History

Refugee at Grymeon Wall

Phili was part of a family of northern farmers stranded outside the Kingdom of Gilneas for more than ten days. With the gates closed and refugees dying to undead and werewolf attacks, she begged Li Shaolin to save her plague-infected brother, Vallas, even offering herself in exchange for his life. 56

Li Shaolin chose to transform Vallas rather than let him die and agreed to take Phili, Vallas, and their parents aboard his ship. The family initially feared Li Shaolin’s undead servants, but accepted his protection after surviving the werewolf attack on the ship. 56 57 62

During the battle, Phili helped the exhausted Li Shaolin stand despite being frightened herself. Afterward, she was sickened by the sight of Abominations consuming werewolf corpses. 61 62

Timbermaw Village and Yogg-Saron

While seeking water in Timbermaw Village, Phili heard a voice that Li Shaolin could not perceive. She wandered through the mist toward an abandoned church, where she prayed before an altar that began emitting faint Holy Light. 63 64

Phili disappeared during the Vrykul’s attack on the church. Li Shaolin later found her bound within Aras’s ritual site, where she was being used in a ceremony connected to Yogg-Saron. 64 67 69

Yogg-Saron controlled Phili as a Medium during the battle between werewolves and paladins. While suspended in the air, she channeled lightning against paladins and created green mist circles that produced Yogg-Saron Guardians. 71 Li Shaolin and Krennan disrupted the control by launching a Guardian into the air and detonating it near her, causing Phili to fall. 71

Worgen State and Shadowfang Keep

After the Old God’s avatar was weakened, Phili transformed into a Worgen and pursued the fleeing Undead Warlock. Li Shaolin followed her to Shadowfang Keep, concerned that she could not face the Warlock alone. 72 73

Her Worgen form attacked the Warlock and later killed Archmage Arugal, but Phili had lost her consciousness and acted under the Worgen influence. 81 Aras subsequently used her as a shield while attempting to recover Yogg-Saron’s soul fragment. 82

Phili was struck in the chest by the elven huntress’s arrow while under Aras’s control. Though badly injured, she regained enough awareness to look at Li Shaolin with guilt and obeyed his instruction not to move. 83

Druid Inheritance and Recovery

Li Shaolin discovered that Phili was clutching Yogg-Saron’s soul fragment and that the Book of the Dead recognized her as a potential Druid inheritor. He activated her class despite the severe strain it placed on her body, using life force channeled through the Blood Golem to keep her alive. 83 84

After Phili and Li Shaolin were recovered from the sea, she remained unconscious under a curse marked by a dark pattern spreading from her forehead toward her ears. Li Shaolin sought a remedy for her condition. 85 99

By the time Li Shaolin later grants her the Wild Druid identity, Phili is awake and drawing water at Stonefield Farm. 125 He eventually entrusts Phili and Old Val with managing a planned settlement in the safe areas of Raven Hill and Rotting Grass Farm. 130
