Eating When Hungry
"What the hell is that?" Ron's eyes widened.
"Merlin— " Hermione gasped.
While the Dark Wizard was busy casting the Stunning Spell, Justin had already knelt on one knee, his hands firmly gripping the Muggle weapon, the sights firmly fixed on the Dark Wizard's shoulder.
Even at this moment, he still remembered Harry's instructions: neither side was allowed to use any killing Charms.
Therefore, he cannot aim at a person's head or heart.
He pulled the trigger steadily.
Bang!
After a loud bang, a bright yellow bullet shot out of the barrel at a speed far exceeding that of ordinary Charms, heading straight for the Dark Wizard's shoulder!
The Dark Wizard's pupils contracted sharply; he hadn't anticipated this type of attack at all.
He wanted to do something, but his Charms had just been cast, and it was too late to dodge or set up a defense; the bullet was too fast.
He managed to turn to the side, the bullet grazing his shoulder and leaving a trail of blood.
Although it didn't hit a vital spot, the intense pain caused him to pause, completely disrupting the rhythm of his wand swings.
"Epelliarmus (Disarming Charm)!"
Hannah had been waiting for this opportunity!
In the instant the Dark Wizard froze from being shot, her prepared Disarming Charm struck his wrist holding the staff with perfect accuracy!
"Ugh!"
The Dark Wizard groaned in pain, and his wand flew high into the air from his hand.
Eat when you're hungry.
"PetrificusTotalus (Full Body-Bind)!"
Justin regained control almost simultaneously, and the petrifying light from his wand struck the opponent's torso precisely.
The Dark Wizard, still visibly shocked and in pain from being shot, stiffened instantly and fell straight backward.
With a thud, the Dark Wizard collapsed to the ground.
The battle was decided at this moment, Room of Requirement fell silent.
Everyone stared in disbelief at the scene. Hannah was slightly out of breath, her wand still pointing at her fallen opponent. Justin slowly stood up, like a cowboy in the West, held the pistol, which was still emitting a faint blue smoke, in front of him, blew on it, then skillfully removed the magazine, checked it, and put it back into his robe. His movements were so fluid that it seemed he had practiced countless times.
The Dark Wizard, with a small bullet hole in his shoulder, lay stiffly on the ground.
After a few seconds of silence, a heated discussion suddenly broke out in the spectator seats.
"Merlin's beard! What's that?!" Pansy asked.
"A gun! Muggle gun! He used a gun!" Neville shouted.
"Is this... is this compliant with regulations?!" Hermione asked, frowning.
"But he won—" Ron murmured.
Harry was stunned for several seconds before he came to his senses from this completely unexpected scene.
He strode forward, first waving his wand to heal the Dark Wizard's shoulder wound with Healing Charm, and then removing the Petrifying Spell from his body.
The Dark Wizard sat up, clutching his shoulder, which had stopped bleeding but was still throbbing, and looked at Justin with obvious surprise.
"Justin," Harry turned to Justin, his voice steady, "I think we need an explanation."
His gaze swept over the spot where Justin had put the robe back in its inner pocket.
The Room of Requirement fell silent instantly, all eyes focused on the two Hufflepuff.
Before Ron could even close his mouth, Hermione's brows were furrowed as she seemed to be quickly thinking about the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Magic, while Draco's gaze, though somewhat disdainful, was still very curious, and even a little eager to try out Muggle weapons.
Justin took a deep breath, his cheeks still flushed with excitement, but his tone was clear and calm.
"Harry, you know I'm Muggle-born. You could say that even after six years at Hogwarts, my knowledge of guns far surpasses my knowledge of wands—my father is a shooting enthusiast, and I've been exposed to it since I was a child."
He paused, glanced at Hannah beside him whose gaze was as resolute as a dragon standing in its Dragon Position, and continued, "After becoming a wizard, I've found that most wizards—even the experienced ones—when faced with high-speed, completely non-magical physical attacks, their first reaction is often to rely on magical defense, lacking preparation for the speed, trajectory, and suddenness of such attacks. Hannah and I have discussed this many times, and we feel that, under certain tactics, this might become a surprising variable."
