Background / History

Alien X is the most powerful genetic template available through the Little Broken Watch. Ben initially knows it as an omnipotent species but avoids seeking it because a user may become trapped in its consciousness Space if its internal personalities cannot agree. 2

The Little Broken Watch gains Alien X's gene after an EMP-triggered refresh. Ben immediately classifies the transformation as an emergency option rather than a practical combat form: Enara and Oyana can argue indefinitely, leaving Alien X unable to move. 156 167

When Ben first transforms intentionally, he finds himself in Alien X's consciousness Space before Enara and Oyana. Enara rejects his demand for control, and Oyana supports the veto; they also reject his attempt to replace unanimous approval with majority rule. Ben later recognizes that he had treated Alien X and the other transformations as tools rather than conscious beings. 169 170

Ben eventually resolves the practical control problem by using Overkill to create No-Watch Ben, a copy of his own consciousness. No-Watch Ben remains in the consciousness Space as the third member of the decision-making group, allowing the original Ben to leave with the Little Broken Watch. 186

After Ben gives Enara and Oyana independent physical bodies, Alien X loses two-thirds of its power. The form remains extraordinarily powerful, but its incomplete state becomes a major limitation in battles against beings such as Zombie Ben and Evil Ben. 416 474 531

Appearance

Alien X appears as a humanoid figure of blackness, marked with white points of light like a star-filled universe. 169

  • Black, silhouette-like body resembling a black hole. 414 531
  • White star-like lights across its body. 169 475
  • Trident-shaped cranial organ. 532
  • During the X-Phoenix state, its body resembles glowing nebulae and its cranial organ burns with Phoenix fire. 532
  • Ben can combine a small portion of Alien X's power with Heatblast, producing a star-flamed form called X Heatblast. 474

Personality

Alien X's actions depend on its governing consciousnesses rather than a single will. Enara is blunt, irritable, cautious, and initially hostile toward Ben's attempts to exploit the form. Oyana is gentler and more emotionally driven, but she can also agree with Enara when she finds an argument reasonable. 169 186

Both consciousnesses reject the idea that Alien X should function as a wish-granting device. Their relationship with Ben improves when he begins considering their desires and gives them opportunities to experience life outside the consciousness Space. 396 405 416

Abilities & Skills

Omnipotent Reality Manipulation

Alien X can alter reality through approved motions; its power is described as capable of destroying or recreating the Multiverse.

  • Can change settings directly once a proposal passes. 347
  • Can create portals and restore damaged worlds. 415 588
  • Can create or erase phenomena on a Multiversal scale. 532 588
  • Can revive Spider Totem holders and repair Miguel O'Hara's destroyed universe. 416
  • Can generate countless Alien X bodies, whose power can merge into a greater whole. 347 588

Cosmic Durability and Energy

Alien X is an entity transcending time, space, dimensions, and ordinary existence.

  • Cannot be possessed or replicated by Overkill. 186
  • Is immune to Zombie Ben's Slaughter Virus corruption. 474
  • Can withstand attacks that nearly annihilate Hela and fight opponents whose clashes disturb the Multiverse. 531
  • Its physical form is described as the ideal vessel for the complete Phoenix Force. 532

Time and Causality Manipulation

Alien X can reverse time and interfere with barriers between timelines and universes.

  • Uses time reversal against the Beyonders. 586
  • Prevents the Time Administration Bureau from entering Ben's universe. 391
  • Can counter linear-time-based enemies through its non-linear nature. 585

X-Phoenix

By lifting the Omnitrix's capture restriction and absorbing the complete Phoenix Force, Alien X becomes X-Phoenix.

  • Phoenix flames burn targets at the level of the soul. 532
  • Its power surpasses Evil Ben's Five Major Abstracts. 533
  • The flames cleanse cancer from the universe and restore those harmed by it. 533
  • The fusion is not normally optimal: merging Alien X with non-omnipotent beings weakens it, though the Phoenix Force compensates for Ben's incomplete Alien X state. 533

Limitations

  • Unanimous decision-making — Alien X cannot act unless its governing consciousnesses reach agreement. 167 583
  • Consciousness conflict — Enara, Oyana, and Ben can become deadlocked over how to act. 579
  • Reduced power without Enara and Oyana — Their independent physical bodies leave Ben's Alien X incomplete and substantially weaker. 416 475
  • Knowledge requirementBen states that omniscience is necessary before omnipotence can cover all areas. 475
  • Doom Annihilation — This natural predator can disrupt Alien X's consciousnesses and stop them from unifying, rendering the form inactive. 405
  • Celestialsapien stalemates — Against another Celestialsapien, reality-warping abilities can cancel out; victory depends largely on who acts or decides faster. 499 580 583
  • Beyonder parity — Alien X cannot simply overwrite the Beyonders, whose narrative-level power can resist its approved proposals. 585 588

Relationships

  • Ben Parker — Primary user and third decision-maker within Alien X's consciousness Space; initially treats the form as a tool, then learns to respect its independent will. 169 170 186
  • Enara — Black-faced Celestialsapien consciousness; abrasive, cautious, and frequently the first to veto Ben's proposals. 169 186
  • Oyana — White-faced Celestialsapien consciousness; empathetic and emotionally motivated, but still bound to Alien X's decision process. 169 186
  • No-Watch Ben — A split-off Ben consciousness who remains with Enara and Oyana to form the effective decision-making trio. 186 396
  • OverkillBen's Symbiote-influenced consciousness; rejected from possessing Alien X and initially denied membership in the consciousness Space. 186
  • Charmcaster — Temporarily becomes trapped inside Alien X's consciousness Space and awakens the Phoenix Force there. 531 532
  • Negative Ben / X Cthulhu — A rival Celestialsapien user whose form matches Alien X's speed and makes direct combat inconclusive. 579 580
  • The Beyonders — Near-equals whose power cannot wholly overwrite Alien X's reality manipulation; they attempt to recruit Ben before fighting him. 585 586

Trivia

  • Alien X is described as both “the Void” and “Infinity.” 186
  • Tony Stark initially labels XLR8 “Dinosaur Baby,” unaware that Ben's Omnitrix contains Alien X's vastly more powerful Celestialsapien gene. 10 156
  • Ben calls Alien X “AFK Superman” because its immense power is useless during a consciousness deadlock. 167
  • The Little Broken Watch selects an optimal individual for each species; for Celestialsapiens, every individual is considered optimal. 169
