The Oni Princess's red PK value was 9 points, already surpassing the first stage of increased Bloody Treasure Chest drop rates. Therefore, upon opening it, two items would be randomly drawn from her possessions and equipment from before her death.
Because the situation at the time was rather peculiar, Eileen, who had opened the treasure chest, didn't have time to see what she had drawn. Only now did she have the leisure to take a look.
The purple full-body bodysuit the Oni Princess wore in life was somewhat similar to Knight Armor. It occupied three equipment slots simultaneously: chest armor, leg armor, and boots. Its greatest function was actually to strengthen the synchronization rate with her twin sister, allowing for better execution of their Fusion Skill. However, even so, the Oni Princess's Bloody Treasure Chest drop pool had reached a theoretical maximum of 13 items.
Although the spoils from frequently hunting newcomers hadn't helped her overcome the Main Quest, she had indeed acquired quite a bit of miscellaneous equipment.
Eileen's luck was good. She drew a relatively precious accessory ring within the equipment system, and what was likely the Oni Princess's main combat weapon.
The ring was a Green Excellent-grade magic ring from Diablo, named "Charged Bullet Ring." As the name suggested, the ring contained the sealed spell "Charged Bullet." Upon activation, it could simultaneously release 3 Charged Bullets at once. These bullets had a wide fluctuation in damage, slow Flight Speed, and an erratic flight path. The number of charges was 5. After the charges were depleted, it required returning to the space to spend money to recharge.
The other main combat weapon was a "Catachan Mk. III Combat Knife" from the world of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. Its rarity was Blue Excellent, and it came with two effects: "+15% damage to unarmored units" and "When your teammate scores a critical hit, your Critical Chance increases by 10% for 6 seconds."
It could be seen that this was equipment specifically designed for targeting newcomers with little protective gear, and for co-op combat with her twin sister.
Though she didn't know how much of the blood of unfortunate newcomers had stained it, this item now belonged to Eileen.
"Whoever sees it gets a share. This one's for you. I'll keep the dagger; I still need one for self-defense."
After directly closing the effect description of the Charged Bullet Ring, Eileen tossed it directly towards Cheng Tian.
Cheng Tian, having received the ring, displayed incredible hand speed, slotting it into his equipment slot as quickly as possible and actively suppressing the physical collision between the ring and his body.
Cheng Tian detested wearing accessories like rings because they interfered with his grip on pot handles, sword hilts, and gun grips.
"...Rich woman, I'm broke right now. If you need me to pay with my body, I can—"
"Get lost!"
"Alrighty~~"
Cheng Tian executed a beautiful side flip and temporarily left the scene of trouble.
Yaksa had fled. This situation might indeed affect Eileen's next objective, but it wasn't to a degree that would significantly impact her.
Although Eileen didn't know who the Oni Princess was, she deduced from her high PK value, low combat power, and the obvious fact that she was blinded by greed and charging directly at Cheng Tian that this was a red-name player who specialized in hunting newcomers.
Such behavior was highly despised and shameful within the Player Community Eileen frequented. Therefore, even though they weren't the Punishers who prided themselves on hunting red names, they didn't reject the act of killing red names.
"He who kills shall be killed; that's common sense, my friend~"
Combining this with the defensive shield revealed by the twins—whether it was a skill or from a scroll—and their decisive choice to flee upon seeing her arrows intercepting the Ground Wave, Eileen surmised their dungeon strategy was primarily focused on self-preservation. They were likely terrified at this point, and even if sought out, they wouldn't be easily found.
Therefore, Eileen decisively put the fleeing Yaksa out of her mind and began to handle other matters at hand.
The first thing to do was to ensure Cheng Tian's Bounty Mission progress.
Eileen was the type of player who pursued challenges only after ensuring her main tasks were unaffected. Thus, she absolutely had to help Cheng Tian collect all the Quest Items required for his Bounty Mission before considering high-difficulty challenges. This ensured that no matter what situation they encountered, they would have an optimal escape route: "hand in the Quest Items and run."
I have to say, this girl's style of doing things really made Cheng Tian feel quite comfortable and highly compatible. Cheng Tian did indeed have the idea of doing his own mission first.
However, judging by the situation, she was prepared to help.
The Gray Contract was the only contract that could be signed at any time with just a little money. Its effect was to allow contracted teammates to sense each other within a straight-line distance of 10 meters. Kills on some types of mission targets could be shared, and killing a teammate would result in no drop items.
But the reason it was called a Gray Contract was that unilateral termination could be forced by paying a penalty.
For example, Cheng Tian's 2500 team-up fee was paid by the rich woman. She only needed to pay double the penalty to terminate the contract directly. However, after forcibly terminating, there would still be a one-minute cooldown period.
As for other more advanced contracts, they required completing missions or consuming special items to form. For example, the "Double Dragon Contract" limited to two players, the "Knights of the Round Table" for three players, and the "Baseball League" for four players, and so on. This type of team-up even came with additional attribute bonuses.
Currently, with both parties teamed up, this meant that even if Eileen killed the mission target that Cheng Tian needed, the dropped chest might also yield quest items that Cheng Tian required.
And just as Batman worried, now, it was truly the Moth Gang's turn to suffer.
Since the dungeon Cheng Tian entered did not have the "Authentic" dungeon modifier, Gotham City, which should have been a linear level, directly turned into a large map where players could move freely. The subsequent levels that should have appeared along a predetermined route were directly transformed into terrains controlled by gangs built around supervillains as their core.
So, players could theoretically even run through four areas and take down all the BOSSes involved in the main quest in this unimportant bounty mission.
However, as mentioned before, even if they were defeated, it would not have any impact on the bounty mission. Instead, it would cut off the possibility of accepting related missions in the future.
Eileen was certainly not arrogant enough to want to break through layers of obstacles and defeat four supervillains who controlled the resources of an entire gang within a mere 72 hours and with Batman's inevitable interference... But if she only killed one, the extra challenge would be just right.
She had simply chosen the Assassin Moth among the many potential targets, and it happened to be related to Cheng Tian's quest item target. Naturally, why not?
Coincidentally, Cheng Tian had a rather detailed map of the faction's distribution. And that bartender was indeed honest and trustworthy, not charging Cheng Tian more than 10 gold coins for a tattered thing. But even without it, it wouldn't matter. She was very familiar with the old factory district in Gotham's East End, where the Moth Gang was located.
If she guessed correctly, the martial law situation there would inevitably be elevated, which also meant encountering denser and more varied Moth Gang soldiers in a shorter period, which would be beneficial for Cheng Tian's mission.
Cheng Tian was not tired, and Eileen was even more energetic. So, the two of them put their heads together and immediately took advantage of the nightfall to sneak towards the old factory district.
However, neither of them knew that their newly formed duo had already made it onto the "must-kill" list of all the Moth Gang members.
