Arc 21The Valley of the End

As Konoha prepared to confront Menma, revived leaders and family members tried to negotiate while Menma defended his plan to unify the shinobi world by force. Sasuke confronted Itachi about the Uchiha massacre and chose to keep his brother alive, as the coming war drew near.

  • Tsunade told the revived Hokage about Menma’s rise, while Kushina and Minato refused to intervene in the affairs of the living and Hashirama and Tobirama promised to seek peace.
  • Menma returned to the Village of Light with Gaara, ordered preparations to destroy Konoha, and told Sasuke the truth about the Uchiha massacre and Itachi’s role.
  • Tobirama lifted Konoha’s general mobilization, invited Menma to peace talks at the Valley of the End, and organized the village clans for a possible battle.

Arc 22The Valley of the End

Menma led the Village of Light against Konohagakure, defeated Hashirama and Madara, and secured Konoha’s surrender. He rejected Madara’s Moon Eye Plan, and Hashirama entrusted the Shinobi World’s future to him.

  • Toneri brought Sasuke and the unconscious Itachi to the Village of Light, where Itachi accepted responsibility for his past and gave Sasuke his eyes.
  • Menma identified Madara Uchiha as the force behind Obito and the Akatsuki Organization, then departed with Toneri to confront Konoha at the Valley of the End.
  • Menma rejected Hashirama’s offer and demanded Konoha’s unconditional surrender, while Toneri fought Tobirama and Hiruzen and Menma battled Hashirama.

Arc 23Unification and the White Zetsu War

Menma defeated Madara, Obito, Black Zetsu, and the White Zetsu army, then brought the shinobi villages under the Village of Light. The story left Menma overseeing the new order and preparing to eliminate the remaining White Zetsu.

  • Menma defeated Madara, learned that Black Zetsu served Kaguya, and killed Madara after Madara wished him success in creating a peaceful world.
  • Obito led Sasori, Kisame, and a vast White Zetsu army in an assault on the Village of Light, but Minato defeated Sasori and Itachi persuaded Kisame to surrender.
  • Minato broke Obito’s mask and injured him, while Menma captured and killed Black Zetsu, and Minato then defeated Obito, and Menma killed him.
  • Menma returned to the Village of Light and joined its defenders in wiping out the attacking White Zetsu, then organized a campaign to find the tens of thousands still hidden across the world.

Arc 24The Dragon Vein Detour

Menma brought Mount Myōboku and the other Sage Regions under the Village of Light, then helped establish a unified political order while pursuing Mōryō and Ōtsutsuki Isshiki. A Dragon Vein surge sent him to another time-space, where he watched the Fourth Shinobi World War unfold and Obito become the Ten-Tails’ Jinchūriki.

  • Menma forced Gamamaru to make Mount Myōboku submit, then persuaded Hagoromo to support his plans and help Naruto and Sasuke awaken Six Paths powers.
  • Menma secured the cooperation of Ryūchi Cave and Shikkotsu Forest, as former ninjas joined the Village of Light and the Five Great Nations’ daimyo accepted a federation.
  • Menma traveled to the Land of Demons and absorbed Mōryō’s soul and body, then headed for Rōran to draw on the Dragon Vein.
  • Menma released Minato’s seal at Rōran, but the Dragon Vein engulfed him and sent him to another time-space, where he met Minato, Sasuke, Orochimaru, and the reanimated Hokage.
