Harry explained that Draco had insulted Hermione with a blood-purity slur, leading Snape to punish Draco before the Sorting ceremony. Harry, Ron, and Hermione returned to the Great Hall, where Draco warned that their conflict would continue.

  • Dumbledore asked Harry to explain the train incident, and Draco showed off the two-way mirror his father had given him.
