Ch. 1015Sea King

Rayne and the mercenaries watched the Sea King’s tsunami devastate Oakland before the Sea Tribe emerged from the flood and attacked the Demonfolk. Just as the battle seemed to turn in their favor, a huge Demon Legion and the Evil Flame Legion arrived, revealing that the assault on Alber Bay was far from over.

  • Akerman Namer unleashed a massive tsunami that submerged half of Oakland, then the Sea Tribe emerged from the flood and attacked the Demonfolk while its mages rescued residents from drowning.
  • Rayne kept Dawnsos from rushing into the flooded city, and the mercenaries watched the Sea Tribe destroy most of the Demonfolk army and its Portals.
  • Rayne warned that the attack was only the beginning, since Akeon would not be satisfied with Alber Bay’s destruction and the Demonfolk forces so far were only a vanguard.
  • A vast Flame Tunnel opened in the mountains, and more than ten thousand Burning Demons poured through to fight the Sea Tribe army.
  • Valkyria led the Evil Flame Legion of thousands of Wyverns toward Alber Bay and ordered her forces to burn the city.

Ch. 1016Summon Burning Legion

Rayne answered Akerman’s plea for help by sending the Extreme Legion against the demons and ordering Reslin to destroy the Evil Flame Legion. Reslin’s Tenth Circle Spell wiped out nearly all the flying force, and Athina confronted Valkyria as the story left their battle beginning.

  • Akerman asked Rayne to save Alber Bay, and Rayne sent the Extreme Legion to crush the Demon Legion pouring from the fire tunnel.
  • Rayne assigned Athina to fight Valkyria and told Bellac and Dawnsos to stay back because Valkyria was above Level 30.
  • Reslin cast the Tenth Circle Spell Summon Burning Legion, calling down thousands of Archdemon-level Hellfire on the Evil Flame Legion.
  • The Hellfire destroyed nearly all the Evil Flame Wyverns and their riders, while Valkyria escaped with only a few dozen survivors.
  • Valkyria tried to pursue Reslin, but Athina appeared before her and attacked with the Balor Executioner's Sword.

Ch. 1017Archmage's Might

Athina battled Valkyria while Rayne joined the fight, using powerful spells and spatial magic to kill Valkyria’s dragon and banish her to the Bottomless Abyss. As Rayne’s victory seemed secured, an unknown attacker sealed the space around him and shattered his Spatial Barrier.

  • Athina revealed her Titan Giant form and fought Valkyria and her Ancient Red Dragon over Alber Bay.
  • Valkyria wounded Athina with the Slaughter Divine Spear, but Rayne teleported Athina away and confronted Valkyria himself.
  • Rayne used Time Stop and a torrent of spells to kill Valkyria’s Ancient Red Dragon, then extracted its Dragon Soul.
  • Rayne cast Spatial Freeze and a series of Ninth Circle Spells against Valkyria, then used Spatial Transposition to banish her to the 435th layer of the Bottomless Abyss.
  • An unknown enemy appeared behind Rayne, sealed the surrounding space, and shattered his Spatial Barrier with a single punch.

Ch. 1018One-Punch Instant Kill

Rayne revealed himself to Bruce, exposed his fall to the Lord of Chaos, and annihilated him with a charged Devastating Strike. The Eye of Silian then drew the attention of Nyarlathotep and triggered a struggle between Aeon, Rayne, and Akerman, ending with Aeon pursuing the amulet as Rayne's lightning sword beam struck toward him.

  • Rayne caught Bruce's strongest punch, suppressed his escape with an Antimagic Field, and identified him as a fallen follower of the Lord of Chaos.
  • Bruce transformed into a monstrous Chosen One and attacked Rayne, who killed him with a Devastating Strike that destroyed his body and soul.
  • Rayne recognized the Eye of Silian and withdrew after sensing Nyarlathotep's gaze, while Aeon arrived and tried to claim the falling amulet.
  • Reslin used Time Stop and a Light Burst to knock the Eye of Silian toward Akerman, who struck it with his trident but failed to damage it.
  • Aeon gravely wounded Akerman while chasing the amulet, and Rayne sent a massive lightning sword beam toward Aeon's neck.

