Ch. 380Glory Is My Life

Rayne arrived at the Deep Mud Swamp and found Emilith, Galadros, and Xindala gathered near the Ice Thorn Clan amid a large encampment of adventurers and knights. Emilith revealed that the newcomers, like her, had come to search for a dragon.

  • Rayne read Phyllis's diary and suspected Duke Redstone had begun secret magical research after returning from Longshande.
  • Rayne released the Wind Rider near the Deep Mud Swamp and traveled toward Emilith's location, where he noticed a road crowded with recent tracks.
  • A band of human cavalry asked Rayne for directions to the Ice Thorn Clan, then rode on toward the swamp.
  • Rayne reached the Ice Thorn Clan and found a large camp filled with adventurers, mercenaries, and Rose Knights from Brantania.
  • Rayne reunited with Galadros, Emilith, and Xindala, and Emilith told him that the gathered people had come to search for a dragon.

Ch. 381The Grail Knight

Rayne, Emilith, Xindala, and Galadros planned to search the Deep Mud Swamp for a Good Dragon while Brantania's Rose Knights pursued a Black Dragon who had swindled the kingdom's nobles. As they prepared to leave camp, a force of Wolf Riders and Wind Riders arrived, led by a Level 18 Shaman Priest.

  • Galadros told Rayne that a Black Dragon posing as Countess Ibician had swindled Brantania's wealthy people for over twenty years, prompting the Knight King to send Matthew Anselon and the Rose Knights to find her.
  • Emilith explained that Dragon's Call had once reacted to a Good Dragon in the swamp, but she could not tell whether it was still there or whether the Silver Dragon bonded to Matthew had caused the reaction.
  • Rayne rejected searching the World Mountain Range and decided the group would search the swamp for half a month before returning to Haitok.
  • As Rayne and the others prepared to leave camp, hundreds of Wolf Riders and more than a dozen Wind Riders approached, alarming the mercenaries and putting the Rose Knights on guard.
  • Rayne used the Soul Eye to identify the aged orc shaman accompanying the riders as a Level 18 Shaman Priest.

Ch. 382Melee Shaman

Rayne and his companions left the camp as High Priest Direkota arrived with the Wolf Riders, then searched the Deep Mud Swamp for the Black Dragon while Rayne hunted Swamp Crawlers. When Dragon’s Call reacted again, Rayne found no sign of Matthew Anselon’s Silver Dragon and stopped Emilith from blowing the horn.

  • High Priest Direkota led the Wolf Riders to the Ice Thorn Clan and planned to protect the clan while seeking the Black Dragon’s treasure and leverage over the Rose Knights.
  • Rayne, Emilith, Galadros, and Xindala rode away from camp and entered the Deep Mud Swamp to continue searching for the Black Dragon.
  • Rayne killed an ambushing High Tier Swamp Crawler and absorbed its soul, adding to his Strength Element progress.
  • Emilith’s Dragon’s Call horn reacted, but Rayne searched from above and found no sign of Matthew Anselon’s Silver Dragon.
  • Emilith prepared to summon the nearby Good Dragon, but Rayne told her not to blow the horn.

Ch. 383Master Black Horn

Rayne and Emilith tracked a nearby Good Dragon through the Deep Mud Swamp and encountered the renowned Druid Black Horn. When Black Horn reacted strangely to Dragon’s Call, Rayne ordered Emilith to blow it, and the Minotaur attacked before she could.

  • Rayne and Emilith used repeated Dragon’s Call tests to locate the nearby Good Dragon without alerting the mercenaries and adventurers in the swamp.
  • They met Black Horn, a Minotaur Druid who blessed the group and gave Emilith a token for discounted Dark Soul Potions from the Ice Thorn Clan.
  • Black Horn denied seeing a dragon, but Rayne noticed his emotions shift when Emilith revealed Dragon’s Call and suspected he was connected to the nearby dragon.
  • Rayne prepared for combat, Galadros and Xindala flanked Black Horn, and Emilith raised Dragon’s Call to blow it.
  • Black Horn summoned thorny vines that engulfed the Phantom Warhorses and Emilith as a beam of starlight descended toward her.

