Background / History

Shisui is Aozora’s elder and only brother. When Aozora graduates from the Ninja Academy, Shisui congratulates him, but Aozora resents his constant absence on village missions. Shisui nevertheless maintains that Konoha belongs to everyone and that each person should contribute what they can. 2 3

Despite the strain between them, Shisui guides Aozora’s early Fire Release training. He is astonished by Aozora’s ability to control the Great Fireball Technique and leaves for another mission hoping his brother will become an outstanding shinobi. 5 6

Shisui later gives up a stable life and a position within reach in pursuit of what he believes will help the clan, only to find that many clan members do not understand his choices. After a candid conversation with Aozora, he admits that Aozora may be capable of leading the Uchiha’s revival, while Aozora insists that the clan’s future cannot rest on either brother alone. 136 137

He declines Sarutobi Hiruzen’s support for his candidacy as Hokage Assistant, choosing not to participate in the selection. 138
