Kraft remarked with emotion, "No wonder it could severely wound that Demon."
This level of power was already enough to gravely injure most Monsters, and even those formidable warriors wouldn't necessarily be able to withstand it.
At least for him, faced with such an attack, he could only dodge.
Serie stood still, her eyes shimmering with an unusual brilliance.
She strode quickly toward Rhode, her voice carrying rare excitement, and directly grabbed his hand: "Teach me!"
Her tone held a hint of refusal to be denied, though Rhode hadn't planned to refuse anyway.
"Of course, but this magic isn't fully refined yet. In theory, its power should be able to go a step further."
"I know!" Serie's tone was resolute. "Your mana isn't enough, so you can only unleash this level of power, and the control process is crude. If it could be refined, the explosion range could be increased even more."
"Still need to boost the power? Serie, this power is already terrifying."
Kraft stepped forward, looking at the scorched crater not far away, then turned to Rhode with a helpless smile.
"Good thing this isn't in the Elf Forest, or with such a big commotion and destruction, Rhode, you'd definitely be arrested."
"Cough! I could consider throwing it into the sky next time, so it won't cause this much damage."
But Serie couldn't care less about that: "How did you come up with this magic?"
"Hmm, maybe a sudden flash of inspiration? But the basic principle is still your elves' Light Magic system."
"I see."
Serie immediately understood—the moment everyone's vision went dark earlier wasn't an illusion; it was this magic at work.
In that instant, all the light in this space vanished.
That light had been condensed by Rhode, unleashing such terrifying destructive force.
Watching the group discuss intently, Norn quietly said to Erik, "Looks like the magic we're going to learn is more powerful than we imagined."
Norn was actually more interested in the Water Generation Magic Rhode had shown, since those could immediately help the villagers.
But Erik beside him thought differently.
Erik rubbed his hands excitedly: "Now that's interesting! I don't want to learn those petty tricks!"
If he was going to learn, it had to be big—the kind of powerful magic that could protect everyone and kill all enemies.
Their divergence on magic might, in some way, determine their future paths.
Rhode and his group temporarily settled down in this human village.
On one hand, with Serie's consent, Rhode planned to teach magic to the people here; on the other, Serie's current mana depletion needed time to recover.
Taking advantage of the leisure, Rhode approached Serie, who was sitting on a large rock, holding a small bowl of emerald-green broth: "Drink this. It'll speed up your mana recovery."
Using the herbal knowledge he'd learned from Kraft, Rhode had found this herb in the forest that could restore mana.
He also drew on his past life experience to give it a simple, easy-to-understand name.
Magic Recovery Potion.
Serie took the potion, hesitated for a moment, then tilted her head back and drank it.
The bitter taste made her frown, but soon she could feel the mana in her body slowly recovering.
"Disgusting," she commented with disdain.
"As long as it works," Rhode said, taking back the empty bowl.
This herb was something Norn had led him to find, growing right next to the herbs that had healed his injuries earlier.
According to Norn, they occasionally picked and consumed them together, which seemed to speed up injury recovery.
No wonder Serie had sensed mana on them when she first met them—it might have been from taking these herbs.
"How are they doing with learning magic?"
Serie pretended to ask, then turned her head away, and while Rhode wasn't looking her way, stuck out her little tongue, as if to dispel the bitterness of the herb.
But just as she turned back, she saw Rhode hand her a bright red fruit.
"Not bad, but I don't know why, even though I've demonstrated it many times, they still can't get it."
Rhode felt like he was getting more and more skilled at taking care of Serie.
Like this time, when he brought her the herb, he also grabbed a wild fruit to ease the bitterness.
"That's normal," Serie said, taking the fruit and taking a light bite. "No matter the race, everyone is completely lost when first learning magic."
The sweet taste dispelled the bitterness, making Serie's calves unconsciously sway slightly.
"How did you learn magic back then?"
"Hmm, instinctively?"
Rhode couldn't quite remember either.
He had just been trying to start a fire when a sudden flash of inspiration hit, and somehow he ended up creating Fire Magic.
The same went for how Water Generation Magic came about.
"Everyone's talent is different. They do have magical talent, but it's clearly not on your level." Serie paused—truth be told, even her own magical talent seemed inferior to Rhode's—"Still, they should be able to grasp the basics before long."
She would never admit that her magical talent was inferior to Rhode's.
"But I really didn't expect Kraft to have no objections," Rhode remarked with a sigh.
He had been teaching those two with Kraft present, and Kraft had completely pretended not to notice the magic Rhode demonstrated—magic that was clearly unique to the Elf race.
"Don't worry about him."
Serie replied casually.
Rhode's magic was taught by her, and she had also permitted him to teach it to others. Even if Kraft had an issue, he would have to take it up with her.
But from the looks of it, the other party probably didn't intend to interfere with this matter.
"Do you think there's any chance we could get Kraft to come adventuring with us?"
Kraft was strong.
His combat experience was extremely rich—after all, his age was right there. Even Serie was considered a junior compared to him.
Although he had previously indicated he didn't plan to travel with them, Rhode still wanted to give it a try.
Serie shook her head, dismissing Rhode's idea. "Impossible. Kraft holds a specific position among the elves and is generally very busy. There's no way he'd go adventuring with you."
Kraft was more famous among the elves than she was.
She was known for her heretical ideas, while Kraft was known for his seniority and strength.
Naturally, he would be assigned important tasks.
"So that means you're one of the elves who isn't busy, huh?" Rhode teased.
Hearing this, Serie's cheeks puffed up slightly, clearly a little annoyed.
Because what Rhode said was true.
She was too young and basically didn't participate in elven missions.
"Nonsense! I have a specific position too, you know!"
Rhode couldn't help but laugh.
The Little Ancestor before him—her whole body was soft and pliable, but that mouth of hers was stubborn as iron.
