Background

Schicksal is described as a successor to the Previous Civilization, founded by Kevin's son Adam and others. Its older Elder Council was abolished more than a century before the current events. 32 50

Under Bishop Otto Apocalypse, Schicksal operates as a centralized force whose resources, Valkyries, research programs, and political influence are used to prepare humanity against Honkai. Otto intends to consolidate other human organizations under Schicksal rather than merely defeat them. 30 48

Schicksal Headquarters

Schicksal Headquarters is a vast floating fortress above the Mediterranean Sea, comparable in size to coastal islands. It serves as both the organization’s administrative center and its primary research facility. 8

Cecilia’s Return

Otto uses the Book of Void to alter the past around Cecilia Schariac, allowing Schicksal to recover her after the Second Honkai Outbreak. Cecilia initially awakens with amnesia, but later regains her memories and resumes her place as Schicksal’s Saintess. 3 6 26 49

London Operation

Schicksal takes over World Serpent’s London research base, captures Jackal, identifies Raven and Natasha, and seizes Thousand Worlds Samsara and Seven Thunders of Repose. The operation also provides Schicksal with artificial Honkai Beast data and access to World Serpent research. 26 28

Suppression of World Serpent

After acquiring World Serpent’s assets and intelligence, Otto uses Schicksal’s military advantage to force Gray Serpent into negotiations. He frames Schicksal as a more capable and legitimate path for World Serpent’s researchers, soldiers, and followers. 29 30 35

Conflict with Anti-Entropy

Schicksal’s strongest combatants—Otto, Durandal, Rita, and Fu Hua—surround Welt Yang at St. Freya Academy. Otto uses the Staff of the Underworld, God-Slaying weapons, and coordinated Valkyrie attacks to defeat him and seize the Herrscher of Reason’s core. 40 41 42 43

Durandal’s Promotion

Schicksal publicly recognizes Bianca Durandal Atagina as an S-rank Valkyrie and grants her the Black Abyss White Flower. Otto subsequently bestows the Scepter and Royal Orb upon her, elevating her authority to a status comparable to a partial succession of the Bishop’s office. 49 50