Ch. 1019Thunder Slash: You Die or I Do

Rayne badly wounded Akeon with a devastating strike, and the two swore to kill each other before charging into battle. Meanwhile, the Eye of Silian evaded several attempts to destroy or transport it, passed through a chaotic struggle among the combatants, and ended up in Vilich’s hands as Valkyria accused him of betraying Akeon.

  • Rayne shattered Akeon’s defenses with Thunder Slash and Devastating Strike, then struck him into the sea with a lightning-charged spear.
  • Akeon rose from the water badly wounded, admitted he had underestimated Rayne, and swore that one of them would die that day; Rayne answered that Akeon would die.
  • Rayne raised his Swiftness, summoned ten powerful mirror images, and told Akerman to pursue the Eye of Silian while he faced Akeon alone.
  • Reslin tried to destroy the Eye of Silian with several spells and then banish it to another plane, but it resisted every attempt and returned; Reslin concluded that the Lord of Chaos was manipulating it and fled.
  • Valkyria saw the Eye of Silian, hesitated before taking it, and then watched it slip past her as Vilich caught it.
  • Valkyria recognized Vilich and accused him of betraying Lord Akeon.

Ch. 1020Vilich the Cursed

Vilich seized the Eye of Silian, but the Lord of Chaos prevented him from teleporting away, and the amulet changed hands amid battles between the rival factions. While the struggle over the amulet continued above Alber Bay, Rayne and his Mirror Images overwhelmed Akeon, leaving the Eternal Chosen One badly wounded on the shattered Gordon Bridge.

  • Vilich took the Eye of Silian and attacked Valkyria and the Hell Three-Headed Dragon, but his Greater Teleportation Spell failed and Valkyria knocked the amulet from his grasp.
  • Reslin and his Mirror Images redirected the Eye of Silian between them as Borchi fought Doljihara, while Reslin used Time Stop against Vilich and Athina tried to destroy the amulet.
  • Valkyria blocked Athina's sword strike, and Akerman pierced Valkyria with his Golden Trident while striking the Eye of Silian; Vilich then teleported Valkyria away and healed her.
  • The four powerhouses resumed fighting over the Eye of Silian as Athina pursued it, while Rayne and ten Mirror Images attacked Akeon with spells and Soulflame Greatswords.
  • Akeon destroyed two Mirror Images but was struck by four others, severely wounded, and hurled into Gordon Bridge, which broke apart under the assault.

Ch. 1021A Day, Three Deaths

Rayne killed Akeon with a steel tide, but the Abyssal Mark revived him through the Four Abyss Gods’ power. After killing Akeon a second time with Thunder God’s Hammer, Rayne watched him revive again, only for a beam from the horizon to destroy him once more.

  • Rayne trapped Akeon on Gordon Bridge and crushed him beneath a steel tide, killing him for the first time.
  • The Four Abyss Gods revived Akeon through the Abyssal Mark, and Rayne attacked again before he could complete a request for their power.
  • Rayne used Time Stop and Thunder God’s Hammer to strike Akeon into dust, killing him a second time.
  • The Abyssal Mark revived Akeon again, and he summoned the Four Abyss Gods’ projections, transforming and unleashing a curse that turned thousands into Fallen Ones.
  • Akeon charged Rayne with the Regicide Sword, but a blue-violet beam from the horizon struck him and turned him to ash.

Ch. 1022Absolute Holy Shield

Rayne used his Star Destroyer fleet and mirror images to keep killing and delaying Akeon, whose repeated revivals strained the Four Abyss Gods’ power. Akeon finally claimed the Eye of Silian, but its precognition showed him an imminent threat and made him decide to flee.

  • The Kalanos fired its Star Annihilator Cannon and killed Akeon again, while Rayne ordered three more Star Destroyers to converge on Alber Bay.
  • Akeon revived, summoned the Four Abyss Gods, and attacked Rayne, but Rayne’s mirror images delayed him from reaching the Eye of Silian.
  • Rayne blocked Akeon’s strongest sword strike with the Absolute Holy Shield, and Akeon exploded when he lost control of the gods’ power.
  • The Lord of Chaos caused Akeon to revive beside the Eye of Silian, and he claimed the amulet before Rayne could stop him.
  • The Eye of Silian showed Akeon what was about to happen, and he stopped laughing and decided to run.

Ch. 1023Deep Ones

Rayne repelled the Demonfolk invasion of Alber Bay, but Akeon escaped with the Eye of Silian after his power surged. After the battle, Rayne discovered that Akerman was one of the Deep Ones and proposed rebuilding Oakland.

