Background

Chen Chu was born in a small village. His father died in war, and his mother died of illness before he turned one; the village chief adopted him. At six, he awakened Sagros, a top-tier combat Martial Soul from his previous world, along with Innate Full Soul Power. 1

To avoid attention, he forged a certificate claiming Innate Level Seven Soul Power and enrolled at Exotic Beast Academy. Even that false result attracted notice because of his unprecedented mantis-type Martial Soul. He concealed his actual cultivation, sparred at only a fraction of his strength, and left the academy after secretly becoming a Soul King. 2

He entered Slaughter City to temper Sagros’s combat instincts and seek the Asura God’s inheritance. After winning one hundred battles, he became the Blood Scythe Slaughter God and gained authority over the city. 1

Personality

Chen Chu is calculating and intensely self-directed. He hides his strength, cultivates under false identities, and treats alliances as arrangements to be leveraged rather than obligations to be honored. His negotiations with Ao Tian, Dugu Bo, and the King of Slaughter all rely on pressure, binding restrictions, or an exchange of benefits. 2 23 24 29

He is ruthless toward enemies and subordinates who challenge his authority, but he can invest heavily in people he considers useful or worthy of protection. He refines medicine for Dugu Yan, gives Zhu Zhuqing resources to change her fate, and demands compensation and proper burial for soldiers killed under his command. 39 43 53 60
