Background / History
Qin Wuji arrived at Black Stone County leading the Zhenbei Iron Cavalry after the barbarian forces had begun retreating. He claimed the credit for lifting the siege and repelling Hulei's forces, eclipsing Ji Ye and the local defenders' contribution. 22
He subsequently absorbed Ji Ye's surviving militia into his force, confiscating their equipment and placing them in the hazardous Assault Camp. In exchange for the Black Tiger Gang's remaining hidden networks, he appointed Ji Ye as a Centurion and provided the latter half of the Tiger Roar Golden Bell Shield technique. 23
Qin later ordered Ji Ye to destroy Zhao Family Fortress under the pretext of suppressing barbarian collaborators, chiefly to seize its grain and supplies. After the Assault Camp completed the raid, Qin's troops surrounded the fortress and accused Ji Ye's men of collusion, embezzlement, and massacring the Zhao family. 26 27
When Ji Ye broke through the ambush and killed Qin's adjutant, Qin personally intervened. Already at peak Organ Tempering, he killed Ji Ye with a single sword strike through the heart. 28
Appearance
Qin Wuji is a strikingly handsome young man who presents himself with cultivated nobility and immaculate composure. He is frequently associated with white clothing and an outwardly gentle smile that contrasts with his coldness.
- Wears white robes described as unstained by dust. 41 45 46
- Has an almost flawless, exquisitely handsome face. 45
- Carries himself with quiet elegance and an imposing presence. 45 46
- Retains a deep facial wound after Ji Ye cuts his left cheek during their duel. 47
Personality
Qin Wuji is calm, proud, and ruthless. He treats military authority as a means to seize resources and eliminate liabilities, using Ji Ye's Assault Camp for dangerous work before arranging its extermination. 23 26 27
He favors controlled, public displays of power over crude methods when his family prestige is involved. Rather than assassinate Ji Ye inside the Grand Princess's protection, he arranges a Sword Appreciation Gathering intended to cripple him openly before influential witnesses. 43
His composure conceals intense vindictiveness. After Ji Ye kills Tuli and escapes Zuisheng Tower, Qin orders a deep investigation into the swordsman's identity; after being wounded publicly, he accepts the temporary halt to their duel but promises repayment. 41 43 47

Story Role / Major Arcs
Black Stone County and the Assault Camp
Qin Wuji enters the story as the cavalry commander who takes public credit for Black Stone County's salvation. He turns Ji Ye's survivors into expendable soldiers, benefits from Ji Ye's knowledge of the Black Tiger Gang, and supplies him with cultivation resources only while he remains useful. 22 23
His command to annihilate Zhao Family Fortress exposes his willingness to massacre civilians for military provisions. Once the fortress is taken, he orders the Assault Camp's execution and personally kills Ji Ye after the latter retaliates. 26 27 28
Zuisheng Tower Incident
In the capital, Qin encounters Ji Ye again at Zuisheng Tower while Ji Ye assassinates the barbarian spy Tuli. Qin attempts to kill the escaping swordsman with an Internal Strength-infused wine cup, but Ji Ye deflects it and escapes. Qin then orders an investigation into this unknown swordsman. 40 41 43
Sword Appreciation Gathering
Seeking a public and dignified revenge, Qin invites Ji Ye to the Qin family's Sword Appreciation Gathering during his grandmother's birthday celebration. He duels Ji Ye with Chixiao and Crimson Sun Swordplay, but Ji Ye evades his killing moves and leaves a deep cut across his face. 43 45 47
The Old Madam ends the duel before Qin can retaliate, forcing him to accept the humiliation in public. The wound damages both Qin's personal prestige and the Qin family's image in the capital. 47 48
