Chapter Summaries

Ming Jing and Jiraiya joined the battle against Obito, who summoned the Ten-Tails and unleashed the Divine Tree against the Allied Shinobi Forces. As the tree drained chakra from the battlefield, Madara explained the origin of chakra to Hashirama and revealed why he sought to cast the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

• Ming Jing and Jiraiya entered through the barrier with help from Minato Namikaze’s Flying Thunder God guards and joined Naruto and Minato.
• Obito summoned the Ten-Tails, then removed the barrier as its flowering form unleashed roots that drained chakra from the ninjas.
• Yuexi ordered the Police Department's Patrol Officers to retreat, while Neji protected Hinata and others from the roots with his swords.
• Mugen explained that records described the Divine Tree as the source of chakra, and that it pursued people with large amounts of it.

• Yuexi and Neji dismissed the Ice Diamond Protection Formation, and the group found Shikamaru near death after the Divine Tree drained his Chakra.

• Madara demanded that Obito return the Rinnegan, and Kakashi and Obito used Kamui to send Madara’s Truth-Seeking Orbs back at him.
• Gaara told Mirai and Sakura that Madara had extracted all nine Tailed Beasts, while Ming Jing explained that Madara had come for Obito’s eye.
• Ming Jing attacked Madara with the Azure Luan Blade, cracked a Truth-Seeking Orb, and cut Madara’s shoulder, which quickly healed.