  • Akeon used the Eye of Silian to predict Rayne's attacks, then teleported away with the Hell Three-Headed Dragon, the Bloody Valkyrie, and Vilich the Cursed.
  • Rayne's hidden Star Destroyers stood down, while the Extreme Legion, Sea Tribe army, and Transcendents wiped out the remaining Demonfolk and destroyed the last Portals.
  • Borchi, Athina, and Reslin regrouped with Rayne, and the people of Alber Bay celebrated their victory.
  • Rayne used Soul Eye to discover that Akerman was a Level 31 Ocean Lord whose blood came from the Deep Ones, but he avoided probing the deity-linked secret within Akerman's soul.
  • Akerman worried that Alber Bay could no longer be protected after the Great Wall collapsed, and Rayne proposed rebuilding Oakland City.

Ch. 1024Oakland City Lord

Rayne used his victory and Akerman’s destruction of Oakland to secure the city’s future under his influence, appointing Athina as its new city lord and organizing relief and security. He then confronted Akerman and Melandana, announced a Magic Torchlight Tower for Alber Bay, and told them Saint Fanjig and Jose would pay for it.

  • Rayne gave Akerman half a day to consider rebuilding Oakland, then returned to the Thunder Mercenary Group’s base as his forces withdrew from Alber Bay.
  • Rayne told Athina, Dawnsos, and Bellac that he intended to take control of Oakland, and appointed Athina city lord with Dawnsos and Bellac as deputies.
  • Athina and the others subdued the surviving Wrathful Fist Knights, restored order, and began Oakland’s postwar relief efforts with Rayne’s support.
  • Rayne brought Athina and a squad of Extreme Warriors to Akerman’s residence, where they met with Akerman and Melandana.
  • Rayne declared that Athina would become Oakland’s city lord and announced plans to build a Magic Torchlight Tower in Alber Bay, requiring Saint Fanjig and Jose to cover its cost.

Ch. 1025Luoshengdu

Rayne pressured Akerman and Melandana into funding a Magic Torchlight Tower to protect Alber Bay, then revealed plans to reclaim Grey Valley and San Fernando. He prepared to begin the campaign the next morning and announced that the rebuilt city would be named Luoshengdu.

  • Melandana and Akerman objected to paying for the Magic Torchlight Tower, but Rayne threatened to move it beyond their cities’ protection until both agreed to contribute thirty million Gold Shields each.
  • Rayne promised to complete the tower within a month and ordered Reslin’s Extreme Warriors and the Duke’s Guard to protect Oakland while the work proceeded.
  • Rayne declared that Grey Valley would remain under his control and revealed plans to build a second tower and rebuild San Fernando.
  • Rayne told Akerman and Melandana that the army would begin clearing monsters from San Fernando at dawn the next day.
  • Rayne announced that the reclaimed city would be renamed Luoshengdu.

Ch. 1026Sweeping Through the Armies

Rayne launched a campaign to reclaim Luoshengdu, using the Aiseng and Gotham Star Destroyers to attack the demon and Evil Orc strongholds. After destroying the Blackstone Fortress and capturing the wounded Destroyer Demon Lord, his forces regrouped and headed for the Netherfiends in eastern Luoshengdu.

  • Rayne and Saruman surveyed Fel-corrupted San Fernando as the Aiseng and Gotham approached their targets with large armies aboard.
  • Rayne ordered the Aiseng to fire its main cannon at the Blackstone Fortress, destroying the Abyssal Gate and killing tens of thousands of demons.
  • Rayne's troops deployed around the crater and fought the remaining demons while the Gotham's forces destroyed the Evil Orc King's stronghold.
  • Saruman subdued the badly wounded Destroyer Demon Lord with Ninth Circle spells, killed it, and brought its Demon Soul to Rayne.
  • After fighting for more than two hours, Rayne recalled his troops and sent both Star Destroyers toward eastern Luoshengdu, where they rendezvoused above a Demonfolk tribe.

Ch. 1027Saturation Bombing

Rayne led three Star Destroyers in a saturation bombardment of the plague-worshipping demonfolk tribe near Luoshengdu, destroying the settlement and its Chosen Champion, Tikgrol. The bombardment ended after the surrounding area was reduced to scorched earth, though Rayne remained unsure whether Tikgrol had died or would be rebuilt in the Abyssal Rot Domain.