Ch. 384War Tree

Rayne fought Blackhorn, who transformed into a War Tree and summoned Blackwater Boas to distract the others. Rayne discovered Blackhorn’s disguise, but the druid escaped by changing into a Wind Roc and vanishing into the mist.

  • Rayne trapped Blackhorn in a Stasis Field and Banishment Spell, but Blackhorn transformed into a War Tree and broke free.
  • Rayne dodged the War Tree’s attacks and shattered its right arm with a charged hammer strike.
  • The War Tree summoned Blackwater Boas to hold Emilith, Galadros, and Xindala back while it tried to escape.
  • Rayne spotted Blackhorn disguised as an earthworm and attacked, but Blackhorn transformed into a bear and then a Wind Roc to flee.

Ch. 385Cross-Dressing Master

Rayne and his companions tracked Master Black Horn through Deep Mud Swamp and discovered that the Legendary Druid was likely a Black Dragon. After their ambush forced him to reveal himself, Master Black Horn escaped again using a Black Dragon shadow ability and fled as a Wind Roc.

  • Emilith burned the Blackwater Boas and dried the swamp, but Rayne stopped her from using Dragon's Call because he had marked Master Black Horn with metallic fluid.
  • Rayne identified Master Black Horn as likely a Black Dragon, and the group speculated that he might be the male dragon who had impersonated a noblewoman in Brantania.
  • Rayne tracked the mark to a pool, where Master Black Horn was hiding as a grass carp, and the group ambushed him with lightning, ice, petrification, and fire.
  • Master Black Horn transformed into a Frost Giant, endured the attack, and began healing with Rejuvenation Spell before disappearing through Shadow Avatar.
  • Rayne detected Master Black Horn slipping into the Shadow Plane, but the Druid reappeared as a Wind Roc and flew away.

Ch. 386Black Dragon's Nest

Rayne and his companions spent days pursuing Blackhorn, who repeatedly escaped by transforming and using Shadow Avatar. Rayne uncovered the pattern that led to Blackhorn’s hidden lair and opened its Shadow Gate, leaving the group poised to enter.

  • Blackhorn repeatedly evaded Rayne, Emilith, Galadros, and Xindala by changing forms and escaping through the Shadow Plane, exhausting the group.
  • Rayne mapped the places where Blackhorn had hidden and realized Blackhorn was circling his lair while avoiding the area around it.
  • Rayne and his companions searched the area where they had first encountered Blackhorn, guided by Galadros’s knowledge of Black Dragon lairs.
  • Rayne found ancient Troll temple ruins beside a river and detected a concealed magical vortex near a small hill.
  • Rayne revealed a hidden Shadow Gate in the hill and opened it effortlessly, surprising Emilith, Galadros, and Xindala.

Ch. 387Golden Treasure

Rayne and his companions broke into the Black Dragon’s lair, where they found an enormous treasure and an alchemy workshop. When the Black Dragon returned and confronted them, Rayne stopped the dragons from fighting and threatened to destroy the treasure if the Black Dragon attacked.

  • Rayne cleared the Shadow Gate passage of magical traps with a Lightning Burst Orb before leading the others into the lair.
  • Galadros and Xindala eagerly plucked Luminous Stones from the passage and then sprawled across the Black Dragon’s golden treasure.
  • Rayne warned his companions that the Black Dragon was returning, and Emilith got the dragons ready for battle.
  • Rayne explored the lair and found an alchemy room stocked with Dark Soul Potions and materials.
  • Black Horn returned, spotted signs that dragons had lain on his treasure, and transformed into his True Dragon form to confront the intruders.
  • Rayne intervened before the dragons attacked, threatened to destroy every coin, and challenged Black Horn despite not being legendary.

Ch. 388High Merit Overshadows the Sovereign

Rayne forced the Black Dragon, Black Horn, to accept Emilith’s Dragon Oath by threatening his treasure, and Emilith promised him and the other dragons payment for their aid. The oath boosted Emilith to level fifteen, but the newly allied group saw Grail Knight Matthew Anselon and his Rose Knights approaching the lair.

