She looked at Otto, her eyes full of longing:
"Brother, dance with me."
Otto raised an eyebrow. "You still remember the steps? I can't promise I won't step on your feet."
"Of course—I remember a little—but I should get the hang of it soon," Cecilia said with a slightly mischievous smile.
"Just follow my rhythm, Brother—you know, I am the Goddess of Dance."
"Alright, Goddess of Dance," Otto said, extending his hand in an invitation. "Then I shall make a fool of myself."
"It's my honor, Brother." Cecilia curtsied slightly and placed her hand in his palm.
Otto took the woman's delicate hand, circled her slender waist, and, guided by instinct, naturally began the male steps.
As they danced to the slow waltz, Cecilia's charming little face was within his sight, no more than thirty centimeters away.
The man wasn't exactly a skilled dancer, but his reaction time and control over his strength were exceptional. He placed each step as precisely as possible, making the woman's movements light and graceful.
This required strong perception, observation, and analytical skills.
And fortunately, he lacked none of these.
The air was filled with the scent of perfume. Cecilia's knee-length down coat swirled like a skirt as she spun in his embrace, swaying like a vibrant summer flower.
His arms were strong, and as Cecilia danced, she felt a sense of security in his embrace, coupled with a light, dizzying sensation. She let her body be guided by his turns without any worry of things going wrong.
This was absolute trust.
Though they were in casual wear, their handsome and stunning appearances made them the center of attention. Their dancing, initially a bit clumsy, became fluid, and in the end, it was hard to find any flaws.
Someone approached, wanting to switch dance partners, but they exchanged a smile. Their graceful steps flew across the floor in time with the music, their movements so perfect that the newcomer felt compelled to leave.
In that moment, in their eyes, only each other was reflected.
At the final moment of the dance, Cecilia took half a step back and slowly curtsied to Otto.
Her swirling "skirt" settled, closing around her like a summer flower completing its mission, folding its petals in the autumn breeze, serene and peaceful, with the solemn grandeur of an ancient ritual's conclusion.
Otto returned the bow, his gaze fixed on the woman.
Applause erupted around them, but it was sparse. After all, most people here were eager to seize this excellent networking opportunity.
No matter how much their looks drew attention, no one would focus on a couple for too long.
"I wonder if you liked this dance, Brother?" Cecilia asked, straightening Otto's collar.
"Your hair is messy—well, it's quite good." The man wiped Cecilia's forehead, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear.
"Especially you. My girl is naturally the best."
Cecilia didn't fully grasp Otto's meaning, but it didn't stop her cheeks from flushing, her every gesture filled with shy charm.
"Let's go for a stroll," Otto said, taking Cecilia's delicate hand. "Perhaps there are some new and exciting games waiting for us along the way."
"Okay!" the woman replied with a sweet smile, breathtakingly beautiful.
As Otto and Cecilia walked out of the plaza hand in hand, he suddenly heard a rapid breath approaching, followed by a voice in his ear:
"Excuse me, beautiful lady and handsome sir, could I have a moment of your time? I'd like to tell you about our god and leader, Mr. 'Savior'."
Chapter Twenty-Five: My Lord Calls Himself [Savior]
???
Mr. 'Savior'...???
Otto looked to his right and saw a young girl approach him. She had gray hair and red eyes, wore her robes somewhat wildly, and they subtly outlined her graceful, alluring curves.
Seeing Otto's gaze, her lips curved upwards, her pupils bright and seemingly pure, yet in an instant, her eyes flickered, revealing a girlish allure.
Yo, isn't this...?
Cecilia also caught sight of her out of the corner of her eye and turned to step in front of Otto, but the man stopped her.
No matter.
The woman halted, but as she watched Otto turn to interact with the newcomer, her eyes narrowed, and her cheeks puffed out slightly, like a cat caught stealing.
The girl with red eyes pulled at the corners of her mouth, seemingly trying to make her expression resemble that of a priest in a church—solemn and warm. But no matter how she changed it, there was no priestly benevolence.
However, this visible "performance" added a touch of cuteness to the girl.
Otto noticed the stiffness in her facial expression but still responded with a smile and a nod. "Alright, but let's not stand here."
He led Cecilia to a spot where they wouldn't obstruct others, and the girl seemed pleased, following them.
She appeared to breathe a sigh of relief upon hearing Otto's agreement.
"Please, begin your performance," Otto said, stopping and making no effort to hide his curiosity and amusement.
The girl seemed not to notice the suppressed laughter in his tone and instead offered a more genuine smile. "Thank you! You can call me Natasha. I'm so glad you stopped to listen to my story—perhaps you'll just see it as a fairy tale, but to me, it's quite important!"
"Kallen be with you," Otto pursed his lips, his expression complex as he appraised the girl's subtly mature figure before looking at her "innocent" smile. "It seems you chose the former over the latter, in terms of possessions and dignity."
"What did you say?"
"Ah, nothing. Good, continue."
Otto said no more, lowering his hand and conjuring a pen-like object within his sleeve. He pressed a button.
"Alright... Thank you again for stopping for this! May my Lord bless you!" Natasha bowed, her expression then turning serious.
