Chapters 203–227 Vol. 3 Read

Ch. 203Who Was Tougher?

Naruto and Mabui relayed Sasuke and the Raikage’s wager to the forces surrounding Kumogakure, while the two sides argued over who would win. Sasuke and A fought at extreme speed until they met each other’s attacks in a midair clash, leaving the outcome unresolved.

  • Hyuga Takata told the Hidden Leaf Jonin to wait because Sasuke had reached an agreement with the Raikage and Naruto’s Shadow Clone was coming.
  • Naruto and Mabui informed the Hidden Leaf and Kumogakure shinobi about the wager, and the two forces argued confidently over which fighter would win.
  • A recognized Sasuke’s Sage Mode and used his Lightning Release Chakra Mode to fight him at high speed.
  • A gained the advantage as Sasuke accumulated minor injuries, but Sasuke deliberately stumbled to lure A into using Liger Bomb.
  • Sasuke countered A’s Liger Bomb with Inch Force: Open Heaven, and their fist and foot collided in midair.

Ch. 204Victory

Sasuke defeated A after bringing out a reinforced Susanoo, though A nearly broke through its defenses. A invited Sasuke and Naruto to recover in Kumogakure and discuss matters, while Naruto sent a Shadow Clone to update the troops waiting outside the village.

  • Hyuga Takata reported that Sasuke and A had both been injured, revealing that A's right leg was broken and Sasuke's right arm was damaged.
  • Sasuke formed a reinforced Susanoo and overpowered A, whose strike cracked its defenses but left him stuck before reaching Sasuke.
  • A conceded defeat, and Sasuke dispelled Susanoo before A remarked that Sasuke had not used all the powers of his Mangekyō Sharingan.
  • A's subordinates comforted their defeated Raikage, and A invited Sasuke and Naruto to stay in Kumogakure while they recovered.
  • Sasuke gave A an unused Chakra Gem, explaining that he trusted him, and a Kumogakure shinobi led Sasuke and Naruto to guest accommodations.
  • Naruto created a Shadow Clone because the troops waiting outside Kumogakure could not remain there indefinitely.

Ch. 205What Are You After?

Naruto and Sasuke kept watch over the surrendered Kumogakure while Konoha launched coordinated attacks on Iwagakure and Sunagakure. In the Land of Wind, Chiyo confronted Tsunade and demanded to know why Konoha had invaded, as Itachi and the Uchiha overwhelmed Sunagakure’s forces.

  • Naruto and Sasuke chose to stay inside Kumogakure while Konoha’s troops camped outside and reported the village’s surrender.
  • Konoha’s commander in the Land of Water learned that Kumogakure had surrendered and prepared to focus on Kirigakure.
  • Konoha used the Land of Rain to conceal its troop movements, then invaded Iwagakure and Sunagakure before they could respond.
  • The Uchiha used Fire Release and Sharingan to counter Sunagakure’s puppets, while Konoha’s shinobi recovered quickly from poison after taking an unknown medicine.
  • Chiyo faced Tsunade as Kankuro refused to surrender and Temari watched Itachi, who had devastated Sunagakure’s forces.
  • Chiyo asked Tsunade why Konoha had invaded the Land of Wind, since she could not understand what the village wanted.

Ch. 206Experiment

Tsunade and Chiyo continued fighting as Sunagakure’s forces suffered heavy losses against Konoha. Chiyo deployed a powerful puppet, and Tsunade summoned bone beasts to counter it before considering using a special metal brick Hinata had given her.

  • Tsunade told Chiyo that Konoha would defeat Sunagakure by force if Chiyo refused to surrender.
  • Konoha’s forces outnumbered Sunagakure’s as the village’s hastily assembled army dwindled from three thousand ninja to just over two thousand.
  • Temari and Kankuro tried to stop Itachi Uchiha, who held back after recognizing them as Rasa’s children.
  • Chiyo summoned a humanoid puppet, and Tsunade responded by using her gauntlet to summon three bone beasts.
  • Chiyo’s puppet sent the bone beasts flying and badly damaged them, while Tsunade considered testing the special metal brick Hinata had given her.

