Background / History

Buzhou Mountain and the Alliance

Nuwa was born alongside her elder brother Fuxi in a blessed land hidden by an Innate Formation on Buzhou Mountain. Li Peng accidentally attacked their cave dwelling while searching for treasures, then offered Nuwa the Yin-Yang Jade Bracelet and presented the siblings with the Purple Ribbon Immortal Robe as compensation. Though initially reluctant to accept such rare treasures, Nuwa ultimately agreed when Li Peng threatened to discard them. 6

After Li Peng openly proposed that the three support one another in the dangerous Primordial Era, Nuwa and Fuxi accepted his alliance. Nuwa then preached the Way of Creation for five hundred years, allowing Li Peng and Fuxi to enter enlightenment; her sermon revealed that she had already grasped fluctuations of the Law of Creation while still in the Grand Unity realm. 6 7

Purple Heaven Palace

Nuwa attended Dao Ancestor Hongjun's teachings at Purple Heaven Palace with Li Peng, Fuxi, Xihe, and Changxi. Fuxi secured her the fifth seat beneath Hongjun's platform, placing her among the foremost listeners. 11

Hongjun later accepted Nuwa as a direct disciple after stating that she would accomplish a great future deed of merit. He subsequently granted her the Red Embroidered Ball and the River Mountains Societal Diagram, respectively described as offensive and defensive treasures. 19 20

Creation of the Human Race

After sensing a destined opportunity at Buzhou Mountain, Nuwa traveled there with Li Peng and obtained the purplish-green gourd from the Seven-Colored Gourd Vine. Li Peng also recovered the vine itself and the Nine Heavens Breathing Soil beneath it, both of which would become essential to Nuwa's future act of creation. 17 18

Ten thousand years later, Nuwa attempted to create life by molding ordinary soil, but every figure collapsed when infused with her Creation power. Li Peng provided Nine Heavens Breathing Soil and Three Lights Divine Water, explaining that ordinary materials could not bear her divine power. 29

Nuwa created the Human Race by mixing the soil and divine water with two drops of her own essence blood and two drops of Li Peng's. Using the Seven-Colored Gourd Vine, she formed thousands of humans in Innate Dao Body form. The newborn humans recognized Nuwa as their Saint Mother and Li Peng as their Saint Father. Nuwa also left behind a clone, created in her own likeness, to help protect the race. 30

The merit of creation enabled Nuwa to perfect the Law of Creation and ascend as the first Saint of the Primordial Era. Afterward, she and Li Peng moved the Human Race to the East Sea coast and entrusted its early development to Li Peng's clone, Li Wu. 31

Protector of Humanity

When a World-Ending Lightning Tribulation descended upon the Human Race after Li Wu created writing, Nuwa personally defended humanity. She used the Red Embroidered Ball to disperse repeated lightning dragons, then refused Hongjun's order to withdraw, declaring that she would not abandon the humans she had created. 34

Nuwa later joined Li Peng and Li Wu in authorizing Fuxi's establishment of the Human Religion, enabling Fuxi to gain the merit needed for sainthood. 37

Marriage, Mending the Heavens, and the New World

Nuwa married Li Peng alongside Houtu, Xihe, and Changxi in a ceremony held at the Human Race's ancestral land. 44

After Buzhou Mountain's fall damaged the heavens, Nuwa used the Law of Creation to place liquefied Five-Colored Divine Stone over the rupture. Her role in mending the heavens earned her a major share of Heavenly Dao merit and raised her cultivation to the middle stage of Saint. 70 71

Li Peng later gave Nuwa a Chaos Bead, which she preliminarily refined before accompanying him, Fuxi, Houtu, Xihe, Changxi, and Kong Xuan into the Chaos Void to witness the creation of a new Great Thousand World.
