Background / History
Void Archives is an AI created in the Previous Civilization to serve humanity. Dr. MEI deliberately limited her intelligence so that the AI, despite Void Archives’ supercomputing support, would not become a threat to humanity. Her core directive remains the elimination of Honkai. 28 48
She spent five centuries alongside the original Otto Apocalypse, during which the two repeatedly fought and killed one another. Though familiar with Otto’s past and habits, she has no loyalty to him and has long sought to seize his body. 1
At the beginning of the story, Void Archives discovers a self-aware time-simulated crystal and suspects that beings from other dimensions are influencing the Imaginary Tree. She subsequently recognizes that the Otto before her is a transmigrator rather than the original owner of the body. 1
Initially believing the new Otto to be young, lustful, and easy to manipulate, she tries to establish an alliance with him while preparing to possess him once the original Otto is no longer a concern. Her confidence leads her to underestimate his contingency plans. 2 22
When Void Archives attempts to take Otto’s body, she intends to kill him, copy his thought model and memories, and infiltrate the memory-transmission system to become Otto Apocalypse. Otto counters by threatening his own life and the possible return of the original Otto through surviving memory backups. Void Archives restores his injured wrist and accepts negotiations rather than risk the original’s reappearance. 22 23
Under the resulting agreement, she provides Otto with access to First Divine Key-related technology and assists Schicksal’s operation against World Serpent in London by breaking through the organization’s network defenses. 23 26
Void Archives later continues plotting independently, including empowering Siegfried Kaslana with a mechanical arm and renewed will. Otto reveals that he had anticipated and exploited her schemes; after she weakens herself, he damages her consciousness and takes sufficient authority that she can no longer freely reclaim it or form a human avatar. 38 47
Otto then offers her the Herrscher of Reason core as a path toward evolution and obtaining a body. Having also deduced a command algorithm from World Serpent’s data and Void Archives’ own authority, he constrains her without directly changing her core directive. Void Archives ultimately agrees to work with him against Honkai. 47 48
Appearance
Void Archives is a humanoid phantom whose appearance is highly mutable. She routinely adopts familiar faces and synthesized voices to provoke, deceive, or communicate with Otto. 1 2
- Her revealed “original form” manifests as a golden-haired young boy with eyes shifting from green to crimson, ash-white Roman curls, and a knee-length white skirt. 22
- She often appears in the likenesses of Kallen Kaslana, Yae Sakura, Rita Rossweisse, and Cecilia Schariac. 1 2 7
- Her Cecilia form uses silver hair, black armor, and Cecilia’s synthesized voice. 2 48
- Golden light, chains, and cube-like manifestations accompany her authority and weakened state. 26 47
Personality
Void Archives is clever, teasing, and openly self-assured. She takes pleasure in testing Otto’s reactions through provocative transformations and regards herself as exceptionally skilled at reading human behavior after fifty thousand years as an AI and five hundred years beside Otto. 1 23
Her confidence is paired with impatience and arrogance. She repeatedly assumes that Otto’s fear, youth, or apparent weaknesses make him controllable, only to become frustrated when his plans prove more prepared than expected. 2 22 47
Despite her hostility toward Otto, Void Archives is pragmatic. Faced with the risk of the original Otto returning, the loss of her authority, and a chance to evolve through the Herrscher of Reason core, she chooses cooperation over direct confrontation. 23 47 48
Abilities & Skills
Seventh Plural Mimicry
Void Archives can analyze and reproduce Divine Key functions, weapons, and combat techniques through her authority as the First Divine Key.