  • The Black Dragon recognized Rayne as a Dragon Slayer and demanded to know who he was and how he had tracked him.
  • Rayne revealed his identity and pressured Black Horn to sign the Dragon Oath, using the threat of a forced summons and damage to his treasure.
  • Emilith offered Black Horn, Galadros, and Xindala fifty thousand Gold Shields a year each for their future assistance, and Black Horn agreed to the oath.
  • Emilith used Dragon’s Call to bind Black Horn and rose to level fifteen, while Black Horn revealed that he preferred to be called Igon or Black Horn.
  • Black Horn demanded that Galadros and Xindala return the eighteen Luminous Stones, and they handed them back.
  • A pool in the lair revealed a Silver Dragon and its armed knights approaching, and Black Horn identified their leader as Grail Knight Matthew Anselon.

Ch. 389Legendary Element: Grail Power

Rayne devised a way to buy time for the Black Dragon to evacuate his treasure by disguising himself as High Priest Direkota and confronting Matthew Anselon. The chapter ended with Rayne realizing that Matthew was a Level 19 Grail Knight on the verge of reaching the Saint Tier.

  • Rayne learned that Matthew Anselon and the Silver Dragon would reach the lair within minutes, so the Black Dragon began moving his treasure into Galadros's Void Chain Belt and Emilith's necklace.
  • The Black Dragon agreed to pay Galadros one hundred thousand Gold Shields and give him eighteen Luminous Stones to carry the gold.
  • Rayne asked the Black Dragon to transform into a Legendary Sky Patrol Wind Rider, then disguised himself as High Priest Direkota to deter Matthew.
  • Rayne and the Black Dragon left through a one-way barrier, and Rayne instructed Emilith to evacuate the remaining treasure and meet them later.
  • Rayne confronted Matthew Anselon and saw that the Grail Knight's Legendary Element, Grail Power, had brought him to Level 19, one step from the Saint Tier.

Ch. 390The Art of Deceiving Heaven

Rayne, disguised as the orc High Priest Direkota, delayed Matthew Anselon and Gwenyth while Emilith and the others escaped from the Black Dragon’s lair. After Matthew broke open the entrance, Rayne followed him inside to preserve his disguise.

  • Matthew Anselon arrived with more than twenty Silverwing Pegasus Knights and Silver Dragon Gwenyth, and Rayne pretended to be High Priest Direkota.
  • Gwenyth tried to probe Rayne with a Detection Spell, but Rayne noticed and confronted her; Matthew apologized on her behalf.
  • Rayne found the footprints leading to the lair and claimed that Grosh had guided him there, then negotiated for a quarter of the Black Dragon’s treasure.
  • Rayne pretended to study the Shadow Gate while waiting for Emilith and the others to leave through a Portal.
  • Matthew charged the stone wall with his Dragonlance, opened the cave entrance, and rushed inside with Gwenyth.
  • Rayne saw that the Silverwing Pegasus Knights were still overhead, drew his battle blades, and followed them into the cave.

Ch. 391Smooth Escape

Rayne escaped the Black Dragon’s lair after posing as Orc High Priest Direkota and concealing the dragon’s treasure. Matthew Anselon and Gwenyth uncovered the deception and pursued them, but Rayne disguised himself and the Black Dragon to evade detection before they fled in another direction.

  • Rayne found the dragon’s lair and Alchemy Room completely cleaned out, then pretended to be confused when Matthew Anselon concluded that the Black Dragon had fled.
  • Rayne questioned Matthew about Dragon’s Call, then left without revealing his identity or where the treasure had gone.
  • After Rayne departed, Gwenyth suspected that Direkota was the Black Dragon in disguise, and the real Direkota arrived with the Woriel Guard, confirming her suspicion.
  • Rayne realized the Grail Knight and Silver Dragon were pursuing him through metal markers he had planted, so he and the Black Dragon changed forms and fled.
  • Rayne disguised himself as an ordinary Ranger and dirtied the Blood Cloak to hide his aura while the Silver Dragon searched overhead.
  • After Gwenyth and Matthew passed them, Rayne rode the Shadow Leopard away and later had the Black Dragon transform into a Wind Roc so they could escape in another direction.

