A fierce battle was unfolding in the outskirts of Levik planet. The enormous form of the Eternity, an Endless-class Super Carrier, stood like a towering mountain. Three Particle Beam Lances arranged in a triangular formation at its bow fired continuously, beams of death sweeping forth and leaving nothing but destruction and flames in their wake!
Near the Eternity, a formation composed of Resolute-class Heavy Cruisers and Twinblade-class EW light cruisers was also firing madly. Covering this main fleet were around ten flat-shaped cruisers built by the Pia'ek people—the kind the Ssi-ruuvi Imperium had contemptuously called slave ships.
Facing them were twenty former Ssi-ruuvi Imperium Xirui-class battlecruisers, along with more than thirty medium and small warships. Even the Eternity Super Carrier was struggling under such overwhelming forces.
After all, the Eternity Super Carrier's Particle Beam Lances were immensely powerful, capable of destroying even a Xirui-class battlecruiser with a single shot. But the warship's lances were fixed at its bow. To aim them, the Eternity's massive 5,694-meter hull had to move with them, making targeting extremely difficult.
Under normal circumstances, a few Particle Beam Lance shots from afar would have been enough to shatter the enemy's morale. But this time, the remnants of the Ssi-ruuvi Imperium had clearly come prepared to fight to the death!!
The reason they were fighting so desperately was simple. Floating in Levik planet's outer orbit was a colossal ring-shaped structure more than 40,000 meters in diameter.
Every civilization that had entered the interstellar age had a similar understanding of such a structure, whether or not they truly possessed the technology...
It was a stargate!
This gigantic construct, which was obviously related to interstellar travel at a glance, had been placed here. And as it neared completion, it
