Background / History

The Tianbao Supreme Sect was founded by its founding patriarch, who relied on a Heaven-Piercing Divine Ability and the Tianbao Tower to establish the sect. It was once regarded as the undisputed foremost Supreme Sect within Yan territory, though its prosperity later declined. 228

Its historical decline was worsened roughly two centuries ago, when internal and external troubles left it unable to retain control of resource-rich Yuanlin Dao, which was subsequently taken by the Taiyi Supreme Sect. The loss remains a major grievance among the sect’s older generation. 361

Despite its internal factionalism, the sect remains one of the Yan Kingdom’s six Supreme Sects. It commands immense accumulated resources, maintains authority over dozens of prefectures, and provides protection and recognition to subordinate sects in exchange for tribute. 159 171 190

The Tianbao Supreme Sect’s authority and resources are jointly contested by the Four Great Veins, which descend from four complete Sect-Protecting True Scripture inheritances. The Sect Master stands above the veins, but is either jointly recommended or selected through their competition. 206 226

Tianbao Tower

The Tianbao Tower, also called the Tianbao Pagoda, is the sect’s most important treasure. It is a Heaven-Piercing Spirit Treasure left by the founding patriarch and is counted among the thirteen Heaven-Piercing Spirit Treasures of the world. 205 297
