Background

Xiao Huo was a young member of the Xiao Family whose cultivation was obstructed for three years because the power he accumulated was continually absorbed by an unknown force. Once he could cultivate normally again, he progressed at an extraordinary rate with help from the Chat Group and the resources it provided. 384

Concerned that the Xiao Family lacked a top-tier guardian, Xiao Huo asked Jiang Zhen to rescue his ancestor Xiao Chen from the Pure Lotus Demon Flame’s realm. He also accepted Old Man Yao as his teacher after making clear that Yao’s safety depended on becoming his master. 314 315

After Xiao Chen’s return, Xiao Huo rejected the idea of relying on the Xiao Family’s inherited core techniques.
