Captivity and rescue

Alyona was held in a mine and suffered extensive injuries before Griseo, Mr. Wolf, and Tyrant rescued her. Griseo promised to avenge her in exchange for her color and information about the mine; Tyrant subsequently eliminated most of its guards before Alyona could confront them herself. 18 19

Although she tried to minimize her condition, Griseo discovered that her wounds and scars were severe and brought her to Lois for treatment. 19 20

Life with Griseo and Reunion

After the rescue, Alyona remained in the warehouse under the care of Lois and the Yetis. She initially struggled to accept kindness, believing herself dirty because of her captivity, but Griseo reassured her that her colors were “very beautiful.” 21

She gradually became Griseo's near-constant companion, sharing meals, resting beside her, holding her hand outside the warehouse, and accepting Griseo's promise to protect her. 21 22 23 Though wary of unfamiliar people, Alyona accepted Alina's hand after Griseo affirmed that she was trustworthy. 33

During Reunion's relocation, Alyona remained protective of Griseo amid the attention of Reunion members and the arriving Sarkaz mercenaries. She accompanied Griseo to meet Mudrock, explained Griseo's color-related abilities to her, and later warned Griseo to conceal her ability to borrow others' powers. 43 48 49 50

Training and later activities

After her injuries had recovered sufficiently, Alyona formally began long-term training with the Yeti Squad and Patriot. She accepted the training willingly, quickly mastered a day's material ahead of schedule, and continued to study and train in private. 51 125 170 172

Alyona's motivation is to become strong enough to protect those important to her rather than remain someone Griseo must always protect. As her condition improved, she began waking early to train and assist with work around the Reunion camp. 125 170

Despite this guardedness, she is resilient and deeply loyal once she trusts someone. She becomes visibly happier around Griseo, chooses to follow her, and repeatedly prioritizes Griseo's well-being over her own. 21 23 37

Her protectiveness is practical rather than forceful: she shields Griseo from uncomfortable attention, accompanies her outside when worried, translates her unusual explanations, and urges her to keep dangerous abilities secret. 43 48 50
