"Red King?"
Ben froze when he heard the name.
As far as he knew, Sakaar's ruler was the Grandmaster, who actually had blue skin and shouldn't have been called the Red King.
That meant Sakaar had another master.
This was actually good news for Ben. After all, the Grandmaster was one of the Elders of the Universe, and his combat strength was unknown. If they really fought, Ben wasn't certain he could win.
As for this so-called Red King, Ben, whose knowledge of Marvel comics was shallow and mostly picked up online, had never heard of him.
He only knew that Hulk had once come to this planet and ruled Sakaar. Hulk had even assembled an Avengers army here to attack Earth, but Ben had no idea what had actually happened.
But whether it was the Red King or the Green King, it made little difference to him.
He had come to become the new king!
With that thought, Ben calmed down, pursed his lips, and waited for what came next.
Only Loki was clearly still refusing to behave. He shouted and raged nearby, and especially after learning that Valkyrie was one of the Valkyries, he put on the airs of a monarch and demanded that she serve him.
Seeing him like this made Ben feel that he was very different from the Loki he remembered.
But on second thought, the original Loki really had been like this. He felt inferior because he wasn't as good as Thor and because of his bloodline and origins, yet he was immensely proud of his identity as a prince of Asgard.
It was only after he suffered setbacks on Earth and was forced to bow beneath Thanos's throne that his temperament changed.
Simply put, Loki hadn't been beaten up enough yet.