Ch. 207The Divine Brick

Tsunade tested Hinata’s expanding metal brick against Chiyo’s powerful puppet, damaging both weapons as their clash intensified. Chiyo sent the puppet charging again, and Tsunade threw the brick edge-first as it hurtled toward the puppet’s crossed arms.

  • Tsunade hurled the metal brick at Chiyo’s puppet and discovered that it expanded in flight before shrinking back into her hand.
  • Tsunade struck the puppet again with Monster Strength, sending it flying and cracking its right arm.
  • Chiyo realized the puppet’s damage threatened the seals containing the Bizarre Creatures inside it.
  • Tsunade continued attacking, widening the puppet’s cracks while the brick’s inscriptions disappeared and its surface dented.
  • Chiyo charged Tsunade with the puppet, and Tsunade threw the now smaller brick spinning edge-first toward its crossed arms.

Ch. 208Chapter 208

Tsunade defeated Chiyo, forcing Sunagakure to surrender to the Hidden Leaf Village. At a meeting afterward, Chiyo and her grandchildren objected to becoming Leaf dependents, and Itachi began explaining the village’s intentions.

  • Chiyo’s puppet failed to withstand Tsunade’s brick weapons, and Chiyo ran out of chakra and surrendered.
  • Tsunade ordered the fighting to stop and announced that Sunagakure’s leader had been defeated.
  • The Leaf forces disarmed the captured Sunagakure ninja and cleaned up the battlefield.
  • Tsunade told Chiyo, Temari, and Kankuro that the Hidden Leaf Village wanted Sunagakure to become part of it, provoking their outrage.
  • Itachi introduced himself to Chiyo and began explaining that the Leaf did not intend to make Sunagakure a dependency.

Ch. 209It was time to do something

The Hidden Leaf Village continued its campaigns against the other shinobi villages while the Land of Fire’s Daimyo secretly bought Modified Human Weapons and wondered how to counter Konoha. As the Daimyo’s residence was nearly emptied of living people, a mysterious man openly arrived to offer him guidance.

  • Chiyo and her companions learned that the Hidden Leaf Village intended to unite the Five Great Shinobi Villages, while Tsunade and Itachi prepared to subdue Sunagakure’s Kazekage.
  • The Hidden Leaf Village advanced through the Land of Earth and attacked Kirigakure after Kumogakure withdrew; Neji Hyuga led the assault, and Ao stayed inside the village rather than investigate.
  • The Daimyo of the Land of Fire feared Konoha’s growing independence and bought more Modified Human Weapons from the Mysterious Organization, paying with living people from his lands and Castle Tower.
  • The Daimyo wondered whether his Modified Humans could destroy the Hidden Leaf Village and wished its forces would be weakened by the war.
  • A mysterious man openly entered the Daimyo’s residence to offer guidance.

Ch. 210Eyes

A man met with the Daimyo to discuss an alliance against the Hidden Leaf Village while Ōtsutsuki Isshiki discovered a space rift and lured a monstrous creature toward the Shinobi World. Hinata sensed the creature appearing overhead and flew beyond the atmosphere to confront it.

  • The man visited the Daimyo and proposed a plan to destroy the Hidden Leaf Village's forces with help from other Daimyo.
  • Ōtsutsuki Isshiki detected powerful dojutsu on the moon, then found a space rift he identified as the grave of a monster.
  • Ōtsutsuki Isshiki sent a Ten-Tails' tail through the rift, and an enormous eye on the other side ate it and sensed the nearby living planet.
  • The monster began tearing open the rift with an enormous claw.
  • Hinata sensed the threat overhead, launched into the sky, and reappeared beyond the atmosphere.

Ch. 211Breeding Ground

Hinata teleported into space and found a dying Starry Sky Beast, then used her Tenseigan to discover Ōtsutsuki Isshiki hiding inside a meteoroid. She attacked him with a heated meteoroid as Isshiki realized how badly he had underestimated her.