Hannah continued, "We know this is unconventional and might even be controversial. But we've carefully studied the dueling rules. Harry, you emphasized that you can use any spell you know, except for Dark Arts," and there's no restriction that the attack must be purely magical.
Harry raised an eyebrow.
Oh, you've been waiting for me here?
It's true that Dark Arts and deadly Charms are not allowed, but it doesn't say that guns are forbidden.
The silence that lasted a few seconds felt like an eternity.
Then, Harry suddenly laughed.
It wasn't a loud laugh, but a smile filled with amazement and great interest.
He turned to the entire student body, his voice clear and firm.
"Tonight, we witnessed many wonderful plays, but this pair— Hannah and Justin —showed us what true tactical wisdom really means to think outside the box!"
He walked to the center of the field and let the light sweep across every face.
"Battle is never about following the rules! It's about confrontation, strategy, and using all available resources and knowledge to achieve victory! Justin hasn't forgotten his roots, nor has he abandoned his unique knowledge and skills from another world just because he's become a wizard."
Instead, he considered how to combine it with magic to create an attack that the enemy could not anticipate at all, and that could turn the tide of battle at the crucial moment! And Hannah, she provided a solid and reliable magical foundation, creating the perfect opportunity for this strike to succeed!
"Is this compliant?" Harry paused for a moment after saying this. "Under tonight's rules, no Dark Arts was used, no permanent or fatal damage was caused, and the core winning strategy is still magic combined with it—it's completely compliant! Furthermore, it expands the boundaries of our understanding of wizarding combat!"
He looked at Justin, his eyes filled with approval. "Justin, your shot shattered not only the Dark Wizard's defensive rhythm, but also the wall of prejudice in many people's hearts!"
Finally, he addressed all the students again.
"Remember tonight! Remember this mindset! Your enemies won't attack you according to textbooks. In the future, you may face Dark Wizard, dark creatures, or other unknown threats. Your Charms, your Transfiguration, your Potions, your wisdom, and even any unique knowledge you possess from the Muggle world or other realms—as long as they are used properly and within the bounds of propriety—are all part of your arsenal! Flexibility, innovation, and knowing yourself and your enemy are the keys to survival and victory!"
"Alright!" Harry clapped his hands and spoke again, "Tonight's combat training session is over! Everyone go back and digest what you've seen and learned today. We'll continue next week at the same time!"
Harry noticed that after the dismissal was announced, the students surrounded Justin, asking him about the pistol, and some were even eager to buy one to study.
The one who had this bold idea was none other than Hermione.
After all, she was Muggle-born, and when it comes to handguns, no one knows more about them than her.
Professor Snape: Yes, yes, Miss Know-it-all -It-All knows again.
This did open a new world for Harry; the Muggle weapons could indeed have some unexpected effects.
or----
How about we get a pistol and show it to Mr. LeMay? Maybe he can enchant it, like increasing range, penetration, or damage, etc.
Indeed, it's not impossible.
When Harry returned home that night, he could still hear Seamus, Neville, and Ron still in bed, having a very heated discussion about the feasibility of using pistols in a duel.
Seamus, in particular, had a gleam in his eyes. After all, he came from a mixed family; his father was Muggle, and he had been fascinated by guns since childhood.
But then again, it's understandable; after all, what boy doesn't dream of playing with guns?
Early Saturday morning, he left Hogwarts Castle and walked alone across the meadow toward the edge of Hogsmeade village.
Mr. LeMay is quite free now. His magic workshop has grown to a huge scale, so he doesn't need to do everything himself. He has left most of the work to Steve.
When Harry arrived at his cottage, Mr. LeMay was sitting in front of the computer playing Civilization.
"Mr. LeMay," Harry called out to the internet-addicted old man who was engrossed in his game.
"Ah, Harry." LeMay turned around, a kind smile on his face, seemingly unsurprised by his arrival. "I heard you put on quite a lively practical lesson at Hogwarts last night?"
