Background / History

Lin Tian was a Great Emperor of the Azure World in a future five hundred years ahead, bearing the title Limitless Demon Emperor. After obtaining the Demon God Core—a treasure said to offer Great Emperors a route to a higher realm—he was besieged by the Savage Great Emperor, the Azure Sky Emperor, and others. He activated the core with his Great Emperor cultivation, crossed the River of Time, and reincarnated five hundred years into the past, intending to make his enemies “pay in blood.” 5

He awakened in Qingyang Town after being drugged and left with a destroyed dantian and shattered meridians. Jin Lian, his father's concubine, had colluded with the Lin Family's First Elder to remove him so the elder could seize control of the family. Drawing on the Life Creation Art from his former life, Lin Tian immediately restored his body, then crippled the First Elder's dantian. 5

After leaving the Lin Family with its resources, Lin Tian entered the Monster Mountain Range to cultivate and locate a Saint King's inheritance remembered from his former life. His actions attracted Zhou Qiongtian, who identified him as a reincarnated Child of Destiny and began an extended pursuit across the Northern and Central Regions. 8 9

Lin Tian repeatedly escaped through terrain knowledge, inherited resources, the Demon God Core, and fortunate intervention. He obtained Saint Blood and escaped to the Central Region, rescued the Wang Family, evaded Qingyang Saint with the aid of a late-Saint White Tiger, and later survived a confrontation with Zhou Qiongtian through a Supreme Being's intervention. 11 16

In Green Flame Valley, Lin Tian entered Chu Tiange's ancient illusion formation hoping to gain its Formation Dao inheritance and use the formation against Zhou Qiongtian. Although he developed his Formation Dao, he failed to fulfill the inheritance's requirements. Zhou Qiongtian instead obtained control of the formation and finally cornered him. 26 30

When Zhou Qiongtian attempted to kill him, the Demon God within the Demon God Core emerged and possessed Lin Tian's body. The Demon God eventually surrendered Lin Tian's soul to save himself. Zhou Qiongtian searched Lin Tian's soul, learning of his future life and the Life Creation Art; Lin Tian then self-destructed his divine soul to deny him further information. 30 34

Personality

Lin Tian is pragmatic, calculating, and intensely focused on regaining power. His five hundred years of experience make him quick to identify opportunities, weaknesses, inheritance sites, and escape routes. He refuses Wang Bufan's invitation to become a guest elder and rejects Wang Xinya's affection because he considers personal relationships distractions from his ambitions. 13

He is also ruthless toward those he considers threats or expendable. After freeing a trapped cultivator to learn his location, he searched the man's soul and killed him rather than leave a witness. 18

Despite his composure and experience, Zhou Qiongtian's abnormal rise repeatedly unsettles him. Lin Tian comes to suspect that his own rebirth caused a butterfly effect, as Zhou Qiongtian develops far beyond the future Lin Tian remembers. 10 20
