Outside the fighter cockpit, countless white streaks flashed past at incredible speed. Each streak was a mass projection of a celestial body, now racing backward at faster-than-light speeds. To the naked eye, utterly incapable of discerning such velocity, they were simply streaks of light.
On the control panel, the hyperspace ring was sounding an alarm. The Coaxium sustaining hyperspace travel was nearly depleted.
By design, the hyperspace ring could not make particularly long jumps. Ultimately, it merely gave ultra-light fighters basic hyperspace capability.
Fortunately, the Yamrii Hook Planet was not far from the Caladanian Caladan Planet. The two systems were only 2.7 seconds apart, so after making a trip to Hook Planet, the remaining Coaxium could barely support another trip to Caladan Planet.
Jedi Master Sass Tiin stared blankly at the endless white light beyond the window. He no longer even knew what he was going to Caladan Planet to gain, to prove, or perhaps... to hope for.
Supplies? In fact, on Hook Planet just now, he could have used his own abilities to infiltrate a spaceport warehouse and steal some Coaxium.
For a Jedi Knight, that would not have been difficult on a planet already on the brink of destruction.
Yet he had still left Hook Planet at the first opportunity...
Was it because he could not bear to witness the planet's destruction? Or had his previous mad conjecture frightened him?
