intending to use him against the Barbarians. 47 48 49
Appearance
Ji Ye initially appears as a pale, underfed scholar with damaged lungs, frostbitten hands, and a body too weak for ordinary labor. Repeated cultivation and medicinal refinement transform him into a lean, controlled fighter whose strength is concealed beneath an unremarkable frame. 1 33
- Often wears plain or washed-out scholar's robes rather than martial finery. 33 38
- Carries a worn sword, later identified as Bushou, usually wrapped in cloth. 45 46
- Develops bronze-toned skin and fluid, tightly controlled musculature through cultivation. 37
- His presence shifts from that of a sickly scholar to a “sheathed sword” after rebuilding his body. 33
Personality
Ji Ye is shaped by deprivation, repeated death, and the certainty that weakness invites exploitation. He is pragmatic with money, authority, and violence, but is not indiscriminately cruel: he hides an old man's remaining cured meat during a yamen search and orders trafficked children released despite the danger of exposing the Black Tiger Gang. 4 10
He approaches power strategically rather than sentimentally. Ji Ye buys techniques, trades service for cultivation resources, exploits his enemies' fears, and treats political appointments as opportunities to overturn the schemes behind them. 5 23 32 48
His defining trait is refusal. He refuses to remain powerless, to accept the Heavenly Dao's indifference, or to become a tool wielded by stronger men. This resolve fuels both his ruthlessness and his willingness to endure pain, risk death, and confront opponents beyond his realm. 2 28 50
Abilities & Skills
Reincarnation System
The Reincarnation System activates upon Ji Ye's death, evaluates his completed life, and grants talent selections for the next one.
- His first death grants Savage Bull Strength. 1
- His second death earns an S-rank evaluation and a Purple Rare talent draw. 28 29
- He retains the experience, memories, grudges, and strategic knowledge accumulated across lives. 29 46
Brute Force x3
During his second life, Ji Ye's Savage Bull Strength manifests as Brute Force x3, giving him a 90% strength increase and unusually powerful muscle fibers. 2 11
- Lifts a hundred-jin stone lock while still appearing frail. 2
- Defeats Iron Pagoda by breaking his saber and sending him flying with a shoulder strike. 6
- Forces potent medicine into his muscles through brute suppression, creating dense flesh armor. 11
- Limitation: His early reliance on raw power leaves him vulnerable to refined martial techniques and Internal Strength. 5 28
Martial Arts Through Divinity x3
Ji Ye's three stacked Purple talents grant extraordinary comprehension and precise control of his body. 29
- Masters martial techniques after seeing or using them once, then deduces, fuses, and improves them through repeated practice. 29
- Raises internal-energy cultivation speed by 1500%. 29
- Controls muscles, nerves, blood flow, heart rate, pores, and hormone secretion at microscopic precision. 29 33
- Uses the Martial Dao Heavenly Eye to deconstruct opponents' force generation and magnify flaws in their movements. 29 32
- Limitation: His comprehension can exceed the capacity of his physical shell, and intense use damages his sea of consciousness. 31 43
Swordsmanship
Ji Ye favors the shortest and most efficient path to a killing strike, combining his Heavenly Eye with extreme bodily control.
- Defeats Wang Meng with a dry twig in a single exchange. 30
- Neutralizes Liu Bai's mechanical sword and identifies the mechanism behind it. 38
- Develops killing-oriented sword intent from the fragmented ancient sword manual and the Supreme Induction Chapter. 38 42
- Defeats Qin Wuji in their duel by evading Crimson Sun Swordplay and cutting his face. 47
- Demonstrates the Way of Killing with a strike that cuts through a pond and turns golden leaves white. 39
Medical Knowledge
Ji Ye applies microscopic perception and acupoint knowledge as effectively as martial skill.
- Identifies that Wang Meng's crippled leg is obstructed by stagnant blood rather than irreversible meridian necrosis. 31
- Restores Wang Meng's leg through three precise finger strikes and recommends subsequent treatment. 31
- Uses anatomical knowledge to disable stronger opponents through vulnerable acupoints. 29 32
Cultivation Techniques
Ji Ye collects, improves, and combines external and internal martial methods.
- Mountain Splitting Saber Technique — His first formal killing art; channels his brute strength through six wide, forceful saber forms. 5
- Tiger Demon Bone Forging Fist — Strengthens fascia and bone marrow through tiger-like postures; carries him into Bone Forging. 13 14
- Tiger Roar Golden Bell Shield — Hard-body technique that develops Iron Skin and is intended to support later advancement toward Organ Tempering. 23 26
- Severing Gate Saber — Ji Ye repairs its force-generation route and creates three additional moves: Look Back at the Moon, Snow Blocks Blue Pass, and Severing Gate and Ruining Household. 31 33
- Myriad Forms Furnace Body — Used to trap and refine innate qi into his own blood-red True Qi rather than allowing it to return to heaven and earth. 50
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Bushou (Unwilling Bone) — A cracked, seemingly broken sword embodying Ji Ye's resolve to live. After drawing Qin Wuji's blood, its cracks lessen and a dark-red color emerges. 46 48
- Iron sword — A cheap fifty-copper sword carried when Ji Ye first arrives in Tiandu City. 38
- Sword Attendant jade tablet — Xiao Hongxiu's token of appointment, granting Ji Ye fourth-grade-equivalent status in the capital. 43
- Tiger Tally — Identifies Ji Ye as commander of the Divine Machine Battalion. 49
- Xuan Iron armor — Issued to him after his Iron Skin breakthrough in the Assault Camp. 26

- Wang Meng — Initially the constable who tests and employs Ji Ye; later becomes his ally, subordinate, and devoted follower after Ji Ye heals his leg and improves his saber art. 3 31 49
- Pockmarked — Ji Ye's trusted subordinate during his second life, involved in his militia and Assault Camp operations; dies alongside the camp before Ji Ye's second death. 13 23 28
- Xiao Hongxiu — Grand Princess and political patron. She grants Ji Ye library access and appoints him Sword Attendant, while also using him against the Qin family. 40 43 48
- Qin Wuji — Ji Ye's principal enemy across lives. Qin kills him in his second life; in the third, Ji Ye publicly defeats and scars him. 28 47
- Qin Muzhi — Qin family patriarch who recommends Ji Ye as Divine Machine Battalion commander, intending to turn him into a disposable weapon against the Barbarians. 48
- Eunuch Zhao — Tianlu Pavilion's guardian, who recognizes Ji Ye's insight into the Supreme Induction Chapter and warns him that fortune and calamity follow one's own actions. 42 43