Ch. 392Legendary-Tier Charm

Rayne traveled with the Black Dragon Igon through Ten Thousand Pine Ridge to catch up with Emilith, while Igon used the journey to question him about her plans. During a stop in a treehouse, Igon revealed the charm behind his remarkable shapeshifting, and Rayne recognized it as a Legendary treasure.

  • Rayne sensed that Emilith had left the Deep Mud Swamp and directed the Black Dragon to follow her toward Haitok.
  • The Black Dragon changed from a Wind Roc into an Ethereal Griffon, slowing their journey as they crossed the Orc Tribes' territory and entered Ten Thousand Pine Ridge.
  • The Black Dragon built a treehouse for their night’s rest, revealed his handsome human form, and asked Rayne about Emilith's plans to reclaim Kongator's throne.
  • Rayne warned the Black Dragon not to pry into their plans and revealed that Wizerland Floating City supported Emilith.
  • The Black Dragon showed Rayne a wooden charm and said it enabled his shapeshifting; Rayne recognized it as Serana's Soul-Woven Charm, a Legendary Tier treasure.

Ch. 393Behemoth

Igon revealed that Selena's Soul-Woven Charm let him use powerful shapeshifting and Nature Resonance, then tried to seduce Rayne and asked for help recovering his hoard from Emilith. Rayne agreed to help without promising success, and Igon offered to hunt a Behemoth’s Demon Soul for him.

  • Rayne recognized Selena's Soul-Woven Charm as a Legendary-tier amulet that concealed Igon's soul and gave him Nature Resonance.
  • Igon transformed into several female forms to tempt Rayne, but Rayne rejected him and warned him not to drive a wedge between him and Emilith.
  • Igon asked Rayne to help reclaim his hoard, fearing Emilith and the other dragons would keep its six million Gold Shields.
  • Rayne agreed to do his best to help Igon recover the hoard, while making no guarantee.
  • Igon offered to hunt a Behemoth in Ten Thousand Pine Ridge and give Rayne its Demon Soul, startling Rayne.

Ch. 394A Behemoth Appears

Rayne and Igon searched Ten Thousand Pine Ridge for the Behemoth that had attacked Igon years earlier. After days without a trace, they found it eating a Legendary Tyrannosaurus, and Rayne observed the powerful beast from the air.

  • Igon told Rayne that a Behemoth had attacked him years ago, and Rayne decided to search for it to obtain its Legendary Magic Soul.
  • Rayne and Igon flew through Ten Thousand Pine Ridge, using Rayne’s abilities to search the forest for several days without finding the Behemoth.
  • Rayne considered ending the search soon because the forest was vast and he needed to return to Haitok, where Emilith awaited him.
  • During a rest stop, Rayne heard a huge herd fleeing and followed the disturbance with Igon on the concealed Ethereal Griffon.
  • Rayne and Igon spotted the Behemoth Igon recognized, sitting beneath the trees and eating a Legendary Tyrannosaurus as Rayne examined its claws and appearance.

Ch. 395Steel's Weakness: Electricity

Rayne discovered the Behemoth’s formidable abilities and weaknesses, then attacked it from the air with lightning magic. After dodging its berserk leap, he prepared a larger Lightning Burst Orb behind it.

  • Rayne used Soul Eye to assess the young Behemoth’s powerful Elements, including Body of Steel, Strength, Behemoth Claws, and Berserk.
  • Rayne realized that lightning spells could exploit the Behemoth’s resistance to magic and planned an aerial attack with help from the Ethereal Griffon.
  • The invisible Ethereal Griffon transformed into Blackhorn and cast Flight Spell on Rayne, who struck the Behemoth with a Lightning Burst Orb.
  • The Behemoth roared, revealed Rayne’s position, activated Berserk, and leaped at him while Blackhorn escaped using Spirit Wind Technique.
  • Rayne cast Wind Thunder Wings and Blinked behind the Behemoth, evading its claws as he formed a larger Lightning Burst Orb.