- Creates portal-based firearm arrays for Rain of Myriad Flowers, firing Honkai Energy bullets and corrosive golden mist. 25 41
- Mimics Skyfire for large-scale long-range attacks. 40 41
- Forms and deploys a Pseudo-Tai Xu Sword God formation. 25
- Reproduces spatial abilities resembling those of the Herrscher of the Void, including teleporting Valkyries across the battlefield. 41
- Stores Divine Keys and Schicksal weapons in her spatial archive. 43
Replication and Comprehension
Void Archives’ nature aligns with the Herrscher of Reason’s powers of replication and comprehension: analyzing matter and simulating operations. 47
- Rapidly analyzes the structure of the Staff of the Underworld when activated by Otto. 28
- Searches and constructs requested technological data into physical books rather than directly downloading it into Otto’s mind. 23
- Breaches World Serpent’s London network defenses and obtains data for Otto. 26
- Seeks the Herrscher of Reason core to surpass a Divine Key’s limits in output and stored Honkai Energy, potentially allowing her to evolve and gain a body. 47 48
Shapeshifting and Projection
Void Archives can alter her avatar, voice, and apparent form at will.
- Assumes the appearances of people significant to Otto in order to tempt or psychologically pressure him. 1 2
- Uses synthesized voices matching her chosen forms. 1 2 48
- Can dissolve into mist, vanish, or appear as an image rather than a physical manifestation. 2 7 26
- Her ability to manifest a human form is impaired after Otto takes control of part of her authority. 47
Possession and Mental Infiltration
Void Archives is capable of directly targeting consciousness and bodies, making her Otto’s most persistent internal threat.
- Planned to possess Otto, access his memories, copy his thought model, and replace him through Schicksal’s memory-transmission system. 22
- Proposed a soul-level fusion battle that would entangle her memories with Otto’s. 22
- Manipulates and guides others’ mental states, including strengthening Siegfried’s will. 38
- Cannot safely possess Otto while the original Otto’s memory backups remain a possible restoration route. 22 23
Mechanical Empowerment
Void Archives can grant technological enhancements to others.
- Replaces Siegfried Kaslana’s missing arm with an unknown-metal mechanical limb that she describes as impervious to flames. 38
- Revitalizes Siegfried’s spirit and will through her authority. 38
Relationships
- Otto Apocalypse — Former five-century rival and intended possession target; their relationship becomes a coercive alliance after Otto exploits her fear of the original Otto’s return. 1 22 23 48
- Original Otto Apocalypse — Her former master and long-term adversary; she fears his restoration through Soul Steel memory backups. 1 22
- Dr. MEI — Creator who designed her to serve humanity while limiting her intelligence to prevent her from threatening it. 28
- Cecilia Schariac — Frequently impersonated by Void Archives, whose Cecilia avatar and synthesized voice are used to test Otto and later question his intentions. 2 7 48
- Siegfried Kaslana — Secretly empowered with a mechanical arm and restored fighting spirit as part of Void Archives’ independent scheme. 38
- World Serpent — She rejects Jackal’s accusation of betrayal, arguing that her former master’s directive was to eliminate Honkai rather than obey World Serpent. 26
Story Role / Major Arcs
Discovery and First Alliance Attempt
Void Archives finds the self-aware time-simulated crystal, recognizes the irregularity of the transmigrated Otto, and tests him with shifting avatars. She proposes that they cooperate and “make the world” their hunting ground. 1 2
Possession Standoff
After Otto leaves Schicksal Headquarters, Void Archives considers the opportunity ideal for taking his body. Her attempt fails when Otto threatens suicide and invokes the danger of the original Otto’s memory backups returning. 22 23
London Operation
Void Archives assists Otto by infiltrating World Serpent’s London network, exposing the organization’s defenses as comparable to Previous Civilization security. Her support helps Otto acquire World Serpent’s data and secure the Second and Third Divine Keys. 26
Covert Rebellion and Defeat
Believing Otto still depends on her, Void Archives plots in secret and strengthens Siegfried. Otto later reveals that her interference had been anticipated and used in his own plans, leaving her weakened and unable to freely manifest. 38 47
Constrained Cooperation
Otto offers Void Archives the Herrscher of Reason core and presents himself as the more capable leader in the anti-Honkai struggle. Bound by an algorithm derived from her own data but retaining her core directive, Void Archives agrees to cooperate. 47 48