  • Rayne identified the isolated tribe as followers of the Lord of Plague and decided to destroy it from the air to keep his forces away from its diseases.
  • Rayne deployed three Star Destroyers and ordered their main cannons to fire together at Tikgrol, the Great Unclean One and Chosen Champion.
  • Rayne ordered the Star Destroyers to follow the main-cannon strike with Electric Light Cannons and Thunder Spear Missiles, wiping out the tribe and its surroundings.
  • Rayne found no sign that Tikgrol had revived or that his soul had entered the Soul Power Pool, but he remained uncertain whether the Lord of Plague would restore him elsewhere.
  • Rayne ordered the Star Destroyers to kill fleeing demonfolk and bombard the surrounding land, and they continued until they had nearly exhausted their missile reserves.

Ch. 1028Level 24 Wizard

Rayne oversaw the defense and construction of Magic Torchlight Towers around Luoshengdu while waiting for Akeon to strike. He traded Hellfire Cores for Duke Silverstar’s Ancient Dragon Demon Soul, fused with it, and advanced to level 24, leaving the Eighth Soul Transformation as his next obstacle.

  • Igon and his assistants processed the monster corpses Rayne’s forces sent through a Void passage, cultivating Dark Soul Mushrooms and refining potions.
  • Rayne supervised construction of Magic Torchlight Towers at Great Fir Ridge and King's Fortress while his forces repelled repeated Demonfolk attacks and Akeon remained absent.
  • Duke Silverstar arrived at Great Fir Ridge with an Ancient Dragon Demon Soul and asked Rayne to arrange a trade with Reslin for Hellfire Cores and the method to make them.
  • Rayne agreed to give Duke Silverstar five hundred Hellfire Cores and Reslin’s instructions in exchange for the Soul Stone.
  • Rayne fused with the Demon Soul, raised his Legendary Element Lord of Thunder to three, and advanced to level 24 before considering the difficulty of finding a suitable Soul for his next transformation.

Ch. 1029Fleet Expansion

Rayne activated the Magic Torchlight Towers in Luoshengdu and Grey Valley, bringing both regions under his protection while the Goddess of Magic gained influence in Alber Bay. He decided to expand his fleet and prepare for the upheaval he expected in New Calendar 2545, while resolving to reclaim the entire East Coast first.

  • Rayne activated the Luoshengdu tower, whose Magic Torchlight began purifying the Fel Energy wasteland and drew the Goddess of Magic's silver fire into its Rune Array.
  • Reslin activated the King's Fortress tower, clearing monsters across Grey Valley and granting the Wisdom Blessing to Alber Bay's residents, while Akerman worried that the Goddess of Magic would eclipse the Church of the Storm.
  • Rayne assigned forces to guard King's Fortress and Great Fir Ridge, then concluded that his four Star Destroyers could not adequately cover his expanding territory.
  • Rayne decided to build four more Imperial-class Star Destroyers and started construction on two ships at once using his Rayne's Heavenly Soldiers.
  • Rayne anticipated having eight Imperial-class Star Destroyers by the summer of 2545 and resolved to reclaim the entire East Coast before revealing the truth when his term ended.

Ch. 1030Battle on the East Coast

Rayne launched a four-ship campaign to conquer the East Coast and destroy the Terror Demon King’s forces. As the Yigo and Luoshengdu approached Yigo City, Rayne saw the immense demon army surrounding its Abyssal Gate.

  • Rayne inspected the Sixth Division at Nelson Barracks, praised the soldiers, and ordered them to board the Star Destroyer.
  • Rayne and Borchi traveled aboard the Yigo with Archmage Strange as captain, while Rayne prepared to attack the Terror Demon King’s territory.
  • Rayne assigned the Aiseng to strike Quinte, the Kalanos to attack Morando, and the Luoshengdu and Yigo to assault Yigo City.
  • Rayne deployed four thousand Rayne’s Heavenly Soldiers as a hidden reserve and approached the Terror Demon King’s stronghold.
  • Rayne and Borchi saw that Yigo City had become a demon nest, with a vast Abyssal Gate, at least a million demons on the ground, and swarms filling the sky.