  • Hinata appeared before a Starry Sky Beast emerging through a space rift and identified it from Otsutsuki Isshiki's memories.
  • Hinata learned that Starry Sky Beasts laid eggs near the end of their lives and that their young fed on their mother's corpse.
  • Hinata searched the surrounding space and found Ōtsutsuki Isshiki concealed inside a meteoroid falling toward the Shinobi World.
  • Hinata drew meteoroids toward herself, heated one, and hurled it at Ōtsutsuki Isshiki.
  • Ōtsutsuki Isshiki sensed Hinata's attack and realized that her speed and spatial mastery made her more dangerous than he had expected.

Ch. 212Flame Divine Bird

Sasuke and the people of Kumogakure watched Hinata turn a meteor into a Flame Divine Bird that exploded in the sky. In space, Hinata fought a Starry Sky Beast forcing its way through a rift and discovered that her spatial power had nearly severed its body.

  • A Kumogakure kunoichi alerted Sasuke to a strange web-like shape in the sky, and he joined the Raikage and Naruto to investigate.
  • Sasuke and Naruto sensed Hinata's scorching energy pursuing a meteor as it changed direction and accelerated.
  • Hinata's flames took the shape of a divine bird, caught the meteor, and exploded with it above the Shinobi World.
  • Hinata redirected several falling meteors into the Starry Sky Beast, but they barely harmed it.
  • Hinata repaired the space rift, trapping the beast, and realized her spatial power had severed most of its body, leaving its halves joined only by bone.

Ch. 213A Cornered Beast Still Fights

Hinata fought the badly injured Starry Sky Beast in space, carving into its skull and enduring its counterattacks. The beast broke free by tearing its body in half, but Hinata continued attacking as its strength and remaining life dwindled.

  • Hinata pierced the Starry Sky Beast's skull with Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion and sawed at its head with the sword of light.
  • The Starry Sky Beast fired an annihilating breath blast, but Hinata shielded herself with a Truth-Seeking Orb and deflected it away.
  • Hinata shifted above the beast and destroyed one of its eyes with a flaming spear, though its skull absorbed most of the spear's force.
  • The Starry Sky Beast broke free by tearing its upper body away from its lower half, then attacked Hinata with its claws and locked down the surrounding space.
  • Hinata dodged the beast's attacks and cut into its exposed flesh, while its remaining vitality continued to fade.

Ch. 214The Ten-Tails Jinchuriki

Hinata fought the cosmic beast and prevented its descent toward the Shinobi World while Ōtsutsuki Isshiki escaped, took Nagato’s Rinnegan, and absorbed the Ten-Tails. Isshiki then discovered Hinata’s tracking marker remained and sensed only one source of scattered chakra left in the world.

  • Hinata killed the tentacled creatures that emerged from the cosmic beast and saw it flying toward the Shinobi World.
  • Ōtsutsuki Isshiki survived Hinata’s attack, realized she had left a tracking marker on him, and fled toward his hidden base.
  • Isshiki replaced his left Byakugan with Nagato’s Rinnegan so he could control the Ten-Tails.
  • Isshiki used the Rinnegan to pacify the Ten-Tails and absorbed it into his body, healing most of his injuries.
  • Isshiki failed to erase Hinata’s marker and sensed that only one source of chakra remained in the Shinobi World.

Ch. 215Escape

Ōtsutsuki Isshiki headed for Kumogakure to claim the Nine-Tails, while Naruto and Sasuke fled after learning the Ten-Tails was pursuing them. Shisui Uchiha rescued them and raced toward safety, hoping to buy time until Hokage-sama returned.

  • Ōtsutsuki Isshiki sensed no trace of the other Ten-Tails and flew toward Kumogakure to seize the Nine-Tails.
  • Kurama warned Naruto that the Ten-Tails Jinchuriki was coming and urged him to stall until the woman could help.
  • Naruto learned that Ōtsutsuki Isshiki was targeting the Nine-Tails inside him and ran away from Kumogakure with Sasuke.
  • An eagle and a Black Wolf emerged from Naruto's and Sasuke's shadows and rushed to delay Ōtsutsuki Isshiki.
  • Shisui Uchiha appeared, carried Naruto and Sasuke away at high speed, and said they needed to hold out until Hokage-sama returned.

