After lunch, Uchiha Aozora carried out the small wooden box.
The small wooden box contained twenty-three Ninjutsu Scrolls, recording thirty-three ninjutsu.
He had successively learned the Great Fireball Technique, Phoenix Sage Fire Technique, Skill of the Shuriken, Shadow Clone Jutsu, and Body Flicker Technique.
Among them, the Great Fireball Technique and Phoenix Sage Fire Technique had granted him "True Fire of Samadhi."
The Shadow Clone Jutsu had refined "Clone" and "Weapon Control," while also activating "Outer Body Incarnation."
The Skill of the Shuriken and Body Flicker Technique, meanwhile, had not triggered any response from the Heavenly Book.
Other than the Body Flicker Technique, he was now highly proficient in all these skills. Aozora therefore wanted to expand his skill set.
First, he set aside the scrolls containing two basic genjutsu. He had originally intended to learn genjutsu, but then he had gone on to study the Shadow Clone Jutsu and Body Flicker Technique. He had only glanced through the Hell Viewing Technique and Demonic Illusion: False Servant Technique, without beginning to practice them.
Now that he had awakened the Sharingan, he could easily refine Yin-natured Chakra. Learning genjutsu would yield twice the result with half the effort, making this the perfect time to study it.
After browsing for a while, he selected two more scrolls from the wooden box. They recorded Hana Claw Red and the Great Dragon Fire Technique respectively. These two Fire Release ninjutsu were derivative, enhanced versions of the Phoenix Sage Fire Technique and Great Fireball Technique. They came from the same lineage, so Aozora felt they would not be difficult to master.
After fighting Uchiha Tekka, he had discovered that while purifying Fire Release Chakra was still far from allowing him to cultivate "Qi Fire," his Fire Release had already been enhanced. Its power far surpassed that of other people's Fire Release.
Therefore, he chose to study higher-level Fire Release ninjutsu and strengthen his advantage.
Next, Aozora selected another scroll. It recorded Invisibility Jutsu, one of the Advanced Three Body Techniques.
Transformation Jutsu, Substitution Technique, and Clone Technique were known as the Three Body Techniques. Among higher-ranked ninja, the more commonly used Body Flicker Technique, Invisibility Jutsu, and Binding Jutsu were known as the Advanced Three Body Techniques.
Among the Advanced Three Body Techniques, the Body Flicker Technique had the widest application. Basically every Jonin would master it. This ninjutsu also had excellent potential, after all, no martial art under heaven could withstand speed. The foremost example in this regard was Aozora's older brother, Uchiha Shisui.
The other two Advanced Three Body Techniques were considerably less impressive. Although both Binding Jutsu and Invisibility Jutsu were highly useful, they also had many restrictions. For example, Invisibility Jutsu could only conceal one's body and obscure vision. It could not eliminate one's scent, nor could it hide one's Chakra presence, making it easy for Sensor Ninja from the various villages to detect.
Binding Jutsu had circulated throughout the Shinobi World for a long time and existed in many different versions. The Binding Jutsu recognized as one of the Advanced Three Body Techniques was the most ordinary version, a ninjutsu that used one's own Chakra to immobilize the enemy.
Although it could only hold someone still for an instant, that instant was enough to determine life or death for a ninja!
However, Binding Jutsu had its limitations as well. First, it could usually only immobilize ninja weaker than oneself. The stronger the opponent, the shorter the duration of control, and it could even result in backlash.
Second, Binding Jutsu was slow to activate and straightforward in execution. Once a ninja began moving at high speed, it lost its effectiveness.
Even so, Binding Jutsu and Invisibility Jutsu were both favored among high-level ninja.
One important reason was that high-level ninja often needed to carry out missions in teams. In team cooperation, Binding Jutsu and Invisibility Jutsu were immensely useful, essential ninjutsu for infiltration and assassination.
Since genjutsu also had controlling effects, Aozora chose Invisibility Jutsu first.
