Background / History

Laozi presides over the Three Pure Ones alongside his junior brothers Yuanshi and Tongtian. He convenes a Three Sects Dao-discussion assembly, dismisses cultivators without destiny with the Three Pure Ones, and oversees the development of the sects’ disciples 1.

After observing Tai Cang’s conflict with Duobao, Laozi recognizes Tai Cang as a possible instrument for reclaiming Pangu’s Destiny from the Witch Clan. He summons Tai Cang to Grand Clarity Palace after his confinement at Siguo Cliff, while explaining to Yuanshi and Tongtian that the Three Pure Ones cannot openly act against the Witch Clan themselves 5.

At Grand Clarity Palace, Laozi judges Tai Cang’s foundation to be stable and entrusts him with the Supreme Five Qi Method and the Grand Clarity Bright Jade Body.