Ch. 216Escape

Hinata assigned Naruto and Sasuke to team up, then helped their classmates escape a ghost attack in the school. She left the building through a broken window and headed for the field while the others watched in surprise.

  • Hinata paired Naruto with Sasuke, who both objected to teaming up with each other.
  • The ghost overwhelmed the upperclassmen, and Neji’s Byakugan struggled to track its attacks through the building’s black mist.
  • Rotting arms emerged throughout the classroom and began dragging students underground, while Hinata sealed Kiba Inuzuka and his dog’s sense of smell to protect them from the stench.
  • Sasuke used Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique to clear a path through the classroom, and the students ran into the corridor.
  • Hinata smashed through a window and ran toward the field, leaving the others stunned.

Ch. 217Bigger! Faster!

Naruto used his Mangekyō Sharingan to enlarge and strengthen his attacks, but Ōtsutsuki Isshiki survived by protecting himself with Truth-Seeking Orbs and incapacitated Naruto and Sasuke. Naruto and Sasuke countered Isshiki’s attempt to extract the Nine-Tails with Amaterasu and a powered-up Rasenshuriken, but Isshiki’s silhouette vanished from the flames.

Ch. 218Ōtsutsuki Isshiki was about to score a double kill

Ōtsutsuki Isshiki ambushed Naruto and Sasuke after surviving Amaterasu, leaving both badly injured and trying to force the Nine-Tails out of Naruto. As Naruto's life faded and Isshiki destroyed his shadow clones, Sakura sensed something was wrong in the Land of Wind.

  • Ōtsutsuki Isshiki hid in a crack between rocks, used Sukunahikona to escape Amaterasu, and emerged badly burned to attack Naruto and Sasuke.
  • Ōtsutsuki Isshiki struck Sasuke with a black rod and grabbed Naruto, but Naruto created hundreds of shadow clones to defend himself.
  • Ōtsutsuki Isshiki repelled the clones, flew off with Naruto, and absorbed his chakra before discovering that the Nine-Tails was missing from Naruto's body.
  • Ōtsutsuki Isshiki hurled Naruto toward the ground, but Shisui Uchiha caught him and revealed that he had saved Sasuke from the fatal blow.
  • The Nine-Tails remained inside one of Naruto's shadow clones while Ōtsutsuki Isshiki destroyed the others, and Sakura sensed danger while treating a wounded ninja in the Land of Wind.

Ch. 219A Crisis in the Shinobi World?

Naruto and Sasuke met the Sage of Six Paths in their mental realms as their allies struggled to protect them from Ōtsutsuki Isshiki’s attack. The Sage revealed that the Shinobi World’s protective barrier had vanished, leaving it exposed to threats from across the cosmos.

  • Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo told Naruto that he was Asura’s reincarnation, while Sasuke insisted that he acted by his own will and was not Indra.
  • Ōtsutsuki Isshiki launched an enormous Ten-Tails' Tailed Beast Bomb at Naruto and Sasuke, and Great Eagle and Black Wolf shielded them.

  • The Sage of Six Paths showed Sasuke an image of Hinata fighting a monster and said she might be stronger than his mother.
  • The Sage explained that his mother’s barrier around the Shinobi World had disappeared, exposing it to cosmic enemies, and reminded Sasuke of the beams of light that had fallen from the sky.

Ch. 220The Sleeping Power

Sasuke accepted the Sage of Six Paths’ offer of power after affirming his resolve to build peace with Naruto, while Hinata continued fighting the Starry Sky Beast. The Ten-Tails’ Tailed Beast Bomb devastated part of the Land of Lightning, and Ōtsutsuki Isshiki found Naruto and Sasuke alive in the crater, though Great Eagle and Black Wolf were nearly destroyed.