Aozora was not learning Invisibility Jutsu to make infiltration missions easier in the future. He was simply preparing for the unexpected.
Although Invisibility Jutsu could not fool Sensor Ninja, it could still evade the senses of ordinary ninja.
Moreover, invisibility was a common mystical art in Taoist mythology. Aozora believed the Heavenly Book would surely grant him something new.
Perhaps the Heavenly Book version of "Invisibility" would allow him to completely disappear without a trace and evade the detection of Sensor Ninja.
Aozora did not dare guarantee that his path through the Shinobi World would always go smoothly. Once he learned Invisibility Jutsu, he would have something to rely on. When facing powerful enemies, he would have the option to fight or flee.
Most importantly, Aozora had inspected the new Clan Compound today. Just as he had expected, it was surrounded by Mount Kaen, the Naka River, and the Sealing Squad.
Aozora believed that once the Uchiha Clan completed their relocation, Konoha would certainly dispatch ANBU to monitor the Uchiha.
At that time, if he wanted to do anything in secret, he would need strong infiltration abilities.
Finally, after picking through the scrolls, Aozora picked up two scrolls tied together.
One scroll recorded the Summoning Jutsu, while the other was a Contract Scroll with the Ninja Crow Clan.
The Uchiha Clan's Summoning Beasts were generally Ninja Cats, since the Uchiha had a good relationship with the Ninja Cat Clan of Cat Country. Moreover, the proud Uchiha did not need overly powerful Summoning Beasts. Ninja Cats were agile and knew all kinds of auxiliary ninjutsu, making them well suited to assist the Uchiha.
The Ninja Crow Contract Scroll had been obtained by Uchiha Shisui purely by chance. In the current Shinobi World, perhaps only Shisui had formed a contract with the Ninja Crow Clan.
Ninja Crows were different from Ninja Cats.
Ninja Cats could scout and fight. They knew a little of everything, but did not excel at any of it.
Ninja Crows, on the other hand, were natural Genjutsu Masters. They excelled in genjutsu but knew nothing whatsoever about other ninjutsu.
After a brief comparison, Aozora decided to choose the Ninja Crow path.
After all, he was going for a dashing and handsome style, not a cute one.
Having settled on the direction of his future training, Aozora returned the remaining scrolls to the box, locked it, and put the box back in its original place.
Aozora had originally wanted to learn Hana Claw Red and the Great Dragon Fire Technique first. After all, he had a foundation in those two ninjutsu, making them easier to master quickly.
But after glancing at the genjutsu scrolls, Aozora still decided to first learn the Hell Viewing Technique and Demonic Illusion: False Servant Technique. He feared that if he did not study them now, he would forget them again.
He was currently lacking control-type ninjutsu and needed to make up for that weakness. Moreover, learning genjutsu could deepen his understanding of it, allowing him to defend against genjutsu more effectively. He did not think awakening the Sharingan made him immune to genjutsu.
Spreading open the scrolls, Aozora began studying them word by word.
After finishing his reading, Aozora did not immediately begin practicing the two ninjutsu. Instead, he focused his mind and entered the Sea of Consciousness.
Looking at the remaining droplet of merit on the Heavenly Book, Aozora thought for a moment before visualizing "Weapon Control."
The Golden Droplet quickly merged into the ancient characters glowing with faint Pale Gold light. Before long, the two characters for "Weapon Control" turned pure gold.
Aozora estimated that only two or three more droplets of merit would be needed to completely restore "Weapon Control."
After briefly sensing the new knowledge within "Weapon Control," Aozora began practicing the two genjutsu.
After learning several ninjutsu, Aozora had become more proficient at understanding their specific Chakra circulation through hand seals.
Both the Hell Viewing Technique and Demonic Illusion: False Servant Technique were basic genjutsu, no more difficult than the Great Fireball Technique. Therefore, after practicing them once or twice, Aozora had completely mastered them.
When he correctly performed the Hell Viewing Technique, the Heavenly Book absorbed every trace of that cold and sinister Chakra.
