Thrawn's Pincer (Part 2)
The navigators were operating the navigation computers, carrying out intense calculations. Because the target was so small, precise hyperspace jumps required massive amounts of computation, even with the Forerunner technology engines installed aboard an Archangel-class Titan Warship.
Incidentally, ever since hyperspace engines incorporating Forerunner technology had been successfully developed on the Endless-class Super Carrier, they could now be installed on all Kingdom of Dawn warships over 5,000 meters in length. The first to benefit had been the Archangel-class Titan Warship.
Moreover, the next-generation warship currently undergoing final testing—the Eternal-class Super Carrier—would also be equipped with this engine.
As the calculations continued, white light flashed, and the Third Sub-fleet emerged from hyperspace, arriving in the Ithor System. Likewise, faced with the utterly silent star system, the commander of the Third Sub-fleet was equally bewildered and sent a message to ask what was going on.
But that message only made Sefrans Tann feel even worse.
"This is an exquisitely designed trap laid by Thrawn!" she snarled, slamming her fist down hard onto the console with a loud smack.
Speaking of which, Kingdom of Dawn warship designs included one rather pointless but interesting modification: a layer of hollow hard plastic was installed beneath the upper panel of the console. This way, when combat commanders punched it, they would not hurt their hands, and it would make a very loud noise.
This was mainly because Kingdom of Dawn warship designers, during field visits, discovered that commanders loved punching the consoles of holographic starmap projectors—because that was where they usually stood while directing battle. So, for the sake of commanders' health and to better display their authority, the Kingdom of Dawn's warship designers thoughtfully made this adjustment.
Naturally, such design considerations were things that Galactic Empire warship designers—who spent every day