  • Sasuke told the Sage of Six Paths that Hinata was powerful and could bring peace, and he and Naruto vowed to keep moving forward despite the deaths their plans might cause.
  • The Sage of Six Paths rejoiced at Naruto and Sasuke’s shared conviction and gave them his remaining power, along with Indra’s chakra for Sasuke.
  • The Ten-Tails’ Tailed Beast Bomb exploded, sending a shock wave through Kumogakure and drawing the Shinobi World’s attention to the enormous chakra in the Land of Lightning.
  • Sakura realized the explosion was connected to Naruto and Sasuke and prayed that they would return safely.
  • Ōtsutsuki Isshiki saw that the blast had carved a vast crater and that life remained beneath its water.
  • The Nine-Tails emerged from the crater with Naruto and Sasuke unharmed on his tails, while Great Eagle and Black Wolf had been reduced to lumps of black mud.

Ch. 221Amenotejikara

  • Naruto and Sasuke dodged Isshiki’s powerful ninjutsu until Sasuke used Amenotejikara to swap Isshiki onto the water beside Naruto.
  • Naruto unleashed an enhanced attack at close range, and Isshiki took it head-on.

Ch. 222Return

Naruto and Sasuke fought Ōtsutsuki Isshiki, using Taijutsu and Shadow Clones to hold him off while they waited for Hinata. Their battle stopped when Hinata killed the Starry Sky Beast and returned with its body.

  • Sasuke used his Rinnegan ability to swap places and help Naruto wound Ōtsutsuki Isshiki, who then identified the technique.
  • Naruto and Sasuke tried to stall Ōtsutsuki Isshiki with Taijutsu, but he outmatched them and attacked Naruto with his shadows.
  • Naruto created hundreds of Shadow Clones to assist Sasuke, and Ōtsutsuki Isshiki made clones of his own before Sasuke followed suit.
  • Ōtsutsuki Isshiki stopped fighting when he saw the Starry Sky Beast falling from the sky.
  • Hinata pierced the beast with a streak of golden light, split its body in two, and made its corpse vanish.

Ch. 224Regressing from Boruto-Level Strength to the Shippuden Finale

Hinata killed Ōtsutsuki Isshiki, and the group subdued the Ten-Tails and used its chakra to restore the Nine-Tails and aid their allies. After sealing Indra's and Asura's chakra in Naruto and Sasuke to help them grow stronger over time, Hinata learned that Kumogakure had agreed to join the Hidden Leaf Village.

  • Hinata killed Ōtsutsuki Isshiki and captured his soul, but the Ten-Tails emerged from beneath the water.

  • Tsunade let Sakura leave the Land of Wind, and Sakura set out for the Land of Lightning to find Sasuke.
  • Hinata remembered the Starry Sky Beast's two attacks in the sea, transferred to the Land of Water, and saw waves battering its islands.

Ch. 226There Were Still Too Few Wood Release Users

Hinata stopped a massive wave from devastating the Land of Water, then purified seawater and made rain fall over the Land of Wind. She planned to use water and food to win the Land of Wind’s allegiance and eventually transform its desert with Wood Release forests.

  • Hinata used Planetary Devastation to lift the massive wave’s seawater into huge balls, then moved them to the Land of Wind.
  • Hinata distilled seawater above the Land of Wind and made fresh rain fall for several hours, bringing relief to residents and captive Sunagakure ninja.
  • After surveying the desert, Hinata thought about using Yamato and other Wood Release users to plant forests across the Land of Wind.
  • Hinata stored the remaining seawater in her Alternate Dimension and began purifying it while sorting fish, salt, and other leftovers through spatial gates.
  • Hinata planned to make the Land of Wind submit by supplying water and food, then use Wood Release and further rain to change its environment.

Ch. 227Nagato's misery

Hinata traced Nagato to a secret underground biotechnology base where he had been captured and tortured. She rescued him after learning his eyes had been removed and reassured him that Ōtsutsuki Isshiki had already been defeated.
