The Battle Tournament used vastly different arenas for each power class.
Back in the Nitrogen Grade, a single asteroid had been enough to host several matches at once.
At the Krypton-level, though, they needed an entire planet for a proper arena.
The first match after the opening ceremony was Yak's.
That was tradition. They deliberately scheduled a few heavyweight matches on the first day to kick things off.
Boom! Yak landed on a Desert Planet fifty thousand kilometers in diameter. His towering body stood straight, the massive dark-red horn on his head piercing the clouds.
His opponent was only five hundred meters tall. Standing in the desert and looking up, he could see nothing but Yak's dark, abyss-like face gazing down at him.
"Yak, I turned them down when they told me to fight the opening match. Didn't do much good, unfortunately... Just... take your time beating me." His opponent was a member of the Heavenly Heart Immortal Clan, his body resembling a hazy silhouette of the starry sky.
Yak stood motionless with the light behind him, looking like a sheer cliff.
The Heavenly Heart Immortal sighed. Fighting Yak in the first match practically makes this an exhibition.
In terms of strength, he ranked only tenth at the Krypton-level. Nobody expected him to win. He just needed to avoid losing too badly.
The body Yak had brought here had been weakened, too. Its maximum output was only 68.6 billion tons of TNT, roughly the same as his own.
But Yak's control over energy was monstrous. Releasing a Genesis-level Death Ray barehanded—what did that even mean? That was an entry-level weapon for a microscopic-particle civilization, and Yak could fire one from his finger! "With so many people watching, I'd better show what I can really do..."
"Sky-Detached Flame Light Sea!"