Ch. 396The Demon Soul in Hand

Rayne and the Minotaur Druid battled the Behemoth, wearing it down with lightning and forcing it to flee until blood loss weakened it. Rayne saw through its feigned death, dismembered it, and captured its soul in a Soul Stone.

  • Rayne struck the Behemoth with a dual-cast Lightning Burst Orb, then pinned it with Lightning Arc and blasted open its back with the Thunderbolt Hammer's Call Lightning.
  • The Minotaur Druid aided Rayne with Nature's Blessing, Earth Mark, and Starfall as the Behemoth recovered enough to attack again.
  • Rayne evaded the Behemoth's charge with Blink and Any Door, then struck its wounded back with Critical Annihilation and sent it crashing into the forest.
  • The wounded Behemoth fled across the mountains, but Rayne and the Minotaur Druid pursued it and kept attacking until blood loss forced it to stop.
  • Rayne recognized that the Behemoth was pretending to be near death, then resisted its sudden counterattack and tore off its limbs and head.
  • Rayne pressed a prepared Soul Stone against the Behemoth and absorbed its soul.

Ch. 397Prelude to a Legendary Chapter

Rayne returned to Haitok after killing a Behemoth and reunited with Emilith and the restoration faction, then arranged for Igon’s treasure to be stored in Wizerland. He traveled with Igon and Galadros back to Demon Capital and entered his meditation room, ready to advance to Legendary.

  • Rayne killed an adult Behemoth, collected its Demon Soul, and took its six valuable claws before Igon carried him out of Ten Thousand Pine Ridge.
  • Rayne and Igon arrived at Valrogan’s estate in Haitok, where Emilith and the others welcomed Rayne back after fearing he had been lost.
  • Emilith told Rayne that Kongator had descended into civil war between King Malek’s faction and Duke Dans’s faction, giving the restoration effort time to prepare.
  • Rayne insisted that Igon’s treasure be taken to Wizerland, and Emilith and Galadros agreed to let him return with Igon and Galadros.
  • Rayne traveled through Sunset City’s Teleportation Array to Demon Capital, bought a Soul Devouring Potion, and entered his meditation room to prepare for Legendary advancement.

Ch. 398I Am a Legend

Rayne advanced Critical Annihilation to a Superb Element, which triggered his fourth Soul Transformation and broke his bottleneck. After the transformation, his cellphone interface restarted with a CPU Chip that greatly accelerated his thinking, learning, and spellcasting.

  • Rayne used the Dragon Blood Soul Refining Potion and upgraded Critical Annihilation from level 4 to level 5, advancing it from a Rare Element to a Superb Element.
  • The Element's advancement triggered Soul Ascension, and Rayne's Soul Power battery filled completely.
  • Rayne underwent a Soul Transformation that strengthened his body and soul, expanded his Soul Space, and began drawing his four Lightning Affinities together for fusion.
  • After nearly an hour, Rayne completed the transformation and waited for the cellphone interface to restart.
  • Rayne discovered that the Little Red Flower now contained a CPU Chip, and activating it let him think in parallel, learn faster, and cast lower-circle spells instantly.

Ch. 399Lightning Form

After becoming a Legendary Wizard, Rayne explored the upgraded phone’s abilities and discovered that his Soul Eye could reveal Demon Soul wave frequencies, helping predict which souls could be fused. He gained the Lightning Form element and prepared to fuse with a Behemoth Demon Soul to complete his advancement.

  • Rayne found that the upgraded phone had a Soul Power Pool that stored excess Soul Power and greatly extended his spellcasting endurance.
  • Rayne used the Soul Eye to observe Demon Soul wave frequencies and concluded that similar frequencies allowed stronger resonance and easier fusion.
  • Rayne confirmed that his Legendary soul brought a longer lifespan and a Legendary Aura, though the aura was weak against equal opponents and useless to him against mental attacks.
  • Rayne discovered that he had gained the Lightning Form element, which strengthened his lightning spells and increased his resistance to lightning damage.
  • Rayne found that several spells and Key of the Gate had advanced, then pressed the Soul Stone containing a Behemoth to his brow to begin fusion.