"Our Lord calls himself the Savior. He was, is, and will be. He is the great leader who governs The Past, the Ice King who wields flames, and the divine being who helps every living being achieve eternity."
"..."
It really was that guy.
The strongest Fusion Warrior of the Previous Civilization, Kevin Kaslana, who bore the mark of the Savior, was the existence he feared most right now.
"That impressive?" Otto praised at just the right moment, while nudging Cecilia with his hand, pointing to a milk tea shop by the street, and taking out a wallet.
Cecilia understood. She cast a wary glance at Natasha, took the wallet, nodded, and left, trotting over to the shop.
"Yes, our Lord is that powerful!" Natasha said "proudly." "In the primordial era, when the torch of civilization was still burning across the land, my Lord slumbered beyond the mortal world and the void for his dear friend. But His benevolence still graced the sky and the earth, enveloping the endless past and future, and people still receive His blessings to this day."
"Makes sense, makes sense."
Otto took the milk tea Cecilia handed him, putting on a "I'm listening, you continue" expression.
"My Lord transcends the world, with five War Gods at His side awaiting commands, helping humanity ascend to the gates of heaven."
"May I ask who those five are?"
"Let me tell you about these War Gods, who are blessed by my Lord and in turn bless all beings."
As if spurred on by Otto's timely interjections, Natasha's tone became more spirited:
"The War God of Stars, the embodiment of the firmament, is my Lord's most beloved daughter. She expands the territory for my Lord, spreading the divine might throughout the universe."
"The War God of Heavenly Wisdom, the one who has followed my Lord the longest, is the administrator who oversees all realms. She witnesses the rise and fall of civilizations and uses them to admonish the world."
"The War God of Fleeting Life, my Lord's horn, the messenger of knowledge. She guides humanity from infancy to maturity, quietly advancing the future of mankind."
"Your Lord is truly formidable, to have so many War Gods serving him."
Hearing this, Otto chewed a tapioca pearl (Note: the "pearls" in bubble tea) and said with a smile.
"More than that," Natasha raised her hand, as if to summon lightning and heighten the atmosphere. "Beside the Lord is the War God of Anti-Entropy—you know what entropy is, right? It doesn't matter if you don't, let me tell you—it is the cause of all decay!"
"And this deity, after being granted a planet in the palm of His hand by the Lord, can reverse entropy! She is the Lord's thunder, the Lord's wrath, the Lord's hand, a judge and executioner who declares war on all false, vulgar, and beautiful things!"
What kind of scene haven't I seen before?
This is truly the first time I've seen something like this...
Otto paused his slurping of the tapioca pearls, looking at Natasha seriously, finding it novel.
It was one thing for the Star of Eden to be called a planet in the palm of His hand, but the brand of Anti-Entropy could be explained like this?
Hilarious. If scientists master entropy and the second law of thermodynamics is completely deciphered by those people in America... then they might as well give up. At least they'd have a few days of fun.
Otto couldn't even imagine what they would do, or how much the Honkai would be strengthened because of it.
The Previous Civilization's Prometheus plan would absolutely not be able to control the rampaging Honkai.
Even a single cycle of cleansing was a mercy from Finality and its higher civilizations.
However, with the leader of Anti-Entropy being arranged like this... he suddenly had a bad premonition...
"Opposite the War God of Anti-Entropy is the War God of Schicksal," Natasha's next words were indeed within his expectations. "She is the supreme being of ancient times, the king at the end of the world. Once, she, embodying the dark, led the ignorant masses with an iron fist, ending that incredibly terrifying era of the Middle Ages. Finally, she submitted to my Lord, striking the bells of heaven for Him."
"...Impressive, impressive." Otto praised sincerely.
"A quarter of an hour has passed, so I won't waste your time," Natasha seemed very satisfied with Otto's encouragement. As she spoke, she pointed into the distance. "If you and your wife are interested, you can learn more by the Thames River."
"If I have the time," Otto took another sip of milk tea and replied with a smile, "I'll go take a look."
"Thank you—you're such a good person!"
Natasha bowed again, "I wish you and your wife a pleasant stay in Attra!"
She turned and left, then set her sights on another tourist.
"Excuse me, sir, could I have a moment of your time? I'd like to tell you about our God and our leader..."
"What a devout follower..."
Otto looked thoughtfully at Natasha, tossed the milk tea cup into a trash can, and turned back. "Cecilia?"
Chapter Twenty-Six: Let's Go Send Off the Bell
The woman looked dazed. After a while, she quickly replied, "I'm here, Brother."
"What are you thinking about?"
Otto brushed a strand of hair from her face and asked.
"I was thinking..."
Cecilia hesitated for a moment before asking, "What does 'Madam' mean?"
"'Madam'..."
Otto pondered for a moment before answering, "It means a lifetime with someone."
"A lifetime?"
"Yes, a lifetime, and also a quilt," the man said with mock seriousness. "It means you're willing from the bottom of your heart to do things with someone, to face storms together, to cross mountains and seas, and to do so for all your life."
"Is that so? Then... haha..."
Cecilia suddenly started to giggle foolishly, joy overflowing in her eyes like a clear spring.
So... everyone could see that I would follow Brother Otto for all my life.
