Background / History

Kaikei graduated from the Ninja Academy while physically frail, thin, and short on physical energy. Though his parents were alive and he had a home, their intense affection for each other left him feeling like an unwanted “third person” in the household; he consequently kept a room at Kikyo Orphanage and was regarded as its first “orphan.” 5 6 9

Yakushi Nonō originally found Kaikei alone in the forest outside Kikyo Castle, without identification, and took him in before the Nara Clan intervened. He grew close to Nonō and the orphanage, offering to help if its funding ever became a problem. 9

After entering active ninja life, Kaikei built his strength around the Nara Clan’s Shadow Secret Techniques, the Lazy Ghost System, and relentless ninjutsu research. A Chakra Crystal dramatically enlarged his reserves, allowing techniques that had previously been impractical to become regular combat options. 33
