He took a deep breath, then forced a smile at Hiruzen Sarutobi.
"I've pulled myself together. I will carry on my parents' wishes and protect the village well.
"The war is busy enough as it is, and you must have many matters to handle. If there is anything you need from me, please do not hesitate to give me orders."
Hiruzen Sarutobi smiled and nodded.
"It's good that you've come to terms with it. When I received the news, I was terribly worried that you wouldn't be able to withstand the blow.
"The Will of Fire will need your protection in the future."
As he spoke, he reached out and patted Uchiha Tunan on the head.
Uchiha Tunan looked at Hiruzen Sarutobi with a deeply moved expression, as though he were desperately holding back the sorrow in his heart. He choked out, "Lord Hokage..."
"Rest well for the next few days. Don't neglect yourself, and if you need anything, come find me at the Hokage Building anytime," Hiruzen Sarutobi gently instructed.
Uchiha Tunan nodded, then left the Hokage's office, looking back every few steps.

Danzo snorted. "Hiruzen, are you questioning my ability to command subordinates? No matter what, he comes from that Evil Clan known as the Uchiha.
"Either eliminate him in the cradle ahead of time, or keep him firmly under our control."
Hiruzen Sarutobi still shook his head, his tone resolute. "Danzo, I have my own plans. You can select Root personnel from other ninja."
Danzo was somewhat surprised. He had not expected Hiruzen Sarutobi to refuse him over nothing more than a Three Tomoe Sharingan genius.
Danzo spoke with faint displeasure.
"What genjutsu did that Uchiha brat cast on you for you to protect him like this? Don't forget that he's from the Uchiha Clan."
"Watch your attitude. I am the Hokage." Hiruzen Sarutobi slapped the table in irritation.
