Extremis Virus
Aldridge Killian sat nervously in the drawing room of the Primus Tower, waiting.
He came to find a way to cooperate with Primus.
Originally, Killian was a chemical pharmaceutical expert. He was unremarkable in appearance and looked like an unkempt beggar on the street.
But in fact, nearly twenty years ago, he and his colleague Maya Hansen developed something called the Extremis Virus.
He excitedly took his research to Tony Stark, hoping to persuade him to invest in his business, but he never expected to be tricked by Tony and enduring a snowy night in the cold winter.
Later, an organization called AIM invested in him, enabling him to perfect the Extremis Virus over the next twenty years.
Unfortunately, not long ago, in the war against S.H.I.E.L.D., AIM was completely destroyed.
Because, based on the Anti-Project Insight, the H.A.M.M.E.R. determined that AIM was actually an organization belonging to Hydra.
This completely deprived Killian of its source of funding.
However, with the Extremis Virus now only one step away from being fully perfected, he simply cannot stop.
It wasn't just for his own research; it was also to get revenge on Tony Stark, who had looked down on him back then!
So, after several months, Killian finally decided to seek investment from Primus.
After all, the only company that can rival or even surpass Stark Industries right now is Primus Technology.
If they can't secure investment from Primus, then Killian will have no choice but to take a risky path and cooperate with some foreign terrorists.
Just then, Mary Jane knocked on the door and called out, "Mr. Killian, please come this way."
Killian quickly stood up.
He hadn't even injected himself with the Extremis Virus yet; he still looked hunched over, limped, and timid.
Upon hearing Mary Jane's voice, Killian, who had always been looked down upon because of his appearance, didn't even dare to look directly at her.
"I'm coming right now."
He quickly straightened his clothes and hurriedly followed Mary Jane to the top floor of the Primus Tower.
Ben was waiting for him right there.
Killian was filled with anxiety. He was thinking about how to persuade the CEO of Primus, and also wondering what kind of person this mysterious CEO really was.
When the door opened, Killian froze on the spot.
He never dreamed that the CEO of Primus would be so young, so young that he wondered if he had been tricked again.
Aldridge Killian?
It wasn't until Ben's voice pulled Killian back from his thoughts that he hurriedly responded.
"Yes, yes..."
Please have a seat.
Ben gestured for Killian to sit on the sofa, and Mary Jane poured them both a cup of tea before leaving.
Holding the warm tea, Killian felt much more at ease.
Clearly, Ben, like Tony Stark, is a true genius, just as Primus and Stark Industries are now America's behemoths.
However, for Killian, the treatment he received in the two places was completely different.
At least here, he experienced something called "respect".
For Ben, there was really no reason to underestimate Killian.
Although Killian is indeed a villain and caused Tony Stark a lot of trouble.
But this has nothing to do with Ben.
Tony brought this trouble upon himself, Ben has no obligation to clean up his mess.
Since I returned to Earth so many days ago, that guy hasn't even shown his face. A few days ago, he held a banquet at the H.A.M.M.E.R.. to celebrate their victory over Thanos, but Tony refused to attend.
Given his current state, it's even less likely that Ben will help him solve his problems.
His agreement to meet Killian stemmed from his interest in the Extremis Virus.
This ability shone brightly in Iron Man 3, which did pique Ben's curiosity. He wanted to see what the advantages and disadvantages of the Extremis Virus were, and whether it was worth his investment.
Killian probably also knew that as the CEO of Primus, and with Primus having developed a technology like the Self-Healing Serum, Ben must have a lot of research in the field of bioscience.
Therefore, he immediately shared a lot of valuable information.
"The Extremis Virus I'm researching enhances a user's physiological functions by rewriting their DNA. It utilizes the body's bioelectricity to activate parts of the brain that control repair and chemical recoding..."
Killian stuttered a little at first, but he became more and more excited as he spoke, and his speech became smoother.
"This allows users to intrude into the basic operating systems of a living organism. If the user's body chooses to accept it, the user will gain regenerative healing abilities, enabling them to heal all wounds, including previously amputated limbs, and even psychological trauma..."
Later on, Killian even pulled a pen out of the pocket of his old suit and started doing calculations in front of Ben.
He didn't write it in great depth; at least he didn't show Ben the most crucial formulas.
However, the current Ben is no longer the Ben who couldn't study well before. Through the formula that Killian is now showing, Ben can get a glimpse of the whole picture and understand some of the key points.
But the more he looked at it, the more he frowned.
Killian was oblivious to Ben's expression; he continued to expound on the superiority of the Extremis Virus.
"It can also enhance physical functions, granting Superman strength, reflexes, and overall greater resilience, just like the Super Soldier Serum! Furthermore, those injected with the Extremis Virus are able to generate enormous amounts of heat through a complex metabolic process, producing temperatures of up to several thousand degrees Celsius from their bodies..."
"And..."
"Wait, Mr. Killian."
Killian was clearly getting out of control; he even stood up, which forced Ben to interrupt him.
"Feel sorry."
Killian was interrupted, and his imposing aura instantly dissipated. He clutched his clothes and sat back down.
Ben then picked up the formulas and diagrams that Killian had written on the paper and asked:
"If I'm not mistaken, the Extremis Virus you developed is a real virus, isn't it?"
Killian's body froze instantly.
Because Ben is absolutely right.
The Extremis Virus isn't some Superpowers drug with a cool name; it's a real virus.
Killian mentally reviewed his words, then said, "You're right, but that's not important!"
"The important thing is what it can give us: a healthy body! Great strength! Special abilities!"
Killian knew them all like the back of his hand.
"Does it really matter whether it's a virus or not?"
In Killian's view, whether it is a virus or not is not important at all; what matters is what the Extremis Virus can bring them.
