When the Galactic Empire fleet withdrew from Ord Mantell, it remained relatively orderly. After all, Admiral Gillard Perine had made arrangements beforehand, and his strict command style demanded high discipline from the troops. Even so, the Galactic Empire still lost around 100 capital ships and nearly 300 Light Cruisers during the retreat.
The heavy losses were because any warships whose mobility had been impaired by damage during the withdrawal were either captured by the Kingdom of Dawn or destroyed.
But the Imperial fleet's nightmare was not over. After the bulk of their forces had retreated, they discovered in terror that the Archangel Titan warship and the Taowu Titan warship had followed them! They were even faster than many Imperial warships that had departed earlier!
The flames of war immediately spread to Kinasar Planet beyond Ord Mantell. The Archangel Titan warship relentlessly pursued and attacked the Imperial fleet, while the Galactic Empire's warships did not dare engage, even though there were only two enemy vessels.
The Imperial fleet's officers and soldiers had completely lost their will to fight. Worse still, upon arriving at Kinasar Planet, the Archangel Titan warship immediately deployed a Hyperspace Beacon!
That meant even more Kingdom of Dawn warships would soon follow, and in their current state, the Imperial fleet had no way to resist.
The retreat quickly turned into a rout. The Galactic Empire warships withdrawing from Kinasar Planet had completely lost all organization. They only tried to widen the distance as much as possible, then activate their hyperdrives and flee this hell as quickly as they could.
Those who ran first survived. Those who ran late suffered. Rearguard? There was no such thing.