"How did you know?" Harry asked curiously.
"Of course I know," Mr. LeMay said with a smile. "Don't forget, I also occasionally go to video websites to have some fun."
Harry then remembered that the video from last night had been uploaded to a video website, and many wizards had a controversial attitude towards Justin's act of pulling out a pistol.
The principle that ancestral laws cannot be changed is correct.
"Then you should have seen the pistol Justin was holding." Harry smiled, pulled out the black pistol, and handed it to Mr. LeMay. "57 Pistol made by the Belgium FN Company. Would you like to take a look?"
"The Belgium FN Company Type 57?" LeMay took the sleek, matte black semi-automatic pistol. Instead of immediately inspecting it, he raised an eyebrow, a sly glint in his eyes. "5.7×28mm ammunition, SS190 Steel-Core Bullet. The penetration is indeed impressive. A component of the P90 submachine gun— Muggle never hesitate to go to great lengths to penetrate armor."
His tone was as calm as if he were commenting on a newly released flying broom. Clearly, this Alchemy, who had lived for over six hundred years, was not ignorant of the development of Muggle weaponry, and might even know more about it than most Muggle.
Harry paused for a moment, then chuckled, "Looks like you really do surf the internet a lot."
"We have to find some fun, and also find out what our 'neighbors' are up to."
LeMay said casually, and began to disassemble the gun in his hand. His movements were so skilled that it seemed as if he had disassembled it countless times. He did not use any tools. He simply brushed his fingertips lightly over the key parts, and with a slight click and a magical glow, the pistol was transformed into neatly arranged parts in his hand.
"Very ingenious." LeMay picked up the barrel, examined the rifling inside against the light, and then weighed the polymer frame of the gun in his hand. "Materials science has made great progress, with high-strength, lightweight non-metallic materials—however, for our purposes, the basic structure is sufficient; the materials need to be completely replaced."
He laid out the parts one by one on the padded workbench, then took out a pair of monocles that looked like they were woven from crystal and mithril wire from a box engraved with Runes and clipped them into his right eye socket.
Through the lens, he carefully examined each part, muttering analysis terms that Harry couldn't understand.
About ten minutes later, LeMay took off his monocle and looked at Harry.
"Harry, directly applying temporary enchantments, like Hardening Charm or Tracking Charm to bullets, is the simplest and most direct method, but also the least efficient and most unstable. What we need to do is reconstruct."
He picked up the barrel and showed it to Harry: "Let's transform it from a purely mechanical weapon into a platform that can store various Charms and release them when needed."
"Isn't that a wand?" Harry asked, scratching his head.
"No, no, no, no," said Mr. LeMay, shaking his head. "It's not another wand, but a weapon pre-loaded with Charms."
"Storing Charms?" Harry asked, intrigued, but then shrugged. "Actually, I don't think storing Charms is necessary. Storing bullets would be much more practical, since it doesn't require any expenditure. What do you think?"
"That's true." Mr. LeMay pondered. "The concept of Muggle bullets is indeed very suitable for combat, even killing; it's very efficient—let me think about it. Since you put it that way, we should start with the bullets themselves, rather than replacing them with pre-stored Charms."
Mr. LeMay turned around again and fiddled with something on the workbench.
After a while, he raised his head and looked at Harry.
"Following your ideas, I've redesigned this pistol," Mr. LeMay said with a smile. "It's now a completely new weapon platform capable of reliably and efficiently converting wizarding magic into directed kinetic energy, and can be imbued with different magical effects as needed."
"Really?" Harry asked, intrigued. "Tell me more about it."
LeMay picked up a blank sheet of paper and a mechanical Quill, and began to draw and explain.
"The main body of this gun, including the key load-bearing components, has been completely recast using my newly synthesized material. This alloy has an extraordinary affinity for and load-bearing capacity for magic, and its physical strength is more than twenty times that of ordinary steel, yet its weight is only one-third."
Although Harry didn't quite understand what Mr. LeMay said, he still thought it was amazing.
Is this the legendary Alchemy?
