Watching the old butler rest peacefully against the tree, Havent sighed helplessly and stood up.
"Hey, kid, you aren't hurt, are you?"
Seeing the old butler breathe his last, Lori threw himself over Simoya's corpse and began crying again. Hearing Havent question him, he raised his head and shook it.
"Alright, if you're not hurt, go pick up a weapon over there and dig a hole. Bury your old butler. There should be wolves in these woods, and you don't want him to get chewed up by them, do you?"
Lori was stunned by Havent's shocking words. For a moment, he even forgot to cry, staring blankly at the blood-covered boy before him.
"Don't look at me. Even if you look at me, I'm not helping you dig. He's your butler, not mine. Bury him yourself."
Hearing Havent's cold words, Lori could not help sobbing again.
"Stop crying! If you keep crying, I'll throw you here to feed the wolves!"
Frightened, Lori immediately stopped crying and looked at Havent before speaking softly:
"Wrong! He died before I could agree to anything. Besides, he told me to escort you, not take care of you. And if you're planning to feed him to wolves, then we can leave right now."
Under Havent's tyranny, Lori walked over to the corpse, picked up a saber, and started scraping at the ground.
An hour later, a small mound of earth had been piled up. Under Havent's coercion, Little Lori kowtowed three times before the tiny grave.
"Alright, that'll do. It counts as repaying Mr. Simoya for fighting desperately for you in his final moments. Let's go."
Havent looked up at the sky. The tree shade made it difficult to see where the sun was, so he had no choice but to rely on his instincts
