Shuichi helped Shisui rise through the ranks, defended the Land of Glass, and navigated the fallout from Orochimaru’s experiments before Konoha’s dispute with Kumogakure escalated into battle. The arc ended with Shuichi facing Killer B while another Konoha force clashed with Kumogakure near a canyon.

• Shuichi trained Shisui after the Chunin Exams, then led their squad to defeat criminals and joined the defense of the Land of Glass against Sasori, Kakuzu, and other Missing-nin.
• Shuichi helped Orochimaru escape Konoha after Danzo’s experiments with Nine-Tails Chakra caused C to rampage, while the Third Hokage investigated Root and Anko grieved Orochimaru’s departure.
• Shuichi secretly developed a Cursed Seal and trained Kakashi as Konoha prepared to welcome Kumogakure’s envoy.
• After Kumogakure demanded Hiashi’s corpse, Shuichi urged Konoha to reject the demand, and Konoha’s leaders voted to stand firm.
• Shuichi led a Konoha team into the Land of Frost, where his squad attacked Cloud patrols and Shuichi defeated A before A ordered a retreat.
• Killer B fired a Tailed Beast Ball at Shuichi’s squad, and Shuichi blocked it before leaving to support another Konoha force.
• Nara Shikaku’s reconnaissance helped Konoha squads surround Kumogakure forces, while Takai stopped Yugito from using her Tailed Beast power and fought Uchiha Fugaku.

Shuichi trained Haku and Itachi, pursued missions across the Land of Water and the Land of Hot Springs, and helped expose and destroy a Jashin Cult base. He and Kurenai made their relationship official and agreed to become engaged, while Shuichi left the question of the next Hokage to Yūhi Shinkō.

• Shuichi defeated Yugito’s Two-Tails transformation, secured a peace agreement with Kumogakure, and urged the Third Hokage to consider using Naruto to end wars quickly.
• Shuichi investigated the Land of Water, took Haku under his care, and encountered Orochimaru and Kimimaro amid Kirigakure’s destruction of the Kaguya Clan rebellion.
• Shuichi made Itachi his disciple, guided both Itachi and Haku’s training, and began working to master Sage Mode.
• Shuichi sent Itachi and Kurenai on a mission against Missing-nin, where Itachi fought Kimimaro and Orochimaru took the injured boy away.
• Shuichi and Kurenai grew closer, then joined Itachi to escort Inoue Danza’s caravan and captured Jashin Cult members who had undergone bodily experiments.
• Shuichi, Kurenai, and Itachi raided the cult’s hideout, freed themselves from its threat, and destroyed the base and its research records.
• Shuichi told Kurenai’s parents that they had been together for nearly half a year, and he and Kurenai agreed to become engaged before marrying in a few years.
• Shuichi asked Yūhi Shinkō to handle the clans discussing Hokage candidates, while he and Kurenai appeared together in matching Valentine’s Day outfits.

Shuichi uncovered Kirigakure’s plot around the Seven Star Tree, helped Konoha secure the forest, and returned home to pursue his research and personal plans. He later found Karin in Kusagakure, where his arrival drew Pain and Konan’s attention to Kurenai.

• Shuichi studied Ice Release with Haku, then joined Itachi, Shisui, and Akiha to investigate a missing Konoha squad and rescue Lady Miyazaki.
• Shuichi learned Kirigakure had used the kidnapping as a distraction from the Seven Star Trees, then sent his team to stir conflict between Kirigakure and Sunagakure.
• Shuichi ambushed Kirigakure forces, killed Oro and Ringo Yuyuri, and helped Konoha drive the remaining Mist Ninja from the Land of Fire.
• Shuichi and Konoha’s reinforcements secured the Seven Star Tree Forest, and Shuichi returned to Konoha with his team.
• Shuichi received Shisui and Itachi’s promotions, celebrated his eighteenth birthday with Kurenai, and began transplanting First Hokage Cells into his arm.
• Shuichi and Kurenai traveled to Kusagakure, where Shuichi found and healed Karin and offered her the choice to leave with them.
• Shuichi and Kurenai joined Shinjo’s group, while Tomoyoshi secretly sent a report and portrait of Kurenai to Konan after Pain and Konan killed ninja at the Grass-Rain Border.

Shuichi strengthened Konoha’s ties and continued supporting his friends while Orochimaru launched an attack that left Hiruzen gravely wounded and Danzo dead. Danzo’s message pointed Konoha toward Jiraiya and a disciple with the Rinnegan, and Shuichi stayed in the village as the threat emerged.

• Shuichi defeated the disguised Pain bodies in Kusagakure, then brought Karin to Konoha and arranged for Tsunade to train her and teach Kurenai the Yin Seal.
• Shuichi rescued Homura and helped Konoha crush the Forest Ninja Village rebellion, then agreed to watch over Shisui after Shisui awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan in battle.
• Shuichi helped Shisui manage the consequences of his Mangekyō and improved the Uchiha clan’s standing, while warning Itachi and Kakashi about their Sharingan abilities.
• Shuichi confronted Mei Terumi and Darui over the Molten Water island, then helped negotiate an agreement between Konoha and Kirigakure.
• Shuichi confirmed Kurenai was pregnant and traveled to the Land of Iron, where Mifune showed him how resolve could guide Natural Energy through Iaido.
• Orochimaru lured Hiruzen and Danzo into a battle with improved Edo Tensei Hokage, then escaped after Hiruzen was badly wounded and Danzo’s team was attacked by Pain.
• Danzo used the Reverse Four Symbols Seal against Pain and sent Konoha a coded warning identifying the Rinnegan as the enemy’s power and pointing to Jiraiya’s Amegakure disciples.
• Shuichi returned to Konoha, urged the advisors to treat Hiruzen and secretly locate Jiraiya, and agreed to remain in the village.
