"Fellow Daoist Tai Cang, what is it?" Cang Du noticed something unusual and turned to ask. Youchaoshi, Suirenshi, and Ziyishi also cast puzzled looks his way.
"This child possesses exceptional talent." Tai Cang looked at the Three Ancestors of Humanity. "He is highly suited to cultivating martial arts."
The three ancestors were overjoyed at his words. Youchaoshi eagerly said, "Immortal Tai Cang, Stone is naturally intelligent and far more mature than others his age. Would you be willing to accept him as your disciple?"
Suirenshi and Ziyishi also looked at Tai Cang with hopeful expressions.
"I can." Tai Cang pondered briefly. "But he must first pass a test."
Although he had personally witnessed Stone's brave feat of slaying the Cang Immortal demonic beast, Tai Cang valued loyalty even more. If Stone could not pass the test, then no matter how gifted he was, Tai Cang would not readily accept him as a disciple.
"A test?" The three ancestors exchanged looks, their expressions immediately turning tense. They recalled how many prodigies in the past had missed their opportunities after failing such tests. Only Cang Du had endured countless hardships before becoming Laozi's disciple.
"Fellow Daoist Tai Cang," Cang Du stepped forward, "how do you intend to test this child?"
The four of them waited nervously for his answer.
"There is no need to worry." Tai Cang smiled calmly. "When accepting disciples, I value temperament above all else."
Since the system had already confirmed that Stone possessed the Heavenly Supreme Physique and eight-and-a-half-star potential, nothing else would matter as long as his character passed muster.
"So that is how it is." Cang Du nodded in understanding and looked toward Stone in the distance. "Judging by this child's current conduct, his temperament should be fine."
