Yu Luo raised the revolver in his hand and unleashed another rapid volley. The mana-forged bullets pierced Zombie Girl's heads without obstruction. The USP in Kiana's hands was not as powerful as Yu Luo's revolver, but she only had to deal with the Zombie Girls slipping through from the flanks, so she had it easy enough.
At the rear, Mei Raiden relied on her superb Hokushin Itto-ryu swordsmanship to firmly guard the group's back. Her strikes were clean and decisive, without the slightest hesitation. Every flash of her blade sent a Zombie Girl collapsing to the ground.
Yu Luo cleared the way, Kiana cleaned up the Zombie Girls that slipped past, and Mei Raiden protected the rear. The three steadily pushed toward the security gate. It looked dangerous, but they were solid as a rock. If the densely packed Zombie Girls were a tide, then Yu Luo's group was a boulder. The tide could only break into scattered waves against them, unable to affect the three in the slightest.
Finally, under Yu Luo's overwhelming firepower and brute-force advance, the three struggled out of the waiting hall and onto the station platform. "Awoo!" Though countless companions had fallen at their feet, the Zombie Girls still relentlessly slammed against the security gate, staring at the three outside.
"Hey, stop chasing us. I don't have any cough syrup!" Having broken out of the encirclement, Yu Luo breathed a sigh of relief, deactivated his Henshin state with around 70% energy remaining, and cracked a joke at the Zombie Girls inside.
"Come on, are you planning to go back and get intimate with them?" Kiana snapped at Yu Luo, who was still in the mood to joke.
"No, no. There are too many. I can't keep up nutritionally."
"Pervert!" Kiana stomped hard on Yu Luo's foot, flicked her silver twin-tails, snorted, and jumped down from the platform, walking forward along the tracks.
Mei Raiden blushed and said to Yu Luo with a hint of reproach, "Teacher Yu Luo, please don't say things like that to girls in the future. It's very rude." After saying that, she jumped down as well and followed behind Kiana.
Yu Luo shrugged helplessly and asked the system in his mind, "Tell me, what's wrong with a man being a little perverted?"
"There's nothing wrong with men being a little perverted," the system said, thoroughly agreeing with Yu Luo. "But being perverted in front of girls is sexual harassment. If they didn't beat you to death, that means they're interested in you."
The smile on Yu Luo's face froze. He clicked his tongue awkwardly and ran after Kiana and Mei Raiden.
After walking along the light rail tracks for several hours, Yu Luo felt his stomach completely empty under the blazing sun. When his legs began to weaken, he suggested, "Let's rest and eat something. I'm starving."
Kiana, walking ahead, also stopped. She touched her flat stomach and nodded in agreement with Yu Luo's suggestion. "Fine, let's rest, eat something, then keep going." As she spoke, Kiana pointed at an abandoned railcar that had derailed ahead. "Let's rest over there."
The three climbed into the abandoned railcar. Yu Luo immediately collapsed onto a seat and refused to get up, looking as though he had burned himself out completely. His whole color palette seemed to turn gray and white, and he did not even have the strength to speak.
"I made some rice balls this morning. Everyone, come try them." Mei Raiden pulled a cloth bundle from who knew where. When she opened it, there were four plump, exquisitely made rice balls inside, each decorated with a red pickled plum that made them even more appetizing.
The instant the rice balls appeared, Yu Luo's near-death look vanished. Like a rabbit, before Kiana could react, he grabbed a rice ball in each hand and stuffed them into his mouth.
Kiana's eyes immediately turned red. She grabbed Yu Luo's other hand and protested without letting up, "Stupid teacher, Mei made those for me! Why are you stealing so many?"
"Mm mm mm... (Do you have any proof?)" Yu Luo's mouth was packed with rice, making his words incomprehensible. Kiana could not understand him at all and continued trying to snatch the other rice ball from his hand.
"Awoo!" Yu Luo took a bite from both rice balls. Kiana immediately gave up trying to take them and threw herself into Mei Raiden's ample embrace, whining, "Mei, he's so awful!"
"Alright, alright. There are still two here. We can have one each." Like a mother comforting her child, Mei Raiden reached out and stroked Kiana's silver hair. Yu Luo stared blankly at the sight, and the rice balls in his hands suddenly no longer seemed so appealing.
