Sea of Flowers

After dealing with the Displacer Beast, Du Ke continued walking forward.

He quickly passed through the bushes and arrived near South Lake. There weren't many bushes here, just a few sparse, short trees. The rest were plants resembling blue reeds, about half a person's height. A gentle breeze blew, making these blue reeds sway. At the tip of each blue reed was a flower bud, about to bloom.

"The scenery is really nice, full of... exotic flair." Du Ke couldn't quite describe it.

What was the experience of a blue forest, a blue grassland? Accustomed to the green of Earth, the blue here looked comfortable, yet always felt a little awkward. He walked through the blue reed grass and reached the shore of South Lake. Because the lake water reflected the blue reeds, it appeared a vibrant azure. "Why don't I set up camp here?" Night was always filled with fear and threats. Du Ke didn't want to act rashly in this unfamiliar Fantasy World, so he first chose a large tree in the blue reed patch. He watched as the sky grew darker.

He saw a crescent moon rising in the western sky. It resembled Earth's moon, but seemed a bit smaller. He turned his head and was stunned; the blue reed patch had become a shining Sea of Flowers.

He lost interest in watching the moon, his gaze fixed entirely on these blooming flowers. The flowers were of various colors, but all shimmered with a faint, ethereal glow, forming a beautiful, multicolored scene. Most magically, he saw very, very small creatures hidden among these flowers. In a white flower closest to his dwelling, a small creature that had been curled up seemed to wake up and stretch.

It had a pair of transparent wings, and its clothes were woven from petals and leaves, as exquisite as a collectible figure. The little creature seemed to have discovered Du Ke's bird's nest house and curiously flew over, hovering by the window.

"About seventy percent like a human, a small flower on its head, white, with pointed ears, very fair skin, and faint patterns on its face. It seems to be female... They circled the window of Du Ke's dwelling and began to chatter and communicate, occasionally pointing at Du Ke.

"Hi." Du Ke also felt these Flower Fairies were harmless, so he put on what he thought was a charming smile, attempting to communicate with them. But as soon as he spoke, he scared the Flower Fairies away.

In the blink of an eye, they flew more than ten meters away.

By then, more and more Flower Fairies had noticed Du Ke's dwelling and were flying over, their chattering voices incessant. The scene was dreamlike, with a glowing Sea of Flowers all around and flying Flower Fairies outside the window. However, the sheer number of Flower Fairies made Du Ke's initial ease gradually turn into a bit of nervousness. He didn't know what species he had encountered.

At this moment, the flying Flower Fairies suddenly parted, creating an opening in the air. Immediately after, a Flower Fairy, as large as two palms, emerged from the crowd and approached the window, facing Du Ke directly.

It also had a feminine appearance, but instead of one pair of transparent wings, it had two pairs.

Its hands were no longer empty; it held a small staff, with a glowing ruby embedded at the tip. The large Flower Fairy suddenly raised the ruby staff in its hand and said to Du Ke, "Jijigu Gugu Jibulu Gugu..." The syllables were unintelligible, the language unknown. Apart from sounding pleasant, he had no idea what it was saying.

Du Ke pointed to his ear and shook his hand, signaling, "I don't understand."

On the large Flower Fairy's head was a vibrant red flower, somewhat resembling a peony. It stared at Du Ke with wide eyes. Only after Du Ke gestured three times did it seem to understand and say something unintelligible, then begin to gesture. It drew a circle in the air, then pointed to the surrounding Flower Fairies, then to itself, and made a downward motion with its hand.

Instantly, all the Flower Fairies bowed to it.

"Are you saying you're their leader?" Du Ke guessed.

The large Flower Fairy continued to gesture. It pointed to the surrounding Flower Fairies and itself, then pointed outside, made a sleeping gesture, then pointed at Du Ke, and shook its head repeatedly. The other Flower Fairies also shook their heads.

Their pronunciation was poor; some said "Dǔle," some said "Chǔgē," and others said "Bùlā," miles off the mark. But as the large Flower Fairy repeatedly said "Du Ke," soon all the Flower Fairies could say "Du Ke."

"My name is Du Ke, what's yours?" Du Ke asked, pointing to the large Flower Fairy.

The large Flower Fairy took a while to understand, then seemed to realize Du Ke was asking its name. It tilted its head and slowly said, "Abrulia Savasa Milia."

"Abru-what?"

"Abrulia Savasa Milia." The large Flower Fairy repeated.

At this, the other Flower Fairies also began to call out "Savasa Savasa" and repeated the bowing gesture from before. Clearly, this was calling out their leader's name. Of course, it could also be a title, like King or Lord.

Du Ke heard clearly this time and repeated, "Abrulia Savasa Milia."

The large Flower Fairy nodded, then suddenly smiled. If it weren't so small, not much larger than a collectible figure, that smile would have been truly captivating. It wasn't that it conformed to human aesthetics, but its smile carried a natural aura, like a hundred flowers blooming and smiling at you.
