Hermit sprinted out of the spaceport. After shaking off the first wave of pursuers, he changed direction and headed for the rendezvous point he had arranged with Jango Fett. At this point, Jango Fett was his only ally on all of Mandalore.
Clearly, Hermit had stirred up a hornet's nest this time. Nearly the entire city's security forces had been mobilized! Besides more than a hundred Death Watch warriors, there were hundreds of Zann Corporation guards and countless Sundari police officers!
These police officers had all been brainwashed and controlled. Though they had little independent will, their numbers were immense. They could assist Death Watch in sealing off the city block by block, trapping their prey like turtles in a jar.
However, Death Watch and Zann Corporation simply did not have enough direct manpower. The controlled police could not stop Hermit at all. These controlled people had virtually no willpower. When a large group rushed at him, Hermit merely raised a hand and used the Force to wrench every stun gun from their hands before turning the weapons on them and shocking them all unconscious.
After struggling through most of the night, Hermit finally escaped his pursuers. He took a long detour and arrived backstage at a screening room in a holographic cinema.
He was in a miserable state. His clothes had been torn in many places, and his body bore numerous burns and scorch marks from blaster bolts grazing past him. Even a small piece of his mask was missing.
Yet when he arrived backstage, he was stunned to find that things were not at all as he had imagined!
Jango Fett was already there...
And he was leisurely sitting with one leg crossed over the other, holding a drink. He had inserted the straw into the feeding port