Ch. 1031Ultimate Dark Domain

Rayne’s four Star Destroyers destroyed Quinte’s Evil Orc King and Morando’s Abyssal Gate, but the Terror Demon King shielded the super-large Abyssal Gate from the attack with an Ultimate Dark Domain. Rayne ordered the ships to press forward and bombard the gate as millions of demons attacked, leaving the Star Destroyers’ assault still underway.

  • Rayne ordered the four Star Destroyers to attack after failing to locate the Terror Demon King, and their main cannons charged while the Void Terror escaped Morando.
  • The Aiseng destroyed Quinte’s Evil Orc King settlement, and the Kalanos obliterated Morando’s Abyssal Gate and the Fire Fiend Lord.
  • The Terror Demon King’s Ultimate Dark Domain blocked much of the Yigo’s cannon blast, leaving the super-large Abyssal Gate damaged but standing.
  • Rayne ordered the Star Destroyers to advance and fire their secondary cannons and Thunder Spear Missiles at the gate.
  • Millions of demons swarmed the ships, but their weapons and defensive field held as the Luoshengdu and Yigo pushed toward the Abyssal Gate.
  • The Star Destroyers fired sixty-four Electric Light Cannon shells and six hundred Thunder Spear Missiles at the gate.

Ch. 1032Terror Demon King

Rayne’s Star Destroyers attacked the Abyssal Gate, but Losadios revealed itself and used powerful spells to counter the bombardment. As more Floating Cities arrived and the gate began to crack, Losadios addressed Rayne and demanded that he withdraw.

  • Losadios emerged from its concealment after using Shadow Well to divert the first missiles, revealing itself as a towering Terror Demon King.
  • Losadios used Void Storm, Demon Portal, and Shadow Binding to destroy or redirect the missile volleys aimed at it and the Abyssal Gate.
  • Rayne ordered the Luoshengdu and Yigo to continue attacking, and their later bombardment damaged the gate despite Losadios’s defenses.
  • Losadios watched its demons suffer heavy losses as the Star Destroyers kept firing and the Abyssal Gate’s cracks widened.
  • The Aiseng and Kalanos arrived as additional Floating Cities, and Losadios called out Rayne Augustus, identified itself as Graz'zt’s servant, and warned him to withdraw.

Ch. 1033Shadow Cataclysm

Rayne ignored Losadios’s threat that Malice Lord Graz'zt would retaliate and watched the Terror Demon King unleash Shadow Cataclysm against the four Star Destroyers. Losadios sustained the spell by siphoning life force from more than a million demons, but after thirty seconds the Star Destroyers’ main cannons finished charging and fired at it.

  • Rayne decided not to retreat despite Losadios invoking Malice Lord Graz'zt, and the Star Destroyers continued their assault.
  • Losadios cast Shadow Cataclysm, filling the sky with shadow energy and dark meteorites that battered the Star Destroyers’ defensive fields.
  • Rayne judged that Shadow Cataclysm could not break through the Star Destroyers’ defenses, and he stopped firing weapons that were ineffective inside the spell.
  • Losadios used blood-red runes to drain life force from more than a million demons, converting it into mana to sustain Shadow Cataclysm.
  • Losadios concentrated its attacks on the Luoshengdu, but all four Star Destroyers finished charging their main cannons and fired at the Terror Demon King.

Ch. 1034Blade of Cataclysm

Rayne and five Soul Saint Wizards killed Losadios and destroyed most of the Abyssal Gate, while Rayne captured Losadios's Demon Soul and claimed the Blade of Cataclysm. The gate was about to collapse when a gigantic six-fingered hand emerged from behind it and stabilized it, releasing a terrifying aura.

  • Losadios tried to escape the Star Destroyer's attack, but Reslin used Time Stop to interrupt its teleportation as four other Soul Saint Wizards entered through Portals.
  • Reslin and the four Archmages overwhelmed Losadios with spells, then fled through Portals as Time Stop ended and the Star Destroyer's beams destroyed the demon and devastated the camp.
  • Rayne used the Indestructible Iron Fist to retrieve the Purple Origin Soul Crystal and captured Losadios's Demon Soul inside it.
  • Rayne examined Losadios's Elements and claimed its Legendary Tier weapon, the Blade of Cataclysm.
  • Rayne ordered the Star Destroyer's secondary cannons to destroy the damaged Abyssal Gate, but a gigantic six-fingered hand emerged from behind it and held it up.