With her face buried in Mei Raiden's chest, Kiana secretly glanced at Yu Luo and stuck out her tongue at him. Then, wearing a triumphant expression, she continued enjoying Mei's comforting embrace.
How could Yu Luo not realize that this White-Haired Idiot had played him? Her target had never been the rice balls in his hands, but close contact with Mei Raiden. Having figured it out, Yu Luo could only gloomily swallow one rice ball in a single bite, chewing with deep resentment as he watched Kiana.
It took more than ten minutes before Kiana finally climbed down from Mei Raiden. She nibbled at the rice ball Mei had made in small bites, occasionally revealing a besotted grin. Mei Raiden ate elegantly, and simply watching her was a visual pleasure.
Yu Luo leaned against the window of the railcar. From there, he could look down over all of Changkong City. It appeared to be a prosperous metropolis, but who would have thought it had already become a city of the dead?
"Da-la..."
Yu Luo vaguely seemed to hear some strange sound. He asked Kiana and Mei Raiden, "Did you hear something?"
"No." Mei Raiden shook her head, while Kiana said impatiently, "There aren't any Honkai girls who can get here. Other than the three of us, there's no one else. Did you hear it wrong?"
"Maybe." Since both of them said so, perhaps the sound just now had been his imagination.
"Da-la..." The exact same sound rang out again, and this time it was very close. Even Kiana and Mei Raiden heard it. The three exchanged grave looks, drew their weapons, and left the railcar to investigate.
"Da-la..." A body as tall as a floor, deep-blue plating, metallic limbs filled with mechanical beauty—what entered the three's view was a robot that looked completely beyond the capabilities of modern technology.
"What is that? A Gundam?!" Yu Luo cried out. He was not even half as tall as the massive robot before them. Mei Raiden's gaze settled on the robot's chest, where a string of strange characters and a sideways S symbol were printed.
"Τιτν." Mei Raiden suddenly spoke words neither Yu Luo nor Kiana understood. "Titan... is that this robot's model?"
"Mei, what's wrong?" Kiana immediately noticed Mei Raiden's strange behavior. Mei Raiden pointed at the sideways S symbol and said in confusion, "That logo is exactly the same as the one in the laboratory my family built at the academy."
"ME Corp? This is already beyond the scope of a civilian company, isn't it?" Kiana said in surprise.
Mei Raiden shook her head. "I don't know. I haven't seen Father in a long time, so I don't know what he's been doing."
The deep-blue robot called Titan suddenly revealed an electronic eye, seemingly scanning the three of them. Then the area around its head abruptly turned red. It charged toward them, its fist as large as a car smashing directly down where they stood.
Boom! Dust flew everywhere as the three scattered and leaped aside, narrowly avoiding Titan's punch. The abandoned railcar behind them was not so lucky, however—it was crushed out of shape by that single blow.
"Hey, Teacher, it's time for you, our trump card, to perform!" Kiana compared the size of her dual pistols to Titan, gave up on the idea of fighting, and turned her gaze to Yu Luo.
"I know, I know!" Yu Luo stepped forward and stood before the two girls. No matter how skilled they were, the weapons in their hands were ultimately meant for fighting humans. Against an iron monster like this, perhaps only he could try tearing it apart.
"Cradling a girl in your arms while killing enemies is one thing, but tearing apart Gundams with your bare hands is a man's true romance!" Yu Luo raised his right hand, a bronze Servant card held between his fingers. At the same time, he held a bronze Noble Phantasm Card between the fingers of his left hand.
"Henshin!" With a fleeting flash of silver light, Yu Luo's appearance changed. He now had a blue ponytail and wore a pale-purple kimono. His expression was calm as still water, and in his hand was a Katana as long as a person, its blade clear as autumn water.
Yu Luo also equipped a [Struggle] card that had been used on Kiana yesterday. However, after last night's Friendship Ten-Pull, this low-rarity Noble Phantasm had been fully upgraded and could provide Yu Luo with a small attack boost.
"Come on, let me tear you apart!" Titan's response was the rocket launchers in both hands lighting up with fire.
